I think it's something like the frat. order of firefighters or something similar calling for donations. though this was the first time i got it on my cellphone. callbacks only go to a voicemail service.

It is a scam, I recived an automated call from my sheriffs dept this moring saying that gov agencys do not sollicit (sp?0 for money over the phone.

It is a scammer calling saying they are sollisiting money for the FOP (Fraternal order or police) and who ever your local sheriffs dept is. I think they also switch it up tp say they are collecting money for your local fire fighters.
My sheriffs dept gave me a heads up this morning and said it was a telephone scam. I dont give my info out over the phone anyway.
But I told the guy "I give directly too the officers that pull me over!: LOL

This strange man's voice said some unintelligable and then my name. I asked who was calling and the line went dead. Whatever organization this is it is an unpleasant expirience - kinda freaky. Maybe I should just cancel house phone service all together. Who wants to pay for this kind of harrassment?!

Got a call from this number and a man simply said, "I know bout you" and hung up.

I have gotten 2 calls....the first one was 904-265-9700, I proceeded to block the number. Tonight approximately 6:55 pm Got another one...FOP and coming from 904-265-9711, so they have a bunch of numbers for calling out, I have now blocked all the numbers in between.......9701, 9702 and so on.....

Caller asked for Mr. mywife'slastname. I said there is no Mr. mywife'slastname, who's calling please? He said let me speak to Mrs. mywife'slastname. I said we do not like unsolicited callers, who is calling please? He then loudly said these exact words to me- GET OFF THE PHONE YOU F*G**T MOTHERF*****R! and hung up. Amazing!
I'm sorry that he has such a crummy job, but I'd love to be able to get this guy fired. Call happened at 5:30 pm Eastern on 1/7/10.

Repeated calls with no messages left. Presumably, this is the organization who claims to be collecting for either the local fire fighters or FOP about every other month.
