Got a call from 904-359-2551 stating my name and that they were calling from the Dept of Revenue and Child Support Authority and I need to call them back and provide them with updated account information so they can transfer the money. Since I don't have children I knew it was a scam

This number keeps coming up on my caller ID, but no messages are left.
SeanNM 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
Number is spoofed. Identity Theft Warning. Recorded message prompt connects you to an 'associate/representative'. Caller tries to obtain your credit card information under the guise of lowering your interest rates. Caller does not know what credit cards you hold. Caller will not identify the company they represent, or provide contact information, nor confirm the name shown on caller I.D. Caller I.D. shows "Screen Process" with fake/spoofed number. If caller is challenged or pressed for information, she (in this instance) becomes rude, defensive, and derogatory, before hanging up. If you call number back listed on the I.D., it reports as "disconnected". Filed a report/complaint with the DNC/FCC.

CALLER I.D.--ANOTHER MARKETING CALL--ANOTHER SCAM.
Rossi 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
Call came from Manitoba, California at 13:54 Hours on 2-19-09. Call not answered and no message left.
Checking other sites, it appears this number is used for several scams including auto warranty, and also schemes to lower your credit card rate. But, whatever, junk them.

Same as above... I'm registering all these numbers on the FCC site too. Been on the DNC list since it came out. Grrrrr!
I used to get these calls on my cell phone but last summer I reported a bunch of them on the DNC site and to the FCC. I haven't gotten any calls on my cell for the last couple of months (knock on wood) so maybe there is hope! Now I just need to do the same for my home number... Keep reporting these bastards!

Last chance on a credit card rate offer....scam
que 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
I've been getting calls daily from "telemarketers" to lower my credit interest rate or to extend my automobile warrenty. Same scam, different phones. Must be the same scamers using different numbers.
simply amazed 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
Just got the call re: lowering my interest rate. Pressed 1 to tell them to stop calling. After about 15 rings, "Eric" answered and asked my name.....I said "Look, I'm on the do not call list, and I'd appreciate it if you stop calling." He rudely hung up. Then I filed a complaint with donotcall.gov. We'll see what happens!

I just got a call from these people and on my caller id, it came up, "Screen Process." I got an automated voice message, stating, "We've tried to call you several times in an effort to lower your credit card interest rates. This is our final attempt." I thought this might actually be a message from my credit card company telling me that somebody compromised my card. I pressed "1" and got a male voice that said, "What is your current interest rate, ma'am" and then I stated, " I don't even know what your call is regarding." Then he hung up on my face. I tried to dial back and it rang busy and then I got the fax sound. I tried dialing from my cell phone but got the busy signal, too.

do not call does no good as you turn them in and it still continues
linda 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
I'm getting the same calls. First insurance, and then credit rate lowering. Caller ID shows "screen process". Rude on message left by the woman. Any suggestions on how to stop this scam?
wonderland 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
the caller i.d. says "screen process". it is a different number from usual, but the recording is the same...something about my chance for lowering my interest rate is about to expire. i don't have an interest rate to worry about. these people are idiots.

A computer generated call that clogs up our business line from our existing and potential clients
Brian 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
Got this call on my BUSINESS CELL PHONE! Credit Card interest rate reduction offer. When asked if my credit card balance was at least $4,000, I said it was only about $13. Bastards hung up without another word. Called back and got a fax. Anyone have a way to send an endless fax??
Navy Wife 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
I keep getting computer generated calls from this number. The computer says that my car warranty is about to expire, press 1 for a representative and 2 to have my phone number removed from their list. Pressing 2 does not seem to work as I have done this no less than a dozen times. Pressing 1 does get you someone, but they will not give you the company information. He finally said "Warranties are us." I asked to speak to his supervisor, he said he was putting me on hold, but really just slammed down the phone. They call at ALL hours. The national do not call list does not work.
Rene 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
They call my cell phone too. I thought that was illegal. Why can we not stop these calls. I opted out on line for my cell phone not to get these calls. They called last night to my fax line 4 times. I tried to fax back to them but there is a comm error. Scam artists.
Rene' 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
they call me cell phone all the time. what are we supposed to do?
Lorna 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
Just got a call from these scam artists. I was supposed to press "1" if I wanted to get a lower rate on my credit card. I decided to see what would happen and presse "1". "Shalena" (the name she gave me) answered and asked me to verify who she was talking to. I told her I was answering her call, so who was she calling? She hung up immediately. I then return-called the number on my caller ID (904-359-4745) and got a fax machine tone.

these dumb butts call every week sometimes every day. Im on the no call registry so is my cell phone. They best quit
drew 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
i get this one too. if you go back online to do not call.gov there's a place to add a complaint. put this number in and it should stop. i had eight different telemarketers' numbers programmed into my cell phone so i'd know not to answer. my dad told me about the "complaint" option and it worked instantly. good look. i'm off to register this goob right now.
j summer 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
they call after I tell them not to and tell them I'm on the do not call list .
they hang up after I ask for a superviser. have been on the do not call list since it started
teacher 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
I get called during class time!!!
Who are they??
bob 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
The national DNC list is a joke. I've seen complaints about this number all the way back to 1996. Shouldn't they have fixed it by now? I swear I get more telephone solicitaion since I signed up on the do not call list than before I signed up.
tired 2011-06-06 21:06:28 Unknown
It does no good to contact FTC as these crooks are spoofing the numbers they use.
