they say they have served you but they did no such thing. they want you to go to court an admit that you owe the money and that will open the claim again so you have to pay the debt. so dont be stupid and deny the claim. as for your bank account cancel it and open a new one. if you have more then one name on the account they cant touch it if they r only sueing u. best bet get a lawyer i did. good luck.....

So what happened at court?

This number called my house yesterday. said they were calling for a guy with the same last name as mine but I could not make out the first name and said they were calling regarding a cold case. sounded like palmer & boucher or butcher. asked me to call Miss Julia back at 905 663 1436.  She did not answer when I returned the call. I just said there was no one by that first name here and maybe she was looking for my husband as of today at  3:18 pm they have not called. Feel so stupid if this was scammers!!! I had another guy contact me threw facebook saying I was in line to claim money from a relative.  They had my maiden name as the same as the dead guys but I did not know him.  I looked into that too and people has lost everything to these a***oles!! It has become a scary world,

Never served papers or notified in anyway! CT  Debt over 4 yeras old. We never talked to anyone about payments etc. Bank account has now been frozen and just got copy of apparent judgement / court papers in mail. Went to court house for copy of case file but its been sent to Toronto to be stored so have to wait 3 months to re request it from courthouse!  Im consulting a lawyer because debt is over 4 years old , and these people misrepresent themselves on their paperwork and they of course go to superior court cause they dont need documentation.  Frustrated but will get to the bottom of this !

I get calls from these guys all the time. They are just another company thats good at lying to the courts. They claimed the served me yet i never received one document. they claimed they had a judgement against my house. turns out they bought the debt off of ct and sat on it until they could rack the debt up and over 15,000.00   I will say this now if your a troll "F@#Kyou" I worked hard for a nother american company. when i traveled to the USA the company credit cards were cancelled and I was forced to pay for my meals lodging and fuel while i was in the usa for 3 weeks untill I made it back to the canadian corp office. The company filed for bankruptcy and failed to pay my expenses. after the settlement us employees never got our expenses paid yet. the darn ceos cfos and investors all got their money and bonuses.  hell we did not even receive out severance pay or pension contributuons.. so why should I pay the debt to another corporation..

They are so behind on there collections. I have not made one payment with them and they have not noticed.
They have so mannny and r making soooo much money, and i know ur account balance i have a friend that told me... It's a joke, i dont think they know who owes what. :  ) find me.........

I think Lucy and Minnie are the same person why don't you get some pride and get a decent job where you don't harass people for debts they don't owe.  

I worked for a plumbing for many years and did collections as well and was always nice to people when I called and when I left that job not one account was past due because I was kind and decent to people.  But I guess I'm talking to Lucy aka Minnie or Minnie aka Lucy I'm not really talking to a decent person.

I don't know if I would be worried to much most of these lawyers that do only debt collections are not very good lawyers they do collections because they are not that good, they are however a little sneaky make sure that if they do try and take you to court that you file a defense immediately if you don't they can get a judgement against you.  I only know this because I know someone this happen to she filed a statement of defense, they sued her in Superior Court and not small claims because they don't have to provide documents in Superior Court when they file the claim.  She filed the statement of defense, sent in copies of the documents required and the person suing her had to drop the case since they didn't have a defense they lied in the statement of claim indicating terms that were not true.  This is how these companies work they are basically scammers that try and come across as decent lawyers but they are not.  Don't let it scare you defend yourself if you they prove you owe the money you can always make payment arrangements.  Also check the statue of limitation, its two years if your last payment was 2 years ago and you don't make another payment or admit you owe the money they can't win if you point out the statue of limitation.

I don't understand if your company is so professional why would you have to have employee's come on a message board and call people losers, I think this says a lot about your company.

I don't have an issues with these people personally but they are sending my father letters, my father is a senior who was in the Hospital for 5 months, 1 month he was in a coma we sent a letter (written by the Dr.) to Canadian Tire explaining that he was not able to confirm he owed this money since he also had a stroke and couldn't remember plus at that time he wasn't expected to live we asked for confirmation and received nothing until this letter from Pomer & Boccia.  So to the person who is calling people losers, you are the loser since they have to prove the debt first before they can go to court most can't since they don't keep documents so bring it one losers. This says a lot about Canadian Tire who would hire a company that has its employees come into a message board to write these messages.

Pomer & Boccia, law firm (a person named Glen) keeps calling for someone called Nancy. I've had to block this caller as he has eaten up my money/cellphone minutes listening to messages that are not for me.

I have had 20+ calls in a week from this number over a traffic ticket I got 10 friggin years ago and PAID in full. Finally got so mad I told them to f off and not call again, got a call back from a Mark Holstin claiming to be a lawyer told him were to go to and no further calls.

They can only get you if the account they r trying to drain is not a joint account. Like they try to smoke you LOL. If they r sueing u and u have a joint account with some one else they cant touch it because its not allur funds. They can can only take the money when its the person they r sueing . Just got a call, this lady asked for my mom and I told her she is not here. She asked what time to call and I told her around 6, today and tomorrow then she said she is calling grin a law office and she won't be in the office. Then she asked if I am her daughter and I said no just a friend then she hang up on me.

CHALLENGE THEM, HE IS REAL BUT A FRAUD. HE ONLY FEEDS OFF THE WEAK, BUT RUNS FROM THE STRONG. HE DOES HAVE THE CANADIAN TIRE ACCOUNT FOR COLLECTION BUT HE BUYS IT FROM THEM AND COLLECTS FOR HIM AND THE FIRM. WHEN HE TRIES TO COLLECT FROM YOU HE KNOWS THE IN'S AND OUT WHEN IT COME TO FREEZING YOUR ACCOUNT AND TAKING YOUR MONEY WITH NOT RECEIPT OR ACCOUNT SETUP. IT'S NOT LEGAL ASK YOUR BANK. Received a call from a lady from Palmer and Boccia, stated she was going to take me to court, freeze my bank account and numerous other things unless I paid $1100.00 to them within 2 weeks. She was extremely rude. The number is not 905-663-1440 it was 905-663-1436. What can be done to stop these people and are they a legitimate law firm?

They just called my home phone number, looking for me. I laughed in there faces when they said i owed them money. I told the buggers to go piss up a rope, then blocked there number. These pricks are funny ;)

Don't ignore the calls. They will put a hold on your bank account after they receive a judgment in court.  Also, don't trust that c***sucker Jerry Gauley or whatever his name is.  He said on the phone that he would call the bank in the morning and take the hold off because we came to an agreement.  He said he wouldn't return any money already taken.  What he neglected to mention was that he was going to wait for two days and then clear out every last penny.  It wasn't what he had already taken, it was what he was going to take.  He ignored my calls and took my rent money.  How is a person supposed to live up to obligations when there is no money.  Yes, I owe the money.  Yes, I intend to pay.  No, I will never trust that do***e bag, motherf***er, c***sucking son of a bi*** again.

yea they tried calling here too...thing is, we have NO debt to anyone! so its really funny that they are even calling here.. I have already called york regional police and the durham regional police. they are aware of the situation...

I am in the process of being screwed around with Pomer & Boccia's Mr. Gerry Joly. I had a debt with Canadian Tire Bank and do to sickness the insurance for the credit card wouldn't cover me even though I paid the monthly premiun. The collection agency side of this company chased me for a period of time threats of taking my home away from me, going after my bank account and few other things. I was in the hospital at one point when they called my wife and when she reported I was in the hospital with a heart attack, they stated that she was making up a story thus they were launching a suit against me to take my house, they even called the hospital to speak to me, but the call was prevented  as I was in an ICU ward.
A woman named Giuilia called my house spoke to my wife and than me and offered us a payout for our debt. We begged and borrowed from our families and came up with the amount and sent on to them. I even followed up with this woman who indicated the monies were received and the matter was closed. But in November of 2012 Mr Jolly called and wanted the rest of the money, this came out of the blue I thought the debt was finished. I explained the situation and he said he would look into it and not to worry. Next thing I know I have a judgment against me for the full amount including 25% interest. He has a writ against my house and he has a writ on my bank account. I received all this information this week April 2/2013. Mr Joly told me he would resolve all these problems and have both writs lifted, which has not done. I spoke to Canadian Tire Bank today who informed me that Pomer & Boccia is their collection agency as well as their lawyer, which I didn't know. Also they have no track of my payment settlement and when I asked Guilia back in Feb/12 for a letter it was in the mail. I have since been very sick and there has not been or most likely everything back on track but Pomer & Boccia's Mr Joly has prevented this to happen. I am not a deadbeat or a loser just a guy who went through a terrible period in his life. I would rather deal directly with Canadian Tire myself. And if your a former employee of this company why did you leave? or the other question what were they doing that bothered you. Be honest!

Just had a call from (905) 663-1440.
The caller identified himself as being a lawyer.
He asked for Matt L**man.  I told them he hadn't worked here in a couple years.
He wouldn't identify the name of the law firm, and just because he sounded sketchy, I googled the #.
Found this page, and I now believe this is a fraudulent come-on from a collection agency.
Scumbags.  These people are not legitimate.  
I have nothing to hide... they are not after me... nor do I have any information that would help, but, they would be smarter to be honest and sincere, and they might get some co-operation.

They phoned me at my office, I recognized the phone # and hung up. They then got the receptionist involved and then my supervisor involved who was quite incensed. So I was ordered by my boss to phone these so and so's and I immediately degraded by the person on the line and they want me to rush payments out paying them directly not CTC. I faxed them the deal I could live with, if they don't sign I will phone York Regional Police for harassing me and my co-workers.

Dont owe money anywhere! Every body owe's money even the collectors. All it's about is fear. Please guy's fear is what makes you weak and they can smell it. What ever gets mailed to you ignore it and who ever calls you entertain them with i dont know. The collection people are person's that buy bad debt and try to collect from you. The original debt that you owe as been written off, so that means your cedit wont get any better if you pay it or not for 7 years. I went throught this process. i went to court and found them guilty of not serving me when they said they did. They were going to garnigh wages sell my house bla bla bla. Next is a meeting between you the judge and the scammer. I told him i was going to pay nothing because he said he represented a creditor and he was in reality representing himself. He was furious and said i will take you to trial. He sounded like my daughter and i have not heard from him. nuff said they have insurance coverage no different as your car ins. God bless.......

So this number came in on my cell I goggled the number and the results brought me to this page/forum and wowow there are post here from 2008 , now 2013 and low and behold I get a call from a number that you are all talking about... so is there any new news or updates on this firm that I need to be aware of
