Ryan called, my wife answered the phone and I walked in on the last part of a conversation. When I injected myself into the conversation to speak with Ryan he kept repeating himself as though he was reading from a script. He kept assuring me that Master Card and Visa had a policy that prevented scams from using their credit card, he called it a zero liability policy. (that was a big clue)...After listening to him I tried to end the conversation at least 5 times before I was successful. (there is another clue) I was glad to finally get him off the phone. I have told my wife not to EVER give out any credit card information to a solicitor like this.

Man with a East Indian accent claiming to represent RBC Visa.
Said he could lower my interest rates. When I told him the call was being
Recorded, he became very verbally aggressive.
This is not the first time they call, but they keep reappearing, even
At my workplace.
Rcmp, fraud busters are difficult to contact or say they can't do
anything about it. I don't think myself to be a racist, but
every time I see a East Indian man know, i feel the anger building up in me.
I think something has to be done. Somebody has to take the
Responsibility, either the government, banks, telephone, Internet
companies.
I have been frauded before, and I'm fed up. And what about the
elderly population who are often the targets.

Received a call from this number today claiming to be from the Visa center. Told him I was interested said thanks and good bye. He called me back again saying listen and carried on with his spiel. He claimed to have my cc info and said since I pay on time and pay higher than min. balance he could lower my interest rate. I asked him what cc number this pertained to and he gave me a cc number that wasn't even mine. Goodbye!

I got suspicious when I was asked about the expiry date of my card. I knew right there and then that it was an attempt of identity theft or phishing. VISA confirmed this after calling them back. NEVER EVER give out personal information! The call display number apparently cannot be taken as the original source either as there are devices that can fake a legitimate number.

I just got a call from the number, claiming he called from TD Visa, but caller id didn't show as it was specifically. Caller's voice and tone didn't sound professional, which made me suspicious. So I asked for the number to call him back, and he gave me VISA's customer contact number. Phew, my hunch is right! Watch "Identity Thief".

called for my husband 2 days in a row, I asked for a message and he would not give one. The second day when I asked for a message and he said no....I asked him not to call back and hung up. He called back and called me every name under a blue moon, I told him I was going to call the police and hung up. He called back 12 times in a row, non stop. I tried to call the Police annoyance # to report this and I couldn't even get my area code in and he would be calling back which in turns over rides a non completed dial.
Don't answer this number..............very abusive.

Got call today like every day but this time when I picked up there was someone there. He read off my credit card and wanted me to finish it with the rest of the numbers. I said "I don't think so" If I want my credit lowered I will call them myseff and hung up. Seconds later they called back, I picked up and told them to stop calling her and hung up again. And they called right back but this time I ignord their call

My mother received a call from these scammers today. Capital One confirmed that they NEVER call their subscribers to offer them lower rates, or any other promotion. All of their campaigns are in writing by postal mail. Anyone having received these calls needs to (1) cancel their credit cards and (2) call TrasnUnion and Equifax and have them put a fraud alert on your credit file.

This garbage calls me every day using a Call Card with these ending numbers. He's asking me about my Master Card expiry date because "he is seeing right now in his computer that we pay out debts in time and he wants to offer us a lower interest fee"... The same idiot called me a week earlier about my Visa card. His English is very poor, he's from India - somewhere. He called me 17 times in 3 minutes. Too sad that Police with it's Anti-fraud centre cannot track down and arrest these individuals.

I couldn't understand a word the caller was saying, so I just told them I wasn't interested and they became very belligerent. They have called everyday at the same time for the last 4 days.

I condirmed this number is from RBC Visa. They have been calling consistently for the past couple of weeks. I did not answer since I did not recognize the number and they did not leave a message. Before I found out who this is, I tried to have Bell block this number but they could not. Their Call Screening feature will not block this number either. So I finally answered and talked to the person (Sean or Shawn). Since he identified himself as from RBC, I asked him to remove me from the calling list. He became very rude and said he would call back every day at the same time. I called RBC Visa and reported this and asked them to take my name off their calling list. I will be cancelling my RBC Credit card because of this.

Brenda,
If you gave them your card numbers you should cancel your card. Please see my post!

Caller will not leave a message. If you pick up, Caller will offer reduced interest on a credit card(visa for me)and that you will not have to change cards and there will be no fee for this service. They will tell you your name, mailing address and first few numbers of your card(common knowledge),and will then ask you to give them the rest of your card numbers and code(on back of card) to confirm your account.
I called Visa, and was informed that this is a scam and no visa(or any other card company) representative will ask for your credit card number.I called telus and was told that this number was hacked,I then called the R.C.M.P and registered a complaint.I then spoke with the Anti-Fraud Center in Ottawa and was told that these callers are criminals out of India trying to get your credit card numbers,to get your money. They are able to buy your personal info off the internet and that is how you are contacted.I was informed that the only way to get these guys not to call you is by not picking up the call.If you do pick up,even to tell them off, they will keep caling back! The big suprise to me is the fact that criminals,or anyone for that matter, can legaly buy personal information off the credit card companies themselves.????????????????????

This call was regarding my credit card ( Master Card).
They said that they will lower my interest payments due to my paying my credit card on time. The guy on the phone asked my birth date to verify the credit card that he supposly had. he then asked me for the expiry date and number at which point I said that I did not have it on me and he would have to call back. I felt very nervous giving my info on the phone, my gut feeling told me that this call was not legit.
