Yeah, I'm on the do not call list too.  I'm in Newmarket and this number calls me, reduce your debt.
Seems like I will need to use the CALL BLOCK feature on my phone to block this annoying number.

I have heard that phone spammers get the phone numbers from the "Do not call" list. Since it is unenforceable of shores, they can do whatever they want.
The "Do not call" list is a joke.

You can thank our wonderful government and the biggest crook, Bell Canada, they won't even attempt to help, , but when your talking to a Bangladesh call center, I'm not surprised

Wish they would stop calling- every day, sometimes twice a day!!! Never a human, always a recording so I can't tell them to stop.

Called from 905-342-1223 Fake. These calls are from scammers, they are not selling anything because, duct cleaning outfit is just to confirm if a live person or answering machine picks up, they are generating so called sucker lists and are sold to other scammers. It took their system 39 minutes to call back with another spoofed number 905-987-4643 selling get out of debt B-S. Note: for those complaining the do not call list does work, It works because you are not getting any legitimate marketer calls. You are getting call from criminals, they are out to steel your money and they are not about to respect they law just because you put your name on a list.

I think Paul may be correct about the caller ID being faked. If you google the person who the number is registered to, it appears that he's a minister in the Anglican church.

Strangely, the 905-987 area code/exchange is here where I live in Durham Region, Ontario. While I've gotten an increasing number of stupid telemarketer calls on my cell phone lately, never were they from something local to me. I truly suspect it to be a FAKED number being shown up. Newcastle is a TINY little town in this area, not a big place of business. I had a call last week from a number that showed up as 613-555-7823 and one as 905-555-911 which are both clearly fake displays. Is that even legal to fake your display number??

Got the call, and automated message asked if I'm afraid to open my credit card bill....

After 2 rounds of listening to automated messages I left a message advising them that they're calling a business not a person. I was trying to get to a live operator to hear what company was calling.

I have a feeling its an american company.  One of their promises was a consumer proposal.  In the US consumer proposals often are accepted by creditors.  In Canada creditors accept less than 1% of consumer proposals.  (source: my spouse works for a financial institution and rejects consumer proposals for a living)
