I just got a call from 1-917-398-9586 - which is a new york number....they said the exact same thing, i won 2500 trip to cancun, only had to meet 2 requirements - 25 or older and have a valid mastercard or visa......then i was transferred to someone who said they were on behalf of cancun calling and that i had won a trip package and needed to confirm my area code in order to check availability for my area, however she said 'so your area code is 905 correct?' i said 'no, its 902', she said 'oh, ok, well i'll just check for that area, yes i have 3 packages available for me to chose from, but she had to tell me that she can only hold these packages untill the end of this call, if i chose not to.....i cut her off there and said i wasnt interested. also, when people call you and ask who they're talking to, you should only ever if you do at all, only give your first name - remember, they called you.

I am getting so tired of these calls.  Every day now there is a different one and they called my home phone tonight at almost 9:30 p.m.  Didn't leave any message, so you know that it is not important.  I have one caller that is calling twice a day and it shows up unknown number, long distance, private caller.  Wish we could get private numbers that can't be found.  I am tired of being harassed.

Same herer, regarding the cancun vacation.  Theyindicated someone who knows me entered my name at a Bay or Zellers and I have won a 2500 dollar vacation.  They asked if I am over 25 and if I have a valid credit card to check into the hotel with. When I said yes - and this was to a live person by this time - she put me on hold to make sure I spoke to the right person to book the vacation and - you guessed it - they disconnected the line.  Anyone who receives these calls, please watch your credit card statements as they got your name,number and now know you have a credit card.  They were calling, btw, an UNLISTED home telephone number.....while they committed this fraud that the police are about to hear about.

Called my do-not-call landline too; same "free" Cancun vacation; I was rude enough that they hung up on ME!  :-)  Said they were "Cancun Calling" company.

Called my landline just now but I did not answer because it was a long distance unknown number. No message was left.

Called my DO-NOT-CALL land-line (British Columbia) a few minutes ago.
I didn't recognize the number, and so I did not pick up the call.

Told me I won a Cancun vacation, wanted a 'valid credit card', then they broke the connection.
