After being bothered by this number (and many others), a visitor in my home showed me the perfect way to handle the problem. The phone rang, and my friend answered the phone and said, "You have reached the (our closest major city) offices of the Federal Bureau of Investigation/ Major Fraud Division. All Agents are busy at this time. Please remain on the line and an Agent will be with you momentarily, or you may press 1 to leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible." There was a pause on the line, the caller hung up AND I DID NOT RECEIVE ANOTHER CALL. Better than the Do Not Call List.... A thing of beauty.

909-259-9999 @ 10:11am - No Caller ID Name
I suspect this is from the same scam organization that has been calling me constantly from a variety of numbers for over a month now, more detail and numbers in my posts here:

I used to get these call alot. The last time I got the call, I pressed 1 to speak to an "agent" and when he answered, I said "This is the 911 operator, what is you emergency?"
They quit calling

You can write "return to sender" on any letter of package and the USPS will not honor it. The ONLY handwritten directive that a USPS customer may write on a received parcel of mail that the Post Office will honor is the word "deceased". And, that would be for the obvious reason. Try writing 'return to sender' on a piece of mail and see what happens. You'll get it returned to YOU time and time again. But, feel free to try. You're just wasting your time.

I understand your frustrations. Yes, do report them to your State Attorney General. You can also file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) at http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
and select the complaint form "Telemarketing, Prerecorded Messages and Do-Not-Call"
It only takes a few minutes and is helpful to the Enforcement Bureau when conducting their investigations.
Depending on your phone service and provider you may already be paying for a feature that will allow you to block unwanted numbers. You can ask if that option is availabe to you, and for instructions on how to use that feature. Typically your phone service provider will allow you to block 30 numbers.

Did I miss Peggy's call? or wait.. Was it Heather from Card Services? or.. could it be the infamous Tom from Home Protection? If I knew it was Peggy calling from Capital One I would have picked up the phone.

So I get this wacky call from 909-259-9999 about lowering my credit card rate, and I hit the prompt to talk to an agent. I start speaking in German and the guy goes ape, telling me that this is America and to speak in English...so I crank up the German a few decibels and the jerk agent finally tells me to "F_ _ _ Off" and hangs up. I think I've found the way to deal with these tele-morons.

I have received multiple calls from this number offering to lower my credit card rates. I dn't know who these people are, and do not have any credit cards with them. When I told the person on the other end that I have told them in the past not to call me, she hung up.

Blocked this number as well as the others that have called in the past month. It's a shame that AT&T will only allow 10 phone numbers to be blocked. Do Not Call List seems to be totally useless. Figures, it's the Government!

i am sick & tired of this company bothering us, don't people have better things to do with their time & mostly mine!
they call constantly, i tried to talk to some one on the option 1, the guy asked if i called to inquire about a lower interest rate on my credit card, i told him i didn't make the call & wanted to know who he was & what company he worked for & why were they bothering me, he hung up on me.
i tried to call the phone number back & nothing happens.
these crooked people need to leave us alone!
we are on the do not call list & pay extra every month for an unlisted phone number!
put a stop to this!

To day, I just received another call from 909-259-9999. What good is there to be placed on the Do-not-call list? Do you think that this list is providing the information (Telephone Number) for calling? Have received many, many calls about credit card, pressed #3 and have also talked to someone about not calling me. I also threaten to report them to the Atty. General of Texas. They just hangup. We are doomed to this crap without help!
| Morris 2012-04-24 17:57:03 Unknown |
I have received at lease 3 calls in one day from this same company with is starting by saying - "Hello, my name is Jennier" and it is about lowering my credit card rate. The numbers are as follows: 863-578-5284, 913-284-0405, 909-259-9999. I pressed the number 3 as it stated to stop receiving the calls but not I am getting even more calls since I requested them to stop
