I get 3 calls a day about 2-3 hours apart and they never leave a voicemail.
They call constantly it is so irritating! I even removed my number from their list.
funny how everyone that calls from this number is named john. If you do not want them to bother you just start laughing at the caller and they will hang up on you. Additionaly I called the number back and was placed on the do not call list whereby I was informed that it would take 30 to 60 days to go into effect.

What options does one have to defend themselves against intrusive callers?
? The Do Not Call list (Federal or State)
Works, but is effective against ONLY "legitimate" telemarketers. Political callers, surveys and some other callers are exempt. Scammers ignore the DNC list.
A system offered by some telephone providers, to help automatically block robocalls. Google "nomorobo" to see if it works with your phone provider.
? Shouting, screaming, swearing at the caller
Nope. Does not stop calls. May make you hoarse, and will disturb nearby people.
? Call blocker app, device or service
Could be a good choice (even though the scammers can use fake phone numbers), and some apps are free!
Google "call blocker" for more information, or check your favorite online sales site for a list.
Your phone provider may also offer blocking services. Check their web page for information.
If you cannot use any of the above defenses, then:
? Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
? Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers! All that does is verify your phone number! And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.
? If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar). Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.
They keep calling even when I answer they don't respond. This is very annoying and where can you go to make them stop.
unwated phone call from 909-340-2134
no message. c
Thanks for the info. Got called today, answered and they hung up.
I have been getting telemarketer calls about a variety of schemes for over three years. Since it is unlawful to call people on the Do Not Call Registry most of the calls (> 95%) are off-shore boiler rooms.
They spoof their phone number to include a U.S. area code.
Years ago a friend sold magazine subscriptions out of Mexico. So that's a possibility along with Costa Rica.
They usually change their number every call to avoid call blocking. So these people appear a little different in that regard.
I recently inquired about AT&T U-verse in which I had to give them some personal information prior to setting up an install date, which I subsequently cancelled. Within a few weeks I got a letter and later a call from Hyundai in Florida (I live in California). They were offering a 'pseudo' pre-approved loan for pre-owned vehicles at a nearby Hyundai dealership. I am almost certain they got my address from AT&T -- but I could be wrong.
But it does make the skeptic in me wonder if this telemarketer at 909-340-2134 got my telephone number from AT&T as well.
Or perhaps from Sprint who I contacted last week. They were also offering a 'free' Samsung Tab 3 Android tablet (similar to this telemarketer) if you would sign a two-year contract for $10 per month if you only use WiFi.
Again, I am reasonably certain they are off shore -- these folks are very tricky, aren't they?
received a call twice this week. He says "Hi, my name is John. Can you hear me okay?" Both times he says the exact same thing. First time I hung up. Second time I said don't call me again.
Calls three to four times a day. When i CALL THEM BACK I LEAVE MESSAGE TO TAKE OFF THEIR LIST. STILL CALLING.
RECIEVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER. RANG ONCE I ANSWERED. SOME GUY SAID IT WAS READERS SWEEPSTAKES I SAID GREAT AND HUNG UP...
Got a call from this number yesterday, "Hello this is john, I'm calling from long distance... can you hear me?" and then they hung up. It sounded like a male Siri. they keep calling
Received a call this morning. Left no message. I called back it had a recorded message, but didn't identify the company. It did offer to be placed on their "Do Not Call List". It said that may take weeks before acknowledged. I just received another call a few minutes ago. I have 'call block' so it only rang once.
only thing i have done different is signed up for the concealed carry magazine. could it be them that shared my info?
They called and stated that I was in a sweepstakes and could win blah blah blah, I hung up mid sentence!
I keep getting calls from this number and I answered once and a voice came on saying I'm a grand prize contestant for a million dollars but I've never given anyone my info and he said its because I have a visa or master card so I hung up then they called the next day and I answered it it started the exact same way so I hung up
I have gotten several calls from this number over several day. I don't answer and they don't leave a message. I wish they would take the hint.
Calls 5 times a day. Something about a sweepstake. Relentless calling
I have had a bunch of calls from this number . I am on the do not call list but they still keep calling. When I called them I asked that my number be removed from the call list . Still the calls keep coming.
2-4 calls every day. I don't answer; they hang up without leaving a message. ID indicates Pomona area.
Been getting a couple calls from this number under the name of David Heginger a few times a week saying that I'm won $1 million and he's calling long distance.
Several calls from this number. Finally answered. Guy says his name (I don't remember it), says it's long distance, goes into a spiel about Publishers Clearing House, I'm entered to win a million dollars and other cash prizes. He also goes into things I could purchase to up my odds at winning, etc. It's actually an interactive recording..."he" will ask questions, you respond, and he responds appropriately to your response....kinda cool, but a pain the the butt. I have my 11 year old daughter to thank...she saw a place online on the computer at my work to enter to win for Publishers Clearing House (we are quite poor - she was trying to "help")...now I'm getting spammed with email and phone calls! I guess since she "solicited" the calls, my "do not call" registration doesn't apply. But since they are calling my cell (can't afford a home phone, boss pays for cell), I will just go online to my cell provider and block the calls from there....
Keep on calling me and if it is important they should leave a message..This is very ANNOYING.... SOMETIMES 3 TO 5 TIMES A DAY.
Randal And Tausha Davis
caller he said I could win a billion dollars he was over seas and he spoke clear English he wanted to know if I had a American express or credit card
Got 3 calls so far today and no msg or response. This is very annoying. Please quit calling.
They call here this morning. PLEASE get them to stop calling me. or I WILL REPORT IT.
I too keep getting call from this number. No one response when I answer or they never leave a msg. At least 2 - 5 times a day. What's up with this?
I received a call about 30mins ago today and it was from a guy name john from pch, trying to give me a free tablet or diamond watch, but I have to PAY for a magazine subscription for 60 months at a cost of 16.83/month. This is a scam. Pch does not I repeat DOES NOT MAKE YOU purchase anything if they are offering you something for free. The recording said I would get a follow up call which I did, about 10 minutes later and the representative starts talking and saying let me get your card on file blah blah so I didn't feel right. I said never mind I thought it was free! He said it's complimentary with the purchase of the magazine. So he became very hostile and hung up on me... All I have to say is SCAM, SCAM,SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!
Will not stop calling me. When I say hello they hang up.
