Even better - after you save the number as a contact assign them the ring tone "no ring".  Thats what I did when I was getting calls for Michael the Deadbeat.

If you do not wish to receive calls from a caller, simply save them as a contact by giving their number a name, something that at you will recognize at a glance. A line of letters, symbols anything to remind you that this is an unwanted caller. If you owe money or do not wish to deal with them just do not answer the phone when a new number comes up on your phone. Instead, come back to this website, check if their number is part of this database of fellow members of this forum and do what you want with that knowledge.

If you do owe money, consider whether you might be able to pay the debt in a reasonable amount of time. You and your credit rating might thank yourself later.

I've been following this procedure for a year and a half and have never had to talk to a collection agent. Try it next time.

Some collectors call the neighbors to ask questions about the whereabouts of the debtor or to get personal information such as the type and source of employment etc. This is a lesson to all, if you don't have to reveal information for a loan, don't reveal any. Only share information you absolutely have to provide to the creditor and nothing else. Ask them if you really need it because you are concerned about identity theft.

i ASKED THEM TO MAIL ME A COPY OF THE BILL, THEY HAVE NOT.  IT IS FROM A LAB THAT MY DR. USED TO USE UNTIL EVERYBODY COMPLAINED ABOUT THEIR SCREWED UP BILLING.

I had a missed message call from them. A machine left a message that didn't make any sense. I called them back, it rang a bunch of times and then said to "Please remain on hold for our next available agent. Your call is very important to us." Eventually a male answered and said something garbled. I asked him to repeat it and he refused, asking "who are you trying to reach sir"? I said I had just had a missed call and was trying to ascertain who called me. He then asked for my phone number and then I hung up.

Pretty fishy.

How strange to get a phone call and when you answer you are on hold.  They ask you to keep holding for the next representative.  I had no idea who was calling and was not about to hold for an unidentified party.  So I hung up and tried to call back to see who was calling.  When it was answered you were on hold.  So I checked t his web site and sure enough it was a d___ bill collector.  I do not have any unpaid bills so they must be calling the wrong number.  This makes me want to disconnect my land line and just use my cell phone for service.

They deal with collection of medical bills in the state of Kansas. They are very difficult to deal with. They refuse to handle business by mail. Even if you choose to answer their call, there never seems to be anyone on the line.

This  number started calling me about two weeks ago.  They called asking for Gary Yarborough. I had my number changed and the  same day I had it changed, they called my new number that same night once again they asked for  Gary Yarborough but this time it was a recording and said if this was the wrong number for Gary to punch the 4.  Like a fool I punched the number and knew immediately I had messed up. .I will be getting in touch with my phone carrier in the morning about this  because when this number was checked on the internet  it came up as suspected spam.  I would certainly like to know who is behind this and also who else I can report this to.

THIS COMPANY KEEPS CALLING MY NUMBER OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I  DID SLEEP DAYS AND WORKED EVENINGS AND NIGHTS  UNTIL I GOT BEAT UP IN MY APARTMENT AFTER SOME PEOPLE FOLLOWED ME HOME AFTER  WORK  ONE WEEKEND. I  AM NOW IN WITNESS PROTECTION , NO LONGER HAVE COMPUTER OF MY OWN . ONLY HAVE CHEAP TELEPHONE IN BORROWED APARTMENT UNTIL MINE GETS FIXED . THESE PEOPLE THINK I AM A GIRL OR HAVE A GIRL . I AM HERE TRANSIENT FROM LOUISIANA AFTER HURRICANE RELOCATION !  THIS MORNING WHEN I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK JUDY JORDON ANSWERED THE TELEPHONE ONCE AND TOLD ME IT WAS KANSAS COUSELORS INCORPORATED AND ASLED IF SHE COULD HELP ME . THE FEDERAL MARSHALL TOLD ME TO HANG UP IMMEDIATELY .  THEY REDIALED THE NUMBER AND THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED WAS RECORDED FOR EVIDENCE OF ILLEGAL BLIND CALLING ACROSS STATE  LINES AND HARASSMENT .

CALLED BY THIS  KANSAS COUNSELORS INCORPORATED NOW FOR OVER ONE MONTH .COMPUTER GENERATED CALLS MOST TIMES .THEN A PERSON WHO SAYS MAY I HELP YOU, ONLY ; UNTIL TODAY  . ONCE A DAY, OFTEN MORE THAN ONCE A DAY ; LOOKING FOR A GIRL . MANY TIMES MY WIFE HAS ANSWERED . WE HAVE A NEW BABY . THE CALLS WAKE MY WIFE AND NEW BABY UP, MORNING EVENING. MY WIFE DOES NOT SPEAK ENGLISH , BEING FROM CENTRAL MEXICO .  NOW SHE IS MORE AND MORE TIRED AND IS BECOMING SUSPICIOUS I HAVE ANOTHER WOMAN OR SOMETHING . I WORK 3 PART TIME JOBS TO FEED HER AND BABY AND KEEP THEM WARM AND SAFE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THEY ARE CALLING AND THEY DO NOT BELIEVE ME, THEY YELL AT MY WIFE IN ENGLISH. UNKIND AND STUPID  AMERICANS THEY ARE  THERE .

I too received a call from said number. It has to be a bill collect.

Bill collector...they just called me. Some automated lady with a British accent. Probably something medical as those are the only outstanding bills I have.
