Got it too.  Apprenalty wohever it is wents crazy on arch 7th sending out these texts!!!!  I just deleted it since I do not have a card with them, but wrote down the info to check it out just in case.  Glad I did!

I received one of these calls on Mar 7.
I don't trust anyone any more.
I don't hace an HBC MC and as I work for a financial institution, I know they never contact anyone in this manner.
I urge anyone that gets these types of messages to report them to the company that they are seeming to represent, so they  (in this case HBC) can use their fraud depts to track these people and possible stop this.

I received a text as well this morning.  Thankfully I do not have  Mastercard so realized right away that it wasn't legit.

Report your experience to the police immediately. Quite frankly, I find it disgraceful that a phone number can be activated anonymously or with bogus contact information in this day and age. Why on earth is it acceptable practice for companies like Bell, Rogers and Telus to do this? Presumably, the profits they make from facilitating telephone based crimes are large.

No credit card company will text your cell over an issue with your account. Thank G-d for sites like this one - I used to be naive enough to fall for a lot of this stuff. What I wonder is what these people get out of screwing with all of us this way?

you should never call them back, that's how they get your info
