If you are getting calls from this phone # 914-740-1896, you need to be careful not to give them any personal information.
They say they are SECURE ID and that they are sending you a letter. They will ask a lot of personal questions once you start answering any questions. They are phishing for information on you.
You need to report their Phone# to the :National DO NOT CALL REGISTRY" Compliant website

Stop calling!!!  The caller ID shows Senior Watch. A look up of the # shows MOD. Either way you won't see me donating to them. They apparently can afford to call people 24 hours a days so they sure don't need my measly $1, They shot themselves in the foot with this unwanted crap.

Don't give them a cent. Most of the money goes to pay the call center people. They robocall me several times  a day.

The March of Dimes charity, which frequently describes its name on your caller ID as ?MOD,? has been phoning frantically leading up to the Christmas holiday. The ten phone numbers I have seen from them, and blocked since 10/18/11, include 240-210-7121, 410-202-0116, 571-261-0034, 804-234-9034, 914-368-2551, 914-368-2553, 914-740-1892, 914-740-1895, 914-740-1896 and 914-740-1897.

I?d recommend that everyone who receives one of these calls block these numbers or, if you have no call blocking telephone equipment, that you simply not answer the phone.

How good a charity is the March of Dimes? The following description of ?MOD? is from the current Wikipedia article:

How much money could be left for those who really need some help after paying the March of Dimes president over $600,000 per year and absorbing the expense of the vicious phone call campaign they are putting on just now? Please make your donations locally to a legitimate charity that will spend most of it on those who are in dire need rather than on lining the pockets of the charity officers and other ?administrative expenses.?

I'm not sure it is The March of Dimes. I get calls from the March of Dimes several times a week and my caller ID says March of Dimes.
This number and 9147401892 , 5712610034 , 8042349034 , 4102020116 , 2402107121 and several
others say MOD and when I answer which is several times all I get is a dial tone. I would call them back but I don't carry a long distance service.

Please stop.  We must get any wheres from 3-10 calls a day from MOD.  THIS IS NOT A GOOD THING.....STOP

I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST.  I am so tired of being awakened from a sound sleep by this caller.
And then the calls continue all day.  I'd just like to say I do donate to charities, mostly our Veterans and do not wish to add The March of Dimes to my list.  Or any other organizations for that matter.

I thought when I signed up for the DO NOT CALL LIST that was all I needed to do.  I get calls from other unsolicited numbers as well and  am glad to have found this site.  I will be listing those numbers as well.  At least the MOD identifies who they are when you call the number back.

Callers with No Name, Private, etc. should be ashamed of themselves for callng people and not identifiying who they are.  I only answer calls when I know who is calling............. period!

My number is lited in the Do Not Call data base, yet I received a hang-up call from this number.

Am receiving many calls daily, at night and even weekends from this number. My number is for our use in case of medical emergencies. Phone carriers should be fined $1000 per call after being notified their customers at 914-740-1896  are scammers. The carrier is aiding and abetting criminal activities. Reports to DNC are worthless.

12/13/11  4:15pm  Caller hung up after answering picked up.  No msg.

We get calls from (MOD 1-914-740-1896) several times each day.   No message is left and no body answers the phone.  I will never donate to anyone again.  We have been getting calls from NRA, ASPCA and others using these same tactics.

Driving me nuts - calls all day - everyday!  It is the March of Dimes (appears as "MOD" in call i.d.)  When calling the number back to get removed from their list you must first press "1" to "get more info about the March of Dimes, only then are you offered another choice which allows you to get removed from the list.  I selected "3" to get off the list so I think you don't have to listen to their whole propaganda script to get right to the removal process.  Just press "1" then pres "3" when the script begins.  Good luck!

I don't know why the March of Dimes would be called me constantly sometimes 5 times a day and sometimes late like 10:30 PM.  This is totally ridiculous and I think the FCC should s tep in and put a stop to this

914-740-1896 and similar are from the March of Dimes. I don't usually answer numbers I don't recognize but I answered a call that was from the Am Heart Association and now they are coming out of the woodwork calling me from all sorts of charitable organizations..

MOD: Called this number and followed instructions to enter my number so that it could be removed from their list---each time I entered it correctly but they repeated back a different number--obviously they don't want you to be able to remove your number.

I continue to receive calls from the MOD. You might try and answer the call, but quickly hang up. It doesn't cost you anything like having to call their long-distance number. Yes, it IS annoying and may be troublesome but if done enough times, their computer generated calling may kick you out of their system. I've done this with other callers and it seems to work approximately 50% of the time if you're lucky.

stop calling my number.  i know it must be a computer as it only rings once   then there is no one to talk  to PLEASE STOP CALLING MY NUMBER.

I tried the tip of calling back, pressing "1" and at the end of the recording, opting out of the calls. They say it could take 30 days. I hope it works as they call about 4 days each week - the earliest at 8:05am.

I get many calls too..twice a day for the past few days. It aways says MOD but you get totally different numbers. I just dont answer any more and hopefully they will stop calling.
recieved calls from 240-210-7121, 914-740-1896, 914-740-1892, 410-202-0116. My advice is never even to answer the calls and the computer will soon indicate a bad number and the calls will stop.

My wife and I have given to the march of dimes in the past but will never do so again. This is abuse and harassment pure and simple.
I ended up going to their website and leaving them a nasty message in their contact window (with fake contact info of coarse)
I would suggest we all do the same and perhaps they will get the message. Believe it or not I recently had this work with another website. Just make sure you leave fake contact info. In fact I just used the word fake in all the windows to make sure they knew it.

MOD  shows on the caller ID....they never leave a message and have call about 15 times in the last couple of weeks.  I also will NEVER give money to an over the phone soliciter...and never to March of Dimes.

I never answer this call 914-740-1896, but they keep calling almost everyday.  I hope this message will stop calling us.
