Recieved a call at work asking for a previous employee. The caller was very aggresive and had a very heavy Indian accent, he told me his name was Mark Brown, and he was from the  Attorney Generals office.   After a frustrating  exchange, I told him that I could not give out personal contact information on anyone, and I would need something in writing from his office.  The caller then asked me to contact his supervisor George Beloski right away at 916-469-8857, and provide requested information.  The call was rediculous, and no way would the Attorney Generals office conduct business that way, so as soon as I hung up, I googled the name George Beloski and found that others had received similar phone calls.

Telemarketer
Well, Jan 6, 2014 was a red letter day for me as far as telemarketing calls go.  I got 62 calls in one day.  Yep, SIXTY-TWO.  Most of them were from various pay day loan jerks, but the guy who called from this number (916-244-1387) was the most fun.  He called about 10 to 12 times within about a 20-30 minute time period.  I usually don't answer or return telemarketing calls, but this one was really ticking me off so I broke my rule & called the number.  He immediately launched into some BS about the police were coming to my house, he was from the attorney general's office, I was going to be arrested (never did say why) blah blah blah.  When I laughed at him and told him to stop reading his script, he got flustered and started calling me names.  I told him that I knew he was a scammer and he could stop calling me because I wasn't going to buy into his stupid game.  He said he was going to keep calling me anyway.  I said, OK and that I'd return every one of his calls. So, I went through the call list on my phone and immediately returned every call he had already made.  He answered every time and got more and more agitated with every call I made to him.  Ha! It was great to turn the tables on one of these jerks.  He never called back.

I don't know why anyone would believe that the AG's office or a police agency would have some Indian dude call you to tell you the police were coming to  your house to arrest you.  Stop and think...does that make any freaking sense?  No.  Use your heads and stop buying into the cr** these idiots pull. It just encourages them to bother the rest of us.

A friend got a call from this number, he called me because I am an attorney.  I called and the person answering the phone said, Attorneys' General Office.  Hmmm, isn't it the "Attorney General's Office?"  I spoke to "George Belowski" "Senior Attorney."  I told him I was an attorney and he hung up on me.  I waited a few minutes called back and used my friend's name.  He pulled the "file" and read the "affidavit" which included lying on a credit application.  When I denied all of it, he asked, "Did you apply for an online loan within the last week?"  I said "No."  He said I was lying and "the police will be at your work to arrest you and you will serve 7 years no bail."  I started laughing and he hung up.  Because I was annoyed, I called back and spoke to "George" and told him that he was a fraud, I was a lawyer and that isn't how things work in the USA.  He told me there was nothing I could do to stop them and that he was going to harass the f&^% out of my friend until he paid.  I assured them he was not going to do pay.  He then asked me how much I charge for a night and told me that he had a big d%$#.  I told him he couldn't afford an hour of my time let alone an entire evening, and that I didn't accept rupees.  He got flustered and hung up.

Got a message on my work voice mail from a man with a heavy accent stating he was John McCarthy and was calling regarding my social security number and even had the last 4 digits. Stated it was urgent to call back and if I didn't he wished me luck? What a joke, who does that. The number he asked that I call back was 916-244-1387. I called back and received a busy signal. I have no idea what he is talking about but definitely scary.

In America, debt is civil, not criminal, so no matter WHAT anyone tells you, you are NOT going to be arrested and jailed even if you have defaulted on a loan or other consumer debt.  It is also illegal to threaten people with arrest for failure to pay back debt.  Your callers are most definitely scammers.  Legitimate, law-abiding collections agencies do NOT threaten people and they ALWAYS mail a debt validation letter showing that the person owes a debt and they have the legal right to collect said debt.  They also do not call people out of the blue stating that the sheriff is on their way to arrest them unless they pay x amount of dollars.  Please do report your callers to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.

They called me yesterday told me the sheriff was coming to arrest me for and send me to jail for 7 years unless I paid $1487.10. He said his name was George and was calling from Sacramento district attorneys office. Scared me to death was in the phone with him for an hour he wanted me to send him money they green.dot card. I almost fell for it. Scared that it was true i went to ATM took money out and went to a local store to purchase this card and load the money. He didn't let me get off the phone. He threaten me saying if I hung up that he would tell local law enforcement that I wasn't cooperating.  We lost connection and he called me again using my work phone number, the local police department number and even the San Bernardino number. I never spoke to him again and because I wasn't sure what was going on I went to my local police department and they ran my ID and it was clean. This guy is a jerk and this is totally a scam. Don't believe him. I also reported his number to our local DA office. Total scam!  Don't believe a word!

These people called my Fiance this morning and totally freaked us both out. They started calling at about 5am. Then they told him that he had lied about his income on a credit application, which was a Federal offense. They told him that the police were on their way to come get him right now.

This man with a foreign accent called me three times until I answered. He said he was a paralegal calling from the state attorney's office and that I have a pending lawsuit against me. He said that if I didn't take care of it that I would have a warrant out for my arrest. I asked him who had filed against me and he could not answer, just told me to call Josh Belowski at 916-244-1388. I told him to transfer me and he said he couldn't. I then told him this was all BS and if something was going on I would have it in writing. He got mad and hung up on me.

He said i had a pending lawsuit against me and if I was aware of it?  I told the caller no, he said very important to call George Belowski at 916-244-1387 ext 5620 and he would be able to talk to me & help me with this lawsuit.  I called the number and got a busy signal.  Then I called a 2nd time & I think the same guy who had called me answered.  I just hung up.  The caller is very hard to understand.
