The caller ID says "Absolute Floor". A recorded message was left on the answering machine about business rankings. Basically, another "Don't Bother To Answer Because It's A Scam For Money".

Probably one of those companies that wants to give you "leads" for more business and then charges out the wazoo for it. We have tried them in the past and they are not worth it.

These b****ipes called our company this morning with an automated message. Apparently this is yet another Google-based scam (or the same one with a different tactic) because the message apparently is tailored to target whatever company your company is listed under. For example, the message I got was, "If you do HVAC services and you need more customers, press 1 now. Please press 1 now, or press 8 to be removed from the calling list." I pressed nothing and it disconnected. I blocked our # and called them back. A guy introduced himself by his first name and said something like, "Let me start off by getting your first and last name." I asked him his company's name. He hesitated and then said it was Ad Worth and mentioned something about Google. I asked him, "Why does the caller ID show 'Absolute Floor'? Did you know it's illegal to spoof your information?" He claimed the info wasn't spoofed. I repeated my question and then asked if he was aware that their prerecorded message was in violation of FCC requirements. He asked if I was a lawyer. I told him, no, just someone who knows the law better than you, apparently. He hung up. I called back again several times but my call (mysteriously) wouldn't go through. Then it finally did and I spoke with another man, who identified himself as "Dan." I then explained my previous conversation and explained WHY their message was in violation of FCC requirements, told him, "Good day," and hung up. I'm betting the ignoramaces wish they had spoofed their phone number instead of just their name.

They're grabbing your number off Craigslist, then sell to you by whatever prompt you use when you answer.

If you want more customers for your Janitorial service press 1 now, press 8 to be removed, I pressed 8 and it started all over so I pressed 8 again.
