This makes me sick! I am a caregiver, and I have an account on Care.com that is set up to let families seeking care, notify me if they're interested in my services.

A few days ago I got a text from this #: 1 (862) 243-5928

It said: "Need a Senior caregiver,Kindly send your resume/refrences to me my email courtabney@gmail.com from care.com.Thanks, Courtney"

So I emailed her my resume. Later that evening, I got this reply from her:
"Hello,Thank you for your response.I live in New York  but we are moving to your area on 1st of June. I will need Senior caregiver immediately between the hours of 8am through 1pm Monday to Friday. Do let me know if the time works. More importantly, My mom is currently placed on a wheelchair due to an accident she had some weeks ago.She can walk a few distance though but the specialist advised she uses the chair for a while.The rate is $15/hour.She is 66yrs old and I really need a honest and responsible care for her. This could be a temporary/permanent job. It depends on what your schedule looks like but I do like to be sure if you are available for the first month.I am planning on getting her a powered wheelchair and have contacted a seller.I will let you know as soon as we finalize issues.I will like you to send me your complete name, address and cell phone number so I can include that to my payroll for the period. I also will like you to tell me a few things about yourself.Here is a little about me. I am a single mother,I am 39 and I am hard of hearing. I have lived in New York all my life but I am moving to your area in a few weeks. I have my own business(Self Employed) which is based on the development and canceling of the deaf people in the community. I am never married and  I attend the catholic.You will get to know more when we meet.Kindly include in your email your picture, your complete name,address and  your mobile number and  so I can text you in case I need to pass an urgent information.

I had a funny feeling when I read her email to me, and now I'm sure this is a scam--as the writing in my email is virtually identical to some that I've read here. SCAM SCAM SCAM...BEWARE!!!!

I received a text in regard to an item I placed For Sale on Craigslist. Caller refers to himself as "Dan" and offers additional $ to hold the item for pick up and asks for name and address.  I asked if he wanted to see it in person first and he says his movers will pick it up.  BEWARE this is a scam!

I had the same thing with same e-mail I had been e-mailing for days and was going to meet Ricky and Jason next Sunday!

Researched and didn't respond, something didn't feel right about it.

Did she steal it after the emailing of your résumé, or before?

I just got the SAME exact message from "Ricky" at rickyrosejohn@gmail.com from my contact # on Care.com.  TOOK MY PHONE # OFF OF THERE IMMEDIATELY!   THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!  I am glad that I looked it up before sending my resume!

Text was sent from 917-725-7352 stating "I am looking for a babysitter for my son starting from 12th of August. We need someone who is responsible, reliable, and flexible! email your resume to me my email is rickyrosejohn@gmail.com From care.com Thanks Ricky"

I called, no answer. I texted back and reported them to care.com. I have closed my account due to the fact that they have my personal information and care.com has become an untrustworthy source.

This scammer is using same email address but another phone number. The number I received text from requesting my resume' is 516-953-9126. email amandanikkismith@gmail.com

I just got a text from someone saying they wanted me to email my resume and references to the same email: amandanikkismith@gmail.com. I could tell it was a scam because no one texts me asking for my resume.

I received the same message from ricky rose but from 6464394599.

I received the same thing and like Kristina stated the name was Amanda and son Jason.

I just sent this person my résumé and pic aahhhh what should I do now?

I received this email and thanks to this forum I realize it was a scam.  I froze everything!

The same thing just happened to me ...did any of you receive the wheelchair ...the only diffrence was her name is amanda and her sons name is jason on mine ....

it just happened to me to... its a scam.

This just happened to my nanny who will be leaving us soon. She called to ask me how she could do it because the dates they wanted her to start, she would still be working for me. I told her that I would never hire anyone to watch my children without first meeting them, I mean let alone a special needs child. I knew something smelled of rotten phish.

I received the same text as did NVLeader and sent my resume because I am listed in a babysitter caregiver website so I thought it was legit.  The email is exactly what the above says-I am so angry,  My identity was stolen in Tampa last year and my taxes were filed with the IRS and the crook received the refund.  This has to be stopped.  I did received a photo of a woman and a child.  I should have known by their broken English that they may be a scammer but since I am looking for work,,,that this was real.  Now they have my resume.

what can we do?

We recieved a text requesting my girl friend to email her resume to rickyrosejohn@gmail.com from same cell # 917-634-8165. She did and then received back this bogus email.
