I received a call from this number as well.. its Central Security. They monitor alarm services from my local security company (Smith monitoring). My alarm did go off and they were calling to check on me.
It is legit!!!

These folks at Guardian are idiots. I find post after post where they call and don't leave a message ,

I received a call at 4 am ,, I missed it but promptly called them back ,, they have no Idea Why they called
and I have no dealings with anyone Who would put Me down for a contact incase of an Alarm activation .

I asked them to pull My #  out of the system ..  She didn't know how ,, Lovely

They didn't know how since I couldn't provide them with an address.

I would say after reading this site's post about calls folks are getting  Who have no dealings with Guardian that This company is incompetent.

Its a ligit number, its the alarm company calling because your alarm is going off.

GUARDIAN IS A POS COMPANY - I REPORTED THEM TO THE TEXAS DPS AND THEY INVESTIGATED THEM - GUARDIAN MADE CORRECTIONS AND WERE FINE FOR A YEAR AND NOW THIS $HIT BEGINS AGAIN.  THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER ON YOUR CONTRACT FYI  - THEY CLAIM THEY NEVER RECEIVE YOUR CANCEL NOTICE AND THEY JUST KEEP BILLING YOU WITHOUT GIVING YOU SERVICE.

I KEEP GETTING CALLS FROM 918 - 836 3336 ON MY EXPENSIVE CELL PHONE AND I HAVE REGISTERED IT ON THE NO CALL LIST.

This is from Guardian Security.  They were calling me to finish up the paperwork on my new alarm system.

somethings not right with these calls i get them everynow and then. i have no alam never had. just get a bad feeling with this call. i don't really care if it is a "real company" i will always ignore.

Yes, this is the number to an alarm co. monitoring station. if you have an alarm in your home and it comes off you will get a call making sure that everything is ok or if the police needs to be called.

I am too in Houston, but the monitoring system for my alarm is located in OK.  The called to let me know there was an activation on my alarm from Guardian Security.  I would recommend answering this call.  I let it go to voice mail and they left a message telling me about my alarm going off.

Calls into my cell phone. Recorded message says "We haven't received a test signal from your number in a while, Call us for a free test". I have no idea what this is about

Legit call
It is from guardian security in Utah. I have them as monitors for my alarm system.
If the alarm is not cycled within a period of a week,
They will call you to see if everything is ok.
It is a pain but I guess they are on their toes as to looking out for me.

I recently received a call on my cell phone, as well, but I did not answer it because I did not recognize the number. It was this number, and I did a Google search on it, and found this site. However I traced the 918 area code to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where this Guardian Security Systems, Inc. is located. They did not leave a voicemail, nor did I call them back. I think they got the wrong number because I am in Houston, Texas, nor do I use their service. Thanks for leading me to this number!

Someone from Central Security called my cell wanting me to forward a message to someone else.  I have no clue who this other person is.  Told them they have the wrong number but they were persistent that I pass along the message.  Told them again I am not associated with who they were trying to reach in any fashion.  Guess the original person needs to update their records???

This is now Central Sercurity Monitoring. They call if no signal is received from the main console after a week. They monitor several states across the south and mid west.

A person named "Misty" from Central Security called my cell and said there was an alarm set off and to call this 1-888-642-4567 number. I don't do business with them so I figured maybe someone put me on their contact list? I dunno, so I called it back and they had me on hold for a LONG time. Finally hung up. Guess it's not an emergency and started figuring it was just some sales ploy. Frankly, that would be a sad stunt for telemarketing. I wouldn't do business with a company that would resort to those tactics.

This number called my home, cell, and work number on a Thurs. evening all within a 5 minute period. I have a monitored system BUT I just called my burglar alarm co. who is a LOCAL company and they said they never heard of Guardian and nor do they "farm out" their monitoring service to anyone!
So for me, this was NOT a legit call and it bothers me a TON that they called all 3 of my numbers that are supposedly ALL unlisted!!! If they call again, I will be reporting it to my state attorney general's office and the BBB.

Didn't answer call didn't recognize number. Called it back and machine picked up said it was Centralized Security and to hold for a rep....I hung up

It IS Central Security. They monitor several brands and company systems commercial and residential across the south and mid west. They could be calling for an active alarm, billing or past due account. Answer it and correct them if it is a wrong number. They have up to four contacts with each account. Let them know if its a wrong number. They are also (Maybe Formerly) known as Guardian Security. They are now part of Central security group.

Caller called on my cell and said that is was Central Security and asked for a Ms. Perry.  Advised them of wrong number.  Not the first time they have called, asking for other names

Female caller asked for someone that does not work here and I told her so and she said thank you and hung up.

It called about 7am pacific time, I did not anwere the call not knowing the number. A message was left and all you could hear is either a car driving or something typing like on a regular type writer. The leght of the message about 10 seconds.
