A word of advice for all unwanted (scam) calls....DO NOT answer the phone or let your answering machine to pick up. If you answer/machine....it tells the scamers they have reached a good working number & they will continue to call you and if you press a number to be taken off the list....it's the same thing. You are just helping these a$$holes. Just don't answer at all.....eventually they will realize it's not a good number. Use some common sense.

got a call about back braces told to press 1 if interested. I did so in order to tell someone to not call again. Got a recording saying someone would contact me in 24 hours and hung up. I tried to call the number back and got a "number is disconnected" message.
This number is on the "do not call" registry which so far I have found to be useless.

It has nothing to do with Obamacare, it is simply an offer taking advantage of a Medicare benefit.

Did not answer, msg said to press 1 to get information about the offer at no cost.

According to the North Carolina Attorney General's office - This is a SCAM and they urge people NOT to answer the call or provide ANY INFORMATION to these individuals.
They are telling NC residents that this is an attempt to defraud the public into revealing information that could be used for Medicare and/or Medicaid fraud.
If you have further info about the caller you are urged to contact the NC AG office and give the info to the consumer protection division.
The calls are NOT coming from within the 919 area code, this is a faked number from an internet phone system.

Identified themselves as company "Senior Care". Says they are selling back braces via Medicare. Both numbers on caller ID are bogus. SCAM.

I found out the other day that after a member of your family turns 65, our government sends all of your info to insurance companies..Isn't that lovely. The Insurance told me that is how he got our number.

Called at 8:30 a.m. Says that if you're on Medicare or Medicaid and need a back brace, press 1 now. I did nothing. After about 30 seconds, got a "busy" tone.

919-881-5484. Don't answer the call.
| Virtualguy 2013-09-04 13:53:17 Unknown |
Left no message, just hung up. I dialed the number back a little later. Got the da-da-de tone and the message "disconnected or no longer in service.". So, either they are spoofing the number, or the the "no longer in service" message is bogus.
In any event, this is an underhanded way to hide their identity and trick someone into answering their call. Well, to bad for them, because I always let my calls go to voicemail. All of them.
Keep wasting your time, morons.
