And just as a reminder, your financial institution will NEVER ask you for your card number, PIN and Secure Card Code (on the back of the card). To be on the safe side, when you receive any calls like this, always call your bank directly or the number on the back of your card.

What is the number to report Phishing?
| HC 2013-08-03 16:49:58 Unknown |
My bank did cancel my card, but as I stated I did call and stupidly gave them the account number, expiration date and security ID (back of card) before I bailed when they asked for the PIN. They said that was way too much information even without the PIN. Luckily, perhaps be cause I called immediately, no funds had been transferred. Also, if funds had been transferred, I could file a dispute and get the money back to my account.
Stay alert, and learn from my mistake. Now I have to wait 7 to 10 days and 3 more days for the PIN.

I would call my bank anyway, and make sure they don't want to cancel you card. My bank did cancel mine, but I did call and stupidly gave them the account number, expiration date and security ID (back of card) before I bailed when they asked for the PIN.

I got the text message too, at 6:47 AM 8/3/13. My credit unions web account is the normal route for messages about my account. I called this texted number, it and went way too far before becoming convinced it was a scam, putting in my account and expiration date, even the 3 digit security code on the back. When it asked for the PIN, I finally woke up and bailed. Also, it uses really crappy voice synthesis technology that sounds like it's from the late 80's, should have been enough of a warning right there! So, learn form my ignorance. Well be contacting the CU now, and let them know what I did.

My husband got this too this morning via a text message. It's BOGUS!~ You do not need to cancel your card. They don't have your numbers so don't give them to them.

I got the same message. Is it actually necessary to cancel my debit card, or is this just purely phishing?
