I also received the same call.  The area code was in Fillmore California.  I will report to the FTC, although I doubt anything can be done.  It is disturbing to know someone has our personal information.  I closed my bank account today and will be doing a credit alert soon.  I hope something gets done, but if they are operating overseas, I think we are out of luck.  The pay day loan companies should be held responsible for not taking the proper steps securing their computer systems and alerting past, current and future customers.

Middle eastern man calls, says he is from some type of government agency, and that you will be going to jail within 48 hours if you dont pay them. Funny thing is if you actually ask for an address to send the payment to, they will tell you they cant provide you with that information and to go and get a debit card from walmart. I didnt believe them at all so I tried giving them the run around. I asked for docket #'s or case #'s legally against me.....they said I was a stupid lady. Derrrka derrrka derrrka muhammed jihad.

I have been receiving calls from a man with broken english. he states that his name is John Anderson. He told me I was going to be brought up on fraud charges but when i asked what he was talking about he just told me to be quiet. I then told him that I thought that what he was doing was a scam and he called me a stupid lady and hung up. These calls have been occurring for over a year now. He just uses different numbers to call from. He is now calling my boyfriend looking for me. This man is persistant and irritating. He told me my family was going to be in big trouble. I am sick of this idiot threatening me.

I just had this same phone call on 07-19-2010 Exactly word for word as what you have typed here. It's very troubling as they had all of my info i.e.SSI # Address etc...I have had a very restless night. Has anyone found out who a person can report this to? I have never had a "Pay Day" loan either. He told me that there are 3 charges against me. About all I could understand was that I was going to be charged with fraud. I could not understand any of his english. I also requested to talk with someone else and I told them to mail me the information so I could respond and contest it. I think he said he would email it within 21 days. This is very criminal and very disturbing. I did report this number to "The Do Not Call List" after I read this post. What Else Can I Do????

Hey all, I just received a call from this 'operation', the man called himself "Mark Jones" as well.  They were AWFUL!  Threats... telling me I was going to prison, that I'm an awful person, and then said "God help you for what you have done as only God can help you now!"  Yeah... that's not legal, and you're not in Texas, Mr. Jones.

I took the advice posted on this page (THANK YOU) and contacted the FTC.  They recommended I call Experian and file an Identity Theft 90 day fraud alert with them.  She also took my information and gave me a reference number, explaining exactly what they have told those of you who call.  They look for patterns, so PLEASE call and report these people!!

The kind woman at the FTC also advised me not to answer the calls, and not to call back.  She said it was most likely a fraud, and since they had all of my information, (some of it incorrect), that is why she asked to put the fraud alert on.  She also suggested, due to the violent nature of the phone call, I file a report with the police.  I'm going to do that now.

Take this seriously, everyone, and stay safe.

Regards,
JS42

Jus filed a complaint regarding calls from 936-657-4224.  According to FTC, this is a scam.  I have rec'd multiple, threatening calls from this number.  The gentleman calling is TOM SCOTT, however, it is quite apparent that is NOT his real name.  Please call and report any calls you receive from this number.  Do not give out any personal info.  ASK FOR THEIR MAILING ADDRESS and they will hang up on you and  stop calling.

I am getting calls from, first it was a man named Tom Scott, saying he represented the United States Department of Investigation of Special Crimes Unit, saying I have 3 major felony charges against me for a payday loan I had taken out last year. I did NOT provide him with any information, but he still had all mine. He did tell me the conversation was being recorded. I asked for someone else and he transferred me to another man....all of which spoke VERY broken english! They said they were representing the company of EME LLC. I finally told them I was not attesting to anything but, the loan is false and a scam on their part. They began getting mad. Then when I was told to shut up I told them I wanted to speak an english speaking person with an ID number and a return phone number to verify their truth behind it all. He hung up on me. THEN they called back an hour later and tried chastising me for hanging up on them! Which I did then! They called again and I answered the phone to this man yelling at me so, I said nothing and hung up again! The names of the men I spoke to were, Tom Scott, Mark Jones, Garen Smith, Kevin Smith and Nick Anderson. What can I do to stop this? They are threatening me with arrest and incarceration and calling me names???

Voicemail left by Officer something states my name and number have been used on an illegal document. He addressed me by my nickname that I use when signing up for unofficial things online, so I know it is just spam of some sort.  He had a very think accent..like an over-exaggerated Italian.

My son has been getting these same threatening phone calls for 6 months now.  It just so happened that today, I walked in the door as my son was trying to deal with this scam artist.  I grabbed the phone and told him I was the person he was looking for and I wanted him to fax me right now his charges in my name.  He asked me who I was and I told him I was with the office of special investigation for the US military.  He hung up on me and I called him back 10 times ... a little of his own medicine and left two long emails demanding his address so my attorney can send him a certified inquiry so we can investigate this guy further and his harassing military members.

This clown calls himself "officer Robert Richard"  when he calls us, same broken english, and he alone seems to be the operator here.  He keep threatening my son that there is a warrant for his arrest.  I am investigating who this scammer is and so far have found out his number is a land line located in Center, TX.

Next time you get a call from his scam artist, ask for his mailing address ... and then ask him to fax to you all charges he has on you and finally, advise him in no uncertain terms that he is in violation of federal law, the Fair Trade Act, and his harrassing better stop before you file a suit on him.

By the way ... Mr. Officer Broken English Investator's phone number is 936-657-4224.  All I can think is anyone being harrassed by this guy must have linked up with him by answering some ad and then he hooked you.  Be careful filling out "free" offers of any kind!

I called our local FBI and reported this and called the FTC and filed a complaint; below is a copy of their letter back to me.  So call the FTC as many times as you need to file a complaint on this guy.  FTC's number is: 877-382-4357.
I was advised to place my cell number or home number on the do not call list.  I believe their web is donotcall.gov but you can Google the web address or phone number.
The FTC told me Payday Load companies across the US had their computers broken into and all their personal customer files were stolen.
The FTC also told me these scammers may not even be in this country, as they manipulate the phone system to show they are calling from Texas, Nebraska, or wherever.
I've been calling this guy back and got him so riled up he began shouting, Allah, Allah, Allah and then making that funny blubblua, blubblua, blubblua chant.
Keep on this guy ... he is no doubt a non-US citizen only harassing US Citizens as part of their war campaign against the US.
Below is a copy of the letter the FTC sent to me; so file your complaint today!

Dear Tim :
Thank you for your recent correspondence.  The Federal Trade Commission acts in the public interest to stop business practices that violate the laws it enforces.  Letter from consumers and businesses are very important to the work of the Commission.  They are often the first indication of a problem in the marketplace and may provide the initial evidence to begin an investigation.  The Commission does not resolve individual complaints.  The Commission can, however, act when it sees a pattern of possible violations developing.
The information you have provided will be recorded in our complaint retention system.  This computerized system enables us to identify questionable business practices that are generating numerous complaints and may be in violation of the law.
Thank you for providing information that may be used to develop or support Commission enforcement initiatives.
