Showed up as "Deborah Read" and phone number 940-566-3568. Selling coupon cards. I offered to buy three. Kept giving them made up name and credit card number. After the umpteenth time of the "card not going through" I told them I hope I wasted enough of their time. FYI, if you keep them on the phone longer than ten minutes, they get docked pay or criticized for talking too much. Former telemarketer, so I know.

This number has been showing up on our caller id for the last week or so. After reading the messages here, it is probably the same guy/company. The name no longer reads Phil Read, it reads Deborah Read. They registered on my caller id 3 times today and if really hope they call again because they are annoying. I tried calling back and the line is busy every time. They also have 2 numbers. 940-380-0369 & 940-381-6714, same name Deborah Read.

Called, left no message, busy signal when I try to call back. From what I've read, glad I didn't pick up.

Received a call from this number. Caller hung up when I answered. I called back, someone answered but said nothing. The phone clicked several times, going from silence to the sound of a busy office. The clicking was erratic as if the person who answered couldn't get me off the line.
Caller ID read "Phil Read."
What a sorry excuse for a human being. If you've received a call from this number, I recommend calling them back. Even if all you do is hang up, at least it ties up their lines. If everyone who is harassed by this person does it, maybe it will make a difference.

What is the procedure for stopping this caller?
I will join effort.

Geez, "Dining and Shopping Spree". This is that stupid discount coupon book and the company is just pushing for sales via these unscrupulous telemarketing tactics.

Phillip Read has a history with the FCC and obviously hasn't learned his lesson. Lets stop this a$$hole.

Finally answered and had someone respond. As Leah said above, they represented them self as selling discount coupons. It may be based on locations as to the school as for us they said for Marcus HS in Flower Mound. It took them a minute to figure out what school was associated with our number which they represent on our particular call. If you understand outbound call centers and auto dialers you'll understand why the agent has no idea until the call is delivered to them. Also why many calls are dead air as it's a problem with their dialer sending calls to agents.
The company they say they represent is "Dining and Shopping". Callback number is 940-243-9161.
Based on the nature of the call and the fact that they violate FCC rules for telemarketing, not to mention it hacks me off that our school/district allows or hires a company like this to share profit by selling crap, I suggest contacting the school they say they represent although I think hammering LISD with calls and emails to make this known as an issue is in order. It needs to stop. We pay so much out of pocket as it is, we do not need our schools sending low end telemarketing companies after us at all hours and days.

Called the number back - "Taylor" answered. It is supposedly a sales call for the Lewisville/Flower Mound High School Booster Club - selling some type of entertainment/restaurant coupon books.
