Sleazy fast talker who informed me he represented google and that they had an "open spot" on first page for the google search results for my area. When I informed him my business was no longer in operation and had no budget he snapped that I should "budget myself" and hung up on me.

Claimed to be Google.

How do you already appear on the front page of google?

It is a legit company that is telemarketing, everyone can stop complaining, just asked to be removed.

Same thing as most of the above posts. Rude young lady represented herself as calling from Google, and let me know that a "spot has opened up on the front page listings in my area". I'm on the front page already.

I asked if she was calling from Google, or from a different company trying to sell me a service. She sarcastically said "oh my GOD!" and hung up on me.

I called the number back and got the Hot Spot SEM vm system, and spoke with a young lady who assured me that it must have been a misunderstanding and she offered to remove my number from their system. I'll see how long it is before I get another call from them.

I hate hangups

I just got a call from this company asking if I want to "appear on the front page of Google" results (I already do - dead giveaway this is a scam). I told him 3 times I wasn't going to pay for any service. Finally, he hung up on me.

Answered cause i was in a bad mood.  Trying to sell me something for my "Google" listing.  Don't have a "Google" listing cause I don't have a web site.  Told the guy they well all scammers, not to call me again and to go f himself.  Wonder if he got the message.  I can't block their number fast enough, as soon as I block one number, they call on another.

Total scam. Told me "good luck" Clearly reading a script designed to allow an idiot to seem like he was a professional, concerned about your search engine ranking. Since I am a web professional that knows a few things about SEO/SEM, I listened and then asked three times, "how much". He never answered and when I told him "not interested" he asked why and then tried to close me with a "I have to tell you everything first". At which point another "not interested" resulted in a rude, 'Good Luck!".

Everything this company will do, you can do with free software and a well build web site/strategy. Avoid any unsolicited SEO program offer as 99% of them are complete ripoffs.

A further note, calling back to get the company number got me on an open line in the call room. Clearly this is  a boiler room operation. I could hear all sorts of presentations going on in the background.

Just called my business claiming they were from Google and wanted to list me on the front page of Google. When I repeatedly told them that I wasn't interested, "Terry" in a loud voice said, WOW! UNBELIEVABLE!!  And hung up on me. lol

I'm sure we will be hearing from them again very soon. They called from 949-273-0150.

They've called me as well with the same line of "we can put your company on the front page of Google". As soon as my assistant told them that I (the owner) was out, the woman on the line quickly hung up on my assistant.

I just received a phone call from this same company.  Using number 949-273-0150.  They also implied that  they were with google.  They said that they could give me a top listing on google maps.  I immediately said that I was confused bc google maps was a free service.  Then their pitch was switched to i can get you the highest google ranking.  I told her to just give me her pitch and tell me the price.  She the switched me to a listing agent.  Who tried every trick in the book to try and confuse me about how Google ranking and SEO works.  (I am well aware of how google ranking works.)  Therefore, when he gave me wrong information I corrected him.  He said he could no longer make out what I was saying and he could only hear every third word I said and then he hung up.  
Both people I talked to were extremely rude, unprofessional, and gave me the creeps.

I got the exact same line from the rep that called me. Claimed very loosly that he was with google. He could get my business to the top ranking on google for up to 10 keywords. I asked him outright "So you are selling a service to get me to the #1 listing on google for up to 10 keywords for a price. I am not interested, Thank you, and good bye.

He called from the number (949) 273-0150 and upon calling that number back got the hotspotsem phone greeting.

I just got a call from them. They are very sleazy.

At first they made it seem that they were calling on from Google itself in order to see if legit companies are ranking on the first page. It gave it away when they asked "how long have you been in business." Google has a ton of signals it looks at it so how long a company has been around for. They don't need to call and ask millions of companies about this.

When I questioned her as to does she work for Google itself she replied that they "provide data services to Google." I then specifically asked her "Are you telling me that Google is paying you for your data services?" and she replied "Oh no absolutely not." It was only after I asked several questions that veered her off her script that she revealed that they try to help companies rank for Google. So she gave me 3 different stories in about 3 minutes.

This is clearly not the kind of company that you want to help you with in SEO. They probably will use blackhat SEO techniques that will get you banned from Google. Stay away!

SEO solicitor, I tried to get the name of his company, and he keeps reading his script.  I tell him to stop and answer my question and he just hangs up.

I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST, yet these people keep calling.  Thanks government, thanks.

They always start by asking whether you are the owner of the business and seem to have tough time hearing you.

SEO scam. avoid!!

I have received numerous calls (no less than 5 in the past few months) for this company - as a matter of fact, it seems like the exact same person (my work partner recognized the voice, merely from standing next to the phone)

I believe he stated his name as Terry, or something similar to Terry

We get these calls all the time (ALL THE TIME) and they are really no big deal (part of doing business in 2013), though these people are neither professional or respectful

949-273-0150 called my business and got my answering machine since I saw the number and figured it was a telemarketer.  They didn't leave a message.

They called and implied they were from Google and offered a service to get our business listed on the front page of a Google search for $995 a year.
