Got a call today statings they are the sherriffs wanting to serve papers on a relative whos a cousin but they called my cell. Hung up on me when i said i am at a law office

They called asking for an ex boyfriend of mine that I haven't seen in more than a decade.  I told them they had the wrong number and before I could even get all of the words out of my mouth the bi*** hung up on me.  This tells me that they are not a professional company.  If they were any kind of legitimate they would at the very least try to verify the number and not just hang up in mid sentence.  They are the low class shyster type of bill collectors who use scare tactics to collect money.  What pieces of sh*t they are.  Scum of the earth who don't qualify to get decent jobs...can't even hold a job at McDonalds or Burger King so they resort to sitting on their butts on the phone trying to con people out of money.  Usually the debts they are trying to collect on are out of the statute of limitations and they have zero legal ground to stand on.  

These jack***es called my son asking where I was that there is a court case and if they can't find me they would have it without me. First of all I am a law obiding citizen. Secondly I live nowhere near California!

I received a call from this number (949-381-2483) saying they were from the sheriff's department and had legal documents to serve a person that doesn't even exist in this home.  I have gotten other calls from unknown numbers saying the same information.

I keep getting calls from this number asking if I will be home for legal papers to be dropped off for a person I have never heard of. When I tell them that I don't know this person they hang up on me. When I attempt to call them back and find out where they are from or to clear it up they won't answer my calls. Plus, I live on the east coast and I have never been to California. Very annoying.

They are nothing but complete and utter frauds. Yes, their actions are illegal. Which means nothing to them because, like the cockroaches they are, they rely on staying hidden.
Ignore them or block their calls. They are completely powerless and pose no threat other than being highly irritating. Inform your friends and family of what these smoke-blowing buffoons are up to. Once everyone is aware of what these frauds are all about, we can all just sit back and laugh at them. They are nothing but a sad, sad joke.

Received calls for my ex-husband. They said they were from the Service Division, and used the name of our county in Ohio, even though I recognized the number as being from California. When I pressed for information, they had none to give, other than this was the third and final attempt to serve "legal documents." (This was at least the 15th time they'd called with this "3rd and final attempt.") These people also have contacted my brother, his wife, my husband's sister, and every other relative we have in this state! They tell all of our relatives they are trying to serve legal papers on me or on my ex. I followed the number to Windstream Communications, and my ex-husband has NEVER had any business dealings with this company, and he's never even been to CA! (Neither have I.) He's spoken with them, and they would tell him only that they were coming with legal documents, but they've never shown up. They do want his cell number and place of employment, which I course I will not provide. They told one relative they were sending the sheriff after him! Are these actions legal? I've blocked the number, but they just call from different ones! One from LA, one from Delaware, etc. How can I get rid of these people when they keep calling from different numbers??? Isn't it illegal to tell relatives they're sending the sheriff? I'm afraid to answer the phone!
