Very funny approach.  But have you thought this through?  I think you might be opening yourself up for a
lawsuit.  You know this litigious world.  Remember the burglar that got trapped in someones attic after breaking in.  And then turning around and sueing the homeowner, and WON!  Sickening but true.  So, I think I would find
a different approach rather than bursting someones ear drum for just making an unwanted phone call to you.  The response doesn't seem proportionate to the offense.  Think about it.  And the caller has your name already because they dialed the number and know who it is.  So, it would seem easy for them to identify you as the ear drum burster.  Why not just hang up and get over it.  It's not worth raising your blood pressure over.  And just go kiss your wife/girlfriend/whatever instead.

just got a call from this number.  ignored it as unrecognized.  googled the number because I have received multiple calls over the last year from same number, found this site.  satisfied my curiosity .  went back to my life now after posting this and now forgetting it.  Why become obsessed with all this nonsense.  what with the fcc and ag, the aspca, fbi, and whomever.  do what i do, ignore it, hang up, or ignore.  Whatever applies.  have a nice day.

Unknown caller; I believe they left a prerecorded message about lowering my interest rate.  They called my personal, unpublished cell.  When I dialed back their number from a landline for the heck of it, a fake message came on saying "This is not a working number."

Date/time of call was Jan. 6, 2012, 11:47am Pacific time.

The problem is that the number on your CallerID and the callback may not be legit.  A lot of these people use the IP Spoof stuff for computer calls.

The reason you get 'dead' or hangup calls is they have computers dialing maybe a dozen numbers at once .  When someone answers,it goes to a SINGLE A***OLE sitting in their living room and then he tries to con you.  BUT...  If he's already tied to a a line, you answer, and the computer tries to wait for a few seconds, then disconnects.

You can tell if they are using one of these computer router programs when you hear almost ANY delay when you answer before they come on.  Even under the best of cases, they have to read your name from their screen and compose their speech, which takes a second.  When that happens, HOLD THESE PEOPLE ON THE LINE AS LONG AS YOU CAN!!  Tell them yes, you have thousands of dollars of debt and cry and say you don't know what your going to do.  You daughter has chrons disease, you have cancer, and your dog is blind.  You just lost your job.  Whatever.   KEEP THEM ON THE LINE!!!  You need to hurt these a***oles!

By the way, we need a new "Call Type" for scammer!

ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN HARASSED BY THESE CALLS.  I may have found a solution to these annoying calls.  All you will need to do this is one very inexpensive item: an air horn.

I used to get calls from these people 3-5 times per week over the last 3 months.  Every time they call it is a different number but it's always the same recorded message from "Card Services" about qualifying for low interest rates and to press 1 to talk to a representative.

On the 9th of January they called and I requested to be put on their do-not-call list.  They quickly hung up on me before I could finish my sentence.  Sure enough, they ignored my request and called back on the 12th.  This time, I got fed up and pressed 1 to talk to a representative again and when they got on the phone, I immediately blasted them with an air horn.  Since then, I have had no calls at all!  I haven't heard a peep from these clowns since the 12th.

A friend of mine was also getting these calls about as frequently as I was and I told her to do the same thing.  She too has not heard from them since she let them have it with an air horn.

My advice to everyone here is to buy an air horn and use it every time these people call until they stop.  You can buy an air horn at any dollar store for $1.  I have heard of others using whistles as an alternative.  I can't guarantee this will work for everyone but it is totally worth a shot as it seems to have worked for me.  It's also a great way to fight back against these morons.

I would also like to put down on record that I do not condone or recommend using an air horn against legitimate telemarketers.  I only condone using one against scammers like these people who don't adhere to the law and are seemingly getting away with harassment with no consequences for their acitons.

AT&T cell number.  Was a recording and stated that I could reduce my credit card interest rate.  Waited to speak with a person and requested the individual to remove me from its calling list.  He called me names and hung up.

This is a credit card scam to get information.  They call and say you are qualified to get a lower interest rate and then pass you to a human that then starts asking for personal information, credit cards you currrently have.  Just a very unlawful way to steal your identity and many people will think this will benefit them and give their information only to lose a lot of money later.  The guy hung up on me when he asked me my name and I said Miss M. T. Graves.  Please just hang up on these thieves.  Also, I gave them all bogus information as it smelled bad from the start.
