I'm getting calls on my cell phone from this company and I never ever use my cell phone number for anything except family. Not to mention I have no past due debt. Not sure if they called accidentally or if it's a scam.

let me start off by saying if you owe people money you need to pay it back . with that said .
if they keep calling back and are being rude , and you try and tell them that money is tight and your
barely keeping your head above water and they say its not they problem . and they just won't stop calling
( you can block their calls , just call your phone company and tell them that your getting prank calls and they will tell you what to do ) . Ive heard about this plan of action that people are starting to do , I DO NOT RECOMEND DOING THIS IT MIGHT BE AGAINST THE LAW . BUT THEN AGAIN THERE IS NO WAY FOR THEM TO FIND OUT WHO DID IT . this is what I,ve read . go to a deptment , home depol , lowes or your local magizine store . go to the magizine section , pick up a magizine pull out the subscription card that says bill me , fill it out with their address and company name . maybe 20 or 30 would work

Called these people back and they told me they were looking for the person who used to have my number before me. Anyway, I told them that I am not the person they were looking for and to please remove me from their calling list. They transferred me to 4 different people and kept me on hold for over 30 minutes while I waited to talk to someone. Anyway, they're idiots and completely incompetent and rude. I understand they need to get their money but doing it in that way is completely unreasonable.

You are incorrect about the effect of long dead debts. Once a debt is past the statute of lmitations, it has already been written off and dealt with by the originator. These debt collectors are called "zombie" debt collectors for a reason. They do not own the debts they try to collect, which is why they try to resurrect them and how they can offer to settle them for ten cents on the dollar. But their money-grubbing process also resurrects a debt on your credit report, so responding to them, or making any effort to settle, only serves to start the seven year clock ticking again for yet another seven years. So, it is ill advised to make restitution through these zombie collectors. That's the system and that's how it works, so in reality, honest folks are hurt if they even try to make amends. So, no different that major corporations that legally write off bad investments, individuals need to exercise caution and ignore these zombies and go back to the orginators and see if they even are looking for a payment at this time.

I do not know who this caller is.

This number called and rang for, I kid you not, 18 minutes straight before I finally hit "reject call". How is that even possible? Is that legal? I mean, they didn't keep calling BACK for 18 minutes - my phone literally rang for 18 minutes WITHOUT PAUSING.
I don't know what company, 'cause I don't answer numbers I don't recognize and they didn't leave a message.

Are you kidding me??? The notes on this number go back to 2007???
For shame. Shut them down already.

The inconsiderate fools start calling a few minutes after 8 am. I realize that is acceptable by law but when you work nights not even. I would.live to have the home/cell #s and give them a little of the crap they people through. I do owe some debt but consistently calling will NOT get a result except being ignored. They could send a letter a couple times before calling but they don't. I know some people who have debt and when it becomes too large file bankruptcy.
Every company needs to learn to call once as week and leave a voicemail.

They call and ask for someone I've never heard of. Probably a debt collector. The did promise to remove my number from their database, so we'll see.

This rude caller wanted info about someone who used my phone number on his or her financial paperwork. He accused me of being "a complicit" wife by not being cooperative, but he refused to give me any information about the problem that I supposedly was part of. There must be an easier way for a collection agency to find a person if the phone number given is not correct- Facebook, Google, LinkedIn? How do I stop this abuse of my phone number?
| dns 2013-05-02 22:40:54 Unknown |
The right thing? Hardly. $1800 owed on an original $500 due to "fees". And after maintaining minimum payments. Im surprised they arent showing up at peoples houses with slicked back hair and baseball bats.

That's right, ... if you owe it cut a deal with who you owe the debt to and cut these buzzards out of the equation.
Hey, ... does anyone know anybody who aspired to be a debt collector??
Thanks, now you know what you are dealing with.

Just tell the A$$WIPE$ to phuk off!
These bottom feeding morons probably throw high 5's all around the boiler room when they get some sucker to send them any money.
If you owe the money, and are in a position to pay it, get in touch with your creditor and cut a deal. Most times they will take 25% - 33% of the original debt a sfull payment.

I hesitate to answer call when I don't know the number. Judging from what others are saying, this must be a bill collector at 952-831-4800.

more toll free numbers
some of their toll free numbers are:
866-438-2860
877-476-4131
877-258-3415
877-258-3417
877-288-9426
877-475-7982
use a land line and call them for free. even use a pay phone and call them for free
if you are not the person they claim to be calling, call them a dozen times for every time they call you.
do not tell them anything. just demand to talk to the person who called you. do not give your name, as they do not use real names when making calls.
if you get a recording telling you to leave a message, just put your phone by the television speaker, and let it run for as long as it will allow.
(if you really owe the debt, contact the ORIGINAL creditor if you want to be honest and pay your just debt. Do NOT deal with these 3rd party collectors.)

You are so right. It is far better that we have our money STOLEN from us and called a tax so that we can pay for others to live well even though they don't do their fair share.
We should also let Donald Trump and all of his super rich friends file bankruptcy and we will cover that expence too and then look up to those thieves as laudable.
Please go after the poor and knock them down even more.

Received a voice msg from 952-831-4800 yesterday from a Robert Campbell looking for someone w/a similar name to mine, concerning a debt. He called again today and I answered and told him he had the wrong person. He continued to attempt to "verify" personal information. He asked me to give him some identifying information. I said, "No. You give me some identifying info on the person your looking for." He asked for my zip code, I told him, he said, "hmmm, that's close." Close?? He asked if anyone in my family was that name, I said no. He continued to ask the same questions. I repeated several times that he had the wrong person and I didn't know anyone by that name. Finally hung up on him. Don't give out any identifying information.
