I get these calls often, at work especially. I finally did what some of you have done and pressed to speak to somebody.

I told the person I was on the Do Not Call Registry, they need to stop calling me.
Her reply was:

You know technology. Just don't press a number and your phone won't be called no more"
sheesh "no more" really?

Answered call, automated voice "Hello my name is Sarah calling about your credit card status..." I hung up.  English accent.  Name Not Found on the phone.  Not going there.

I have never seen a phone number with "000" in the middle and my job is on the phone all day long, so I let it go to my fax line, where they got an earful! ;)
I am glad someone up above posted what they are doing...most of these calls *are* scams because I have no debt that is past due, nor do I have any credit cards (paid them off and got rid of them-only use my debit), so I never pick up these calls now.
I'm also on the DO NOT CALL list but it doesn't seem to stop them. If you want to block them, hit *60 on your phone and follow the prompts. I did that to Redline Recovery and Portfolio Recovery (which were also calling me illegally, since again, I have no bad debt!!) and their calls did stop finally!

They call me all the time and the second I asked to be removed from their calling list they hang up on me. I can find no information on these people at all. The second I hit 9 to speak with someone, they IMMEDIATELY asked me for my credit card number..I told the man that I am a full time college student who lives at home with my parents and I have no credit card or bills for that matter and he got pissed. I am beyond frustrated...WHAT CAN WE DO??? any ideas??

I am also on the no call list, I have reported this and other numbers many, many times. The whole NO call list is pure crap, the Gov't did it to make us feel better.....and then they don't do S**t about it. I don't have the money to slip into a politicians re-election fund.......so I get no respect.

I've learned to block all incoming calls on my cell phone from those not on my contact list. Works wonders for these types of calls.

HOW can we stop these bogous annoying fraud calls???
I've registered with Do Not Call continually...i guess the Fed / State authorities just don't care.
 There must be some electronic program to choke those calls...any ideas?
 What a horrible way to make a living..it's not the individual fraud caller's fault who needs a job, tho they are nasty.

 (Heaven help me if i'm late paying my phone bill, then i get REAL bad calls.)

said they wanted to lower my card interest rate,i said which card they hung up have received many calls from this number and i am on do not call list also.

I got a call from this number, they're scam artists who have stolen information regarding consumers. I played along w/the call given the call came from a ghost number. person first stated name of their company was card services. then claimed name of their company was interest rate reduction and gave a fake business ID when asked.

their expectation w/ in a couple minutes of the call: give them my credit card numbers, and they even asked for the customer service number on the card and the last 4 of my social number (which I gave false info). the person put me on hold and attempted to access the card. they couldn't because the numbers given were fake. then they asked what my available balances were (as in find out how much they could spend).

what a bunch of serial killers! been getting these scam calls for over a year, it's an organized crime group preying on anyone not paying attention. who in their right mind would volunteer their banking info to a complete stranger. it was scary that caller had my name, but didn't have my address, asked for my zip - TO USE THE CREDIT CARD for online purchases.

but here's the kicker: my calls are monitored because of an organized criminal arrested!!! hopefully their location was traced because I sure kept them on the line for a while.

Calls from this number have been coming for a very long time.  I always have hung up until today when I pressed the key to reach an operator. I told him we are on the Do Not Call Registry and told him to remove us from their call list.  Immediate hang up!!!!!!!!!! The number has now been reported, for whatever good it will do!!!!!!!!!!!

Repeated calls, hangups, etc.

Second or third time I have gotten a call from the number. I pressed 9, to speak to a representative. When they asked if I had more than 3000 dollars of credit card debt, I asked how they got my number..as I'm on the do not call registry. They promptly hung up.

This is a telemarketing call for some sort of debt consolidation.
