Got calls. Any one else getting these calls?

I keep getting a call from this number from a Peter brown or Stephen knox that sound like the same person. Does anyone know who this is? It comes in out of area.

I received a call from this number and they had dialed the wrong number. They didn't offer to sell me anything, but I thought I should post this up.

yea i been getting these kind of calls for a long time now first it was a guy now its sounds like a woman... i dont pay no mind to them anymore im about to change my phone number... they say they are going to arrest me and they are from the DA's office whatever....

I have been contacted by these people several times in the same manner and for the same reasons.  In researching this "supposed loan" scam, I have come to the conclusion that they have hacked into the lender's website.  That is where and how they get such accurate info about you.  What they did not know was that either a loan was not offered or I did not accept the loan.  The real key to the fact that they are are a scam is their reluctance to give the actual name, address and in some cases the real phone they are calling from.  The numbers are often cell numbers in order to prevent being located.  Second, they will not divulge the name of the lender and the exact date of the loan.  Report them everytime they make a call.  The FBI Internet crimes unit, the FTC (because they are perpertrating the crime via the telephone), the Better Business Bureau.  Keep a log of the phone calls and any information that you can obtain (even if you think it is false, just be sure to identify it as doubtful).  Keep reporting the calls on the internet scam sites.  I now "Google" the phone numbers before I even respond.

I received a call from the same number but person's name is Kevin Jones. He is very close to threatening me, you can hear it in his voice and he stated "I wish you luck if you don't contact your lawyer and get back to me". I have no idea who these people are.

Better Business Bureau has issued a national alert about phony debt collectors that are calling consumers nationwide and claiming that they have defaulted on a payday loan and will be arrested if they don?t pay immediately.

Claiming to be lawyers, the scammers say they are with the ?Financial Accountability Association? or the ?Federal Legislation of Unsecured Loans? and often have the victim?s Social Security, old bank account numbers or driver?s license numbers as well as home addresses, employer information and even the names of personal friends and professional references.

Phone numbers that the scammers are calling from include: 949-468-5107, 415-200-0274, 213-784-5745, 408-715-1614 and many others.

this is supposedly a "brad jones" from some law office about a payday loan that i never received.  they have contacted me time and time again in regards to this matter and the time before this, the social security number they had and bank account routing number and account number although supposedly my bank were incorrect.  this time, the social was somehow suddenly the right number, and when i contacted my bank, low and behold, no record of the the payday loan! they call 5 times within a minute period, up to ten times a day and leave threating messages to have me arrested and "wait and see what happens".  this is against the law.  so, yeah, i called him an a***ole and said i was ready to file a lawsuit against him for all of this harrassment over the last year for a loan i never even received! i would watch out for "brad jones, mark smith" and any of the other clearly fake alias's they use.  its all a bunch of b.s.
