I keep getting phone calls from this number to my cellphone a few times a day. If I answer it, it is silent and after a few seconds it hangs up. When I call back, the phone will not ring and the phone call will not go through.

i worked for personal periodicals/mailbox magazine for 2 days.  They fired me in a horrible way my second day called me an hour after i left work that day and left a voicemail telling me it wasnt working out. The sad thing is, as bad as i felt about calling these poor customers and harrassing them and trying to scam them on the phone, it was actually a very laid back job full of young vibrant girls and being a 22 year old girl myself the environment was very nice. the hours and the pay were both good. But since they did me so dirty, i'm gonna air out their secrets. Just to validate to everyone that PUBLISHERS SWEEPSTAKES/MAILBOX MAGAZINES is actually a scam... they give every customer a sweepstakes validation number.and tell the person its vital for them to hold on to it because when they start calling winners, they are gonna need that number to validate that its actually the person their talking to.. well every number we give is the same... 140-99. :) F*** YOU PERSONAL PERIODICALS, KURT UR AN A**HOLE, AND NANCY U CAN F*** YOURSELF FOR LEAVING ME A VOICEMAIL TO FIRE ME, PUSSY B***H!

This number calls me about 3 times a day and has constantly for the past 3 weeks.

40 year old bloggers have nothing to do with this!! I have done the things you said and they responded by insulting me and my wife! So don't try act like you are a good person because if you are anything like the people calling me, then you are nothing more than a low life who annoys other people

Hey, shithead.  The 'do not call' magic words don't always work either, because most of these operations are completely fly-by-night to begin with.  Do you think the guy making 8 bucks an hour gives a s**t if you tell them to take you off the list, just because it's the law?  For most, it's "F*** you, back in the queue."

I have been getting calls from this number for the past 3 days.  I answer the phone and no one is there.......looked the number up online and it has something to do with magazines or some crap.  I just called the number back; gave them my number and told them not to call me anymore.

6am calls, when I answer there is noone there. Another number that calls very early in the morning is 213-291-7489 claiming to be publishers sweepsteaks.

I've gotten several calls from this number, I answer and nobody says nothing. I want to know why??????

I have verizon wireless and they offer a web based spam control service where you can block incoming phone numbers.  It blocks the number for three months and after I get a few annoying calls I simply add the number to the list and the problem is solved!

These idiots call at least 3 to 4 times a day.  It seems like whenever they call I am not around my cell phone.  The idiots only ever left one message.  I guess thinking it was a house phone the moron said " Joe, Joe, pick up the phone" like it was someone important then I realized it was just these jerkoffs.  Everytime you call back it's a recording that tells you to leave your number so they can put it on the don't call list and the stupid thing is always full.  The number I got online 1-800-924-1399 is the number you want to call.  This way you can talk directly to someone.  I told them repeatedly to take me off the list so we will see what happens.  Who know's though, I answered when they called about 3 months ago and told the morons but obviously it did no good because I was still being harrassed.

I get this call about every hour on my cell phone, I am now not picking it up but I was and I would get hung up on. It drives me nuts, who is it, I would love to find out!

These people have been trying to get my credit card / check info. in order to make your life miserable.  Report them as soon as you hear from them.  Why the police cannot do any thing about this?  I am pretty sure that many people complained about them.  Same story, 2 different women!  When I asked them about their phone number, address so that I can send them a money order (just to identify who they really are) they refused with many BS excuses! If every one gets phone calls from these jerks report them, it should send an alert to public!

I got a call from this # around a few months ago on my cell phone. I answered the call & a woman said hello...(I heard a man in the background say, tell her she's won the sweepstakes) & she said you've won the sweepstakes for (a certain amount of money, can't remember exactly how much). I replied, I haven't entered a sweepstakes & she said, well, someone else must have entered for you. I said, this is a cell phone #, don't call here again & I hung up. I haven't gotten anymore calls on my cell phone from that # since then. I felt the call was a scam of some kind, especially since there was a 2nd person in background telling the caller what to say

I don't receive these types of calls often (1-3 every 6 weeks or so), but I always make it a point to report them immediately.

The moment I answered, this individual(s) hung up.

The most amusing thing to me is that the few times I actually HAVE had a live person on the other end of one of these calls, they are never looking for me, but someone else who is not me (I have had the same phone number for at least 6 years now).

i get these 4 or 5 times a day, never anyone there.  when you call the number it says something about some promotional thing,  how do you promote something if you never say anything, i'm a truck driver and often i don't want to look at the number (for safety reasons).  i just figure i'ts my wife or the company i work for,  it's annoying as hell,  does FCC have any pull in this sort of thing???

this number has called me twice, once a day for the past 2 days and I haven't answered it and they never leave a voicemail...I typed it into google and found out all you people are having the same problem! It's annoying.

#1 Stop giving your number out! go to Privatephone.com and give that number out... companies will give away your personal information

#2 nicely tell them to put you on their "do not call" list. Telling them you're not interested isn't a permenant way to get off their call list.

#3 hanging up just puts you on redial..

Take it from a telemarketer.. I'm sick of these 40 year old bloggers pissing online about how a number keeps calling them!

They call at least 3 times per day and all I get is silence on the other end. They started calling the same day our phone was hooked up!!!!! When I called back a recording told me to be removed from the call list I needed to leave my phone number. Hopefully it works!!!

THESE JERKS, AKA "PERSONAL PERIOD" HAVE CALLED OUR HOUSE EVERY DAY FOR THE LAST 3 WEEKS, IT IS SO VERY ANNOYING - NO ONE IS EVER ON THE LINE. I SURE WISH I KNEW A WAY TO STOP THEM FROM CALLING - IT IS AT ALL DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY.

They call my house consistently, at least 3-7 times a day.  The other day I received 4 phone calls from this number within one hour, and it was during my dinner time.  It's harrassing.  On the occasions that I have picked up the phone in order to request that they stop the harrassing phone calls, no one answers.  Once someone picked up but only said hello.
