I am in Toronto. I also received a cal from "Mathew" wanting us to advertise in his magazine called Luxury Living...can't find a magazine by that name...sounded fishy...and apparently is. Never buy something from someone on the phone or who comes to your door!

I run a Landscape business in Kitchener/Waterloo Ontario, Canada and recieved a call from Matthew about some projects at local golf courses here.  Was surprised to see a Florida number pop up. Thankfully a friend of mine works for one of these golf courses and quickly shot down the idea that they would be dealing with someone out of Florida.  TAKE ME OFF YOUR LIST MATTHEW and do not waste my time again!

i too received a call from mr. matthew, i currently own a design firm in vancouver and as i've already allocated my budget elsewhere i did not purchase. Not that i didn't think it was a good campaign their running, I just dont want to go over budget. Even though i didn't buy i think its unfair for the people on here who just got a message or didnt answer the phone to qualify this as fishy. So everytime you get a call from a number you dont know and hear noise in the background, its automatically "another telemarketing scam"???? if that were true id never answer my phone because, i dont know about you, but, I dont have all of my clients phone #s memorized. The only reason im saying this is because before i became a designer i too used to be a sales rep for a high end magazine, and i know how frustrating it can be to have people post un justified reviews. Thats all.

Received a call from 954-834-2109.  Mathew looking for an architect in the Austin area - he left a message.  I called back and he was looking to feature an ad for an architect in a new upcoming magazine.  He quoted prices and then asked me to agree to use images from my website. Said he found me on Houzz website. As I was hesitant, he got his manager on the phone (Bill) who then quoted me a discounted price for the 1/4, 1/2 or full page adds.  When I said I would have to think it over, he said Mathew would send it in writing and then he hung up.  It all sounded a bit fishy - and now I know why.

I am a Realtor in Vancouver, Canada for Sotheby's International Realty. Received a VM stating that he (Matthew) was looking for a Sotheby's agent in Vancouver. I think these post explain the validity of "Matthew."

Cal from "Matthew" looking for "a good architect in Albuquerque" on 12/29/12.  Number 954-834-2109.  Called back and outgoing message said "Matt Bauer" (or "Bower"?)) was away from his desk.  No details on name of company, etc.  B the way, when I listened to his message again, I too could hear call-center type noise in background.  Reverse look-up says this number is from Deerfield Beach, FL.

Got a call from this guy this a.m. looking for a decorative concrete contractor in the ABQ area. That's what I do, but I've gotten savvy to this sort of thing, with the background call center noise. Can't state his business, or who he's with. Scam,scam,scam.

I agree with all of you ... he just called me in Hawaii ... if a person can't state his business, I don't have time to respond.

Yeah, this Mathew leaves messages from 954 area code, and I will not call him back. Take me off your list Mathew!!!

I got a call this afternoon from "Matthew" also asking for information on a Realtor in my home area from the same company I work for...scam? Telemarketer? Fisching? CERTAINLY fishy!!

Same thing-got a voicemail from this number looking for a realtor in Toronto.

Got a voicemail from this number looking for a realtor for the Edmonton area.

Got a similar call asking for "someone who does group life and health in the vancouver area".  Florida also.

I live and work in Vancouver Canada. Caller from Florida USA - Matthew was "looking for a good financial planner in the Vancouver area". No company name given, seemed like call center noise in the background. Smells like another telemarketing scam.
