They also call under number 214-506-6106.  They are in voilation of the government do not call list.  Maybe we need to report them to the FCC.

Not sure why I receive thse calls at work and they never leave a message.

We have been getting calls from this number for our son for over a month.  I called them on 8/22 to say I wanted our number removed.  This woman said our number would be blocked.  For two days, we didn't hear back, but now we are getting TWO calls a day.  I just called back and asked to speak to a supervisor since last weeks call didn't do any good.  This supervisor was VERY rude and accused me of lying about still getting calls.  I told him I have Caller ID and have all the times and dates of all these calls.   We have received 18 calls from them since 7/29.  They only call on weekdays.  How can these be stopped?  

I did explain these calls were for our son who lives in another state.  He hasn't lived here for 8 years and I wanted our number removed.  I find these people EXTREMELY RUDE!

You are freakin brilliant! I just added Google Voice, but I did not realize the full potential until I read your post. I feel empowered now that I am able to take back control over my cell and home phones!!

I just got a call from this number the caller id says West Asset Mgmt.The funny thing is they were looking for my old tenant who hasn't lived in the house in 2 years. She lived in her own apartment and had her own phone number. Wonderful somewhere down the line they mixed up my phone number and her name and now I have all these mailing lists calling me looking for her.

just called it back. they were pretty nice nice on the phone. told them the number kept calling me, they told me who they were looking for, i said I am not that person, they apologized, asked for the last 4 digits in my phone number and said i would be taken off the list immediately.

I got calls from a company similar to this about a year ago. When I was told they were attorneys and they were going to take me to court over setteling an old account, I tried to talk to them. After several harassing phone calls and being told I would be arrested and taken to court, I told them to F**king sue me, when I got a certified letter and a real name from the company (considering the guy on the phone would not give me his name) then we would talk. Until then if they called me back again I would contact an attorney and sue them, the calls stoped, now this number is calling and its the same thing. People will try anything as a scheme, its rediculous.

Their machine called me, looking for a Dorothy something or another. Waiting until a live person got on the phone asking for Dorothy. I asked what number they were dialing, guy acted dumbfounded that I would ask him a question, asked it again, he told me, I told him my name, I told him that I had the number he read back to me for the past 8 years. He then asked me if I knew Dorothy, I responded, I think that is pretty obvious that I dont correct? He then asked me what my name was again, I said you really dont pay attention do you? I just told you my name, he then said well why would it be obvious that you dont know Dorothy #%&@@((, not my last name. I said remove me from your machine, and I dont ever expect to hear from you or your company again. He laughed and hung up.

Computer call wanting someone w/ same last name.  Trolling? Phishing? Asked to press key for options 1-if one is requested person, or 2-if have to go fetch person, or 3-if not available... but no key stated for "wrong number".  Caller id reads cellphone from TX.

Sounded like farts on the other end...obviously a prank caller.

I called the number back, because they where calling a few times a day.  A person answers and I told them that the person they are looking for does not live here and please take me off the list.  By law they have to if you ask them too.

Dan - thank you for the google voice option - i have forwarded all annoying numbers to google voice.  What a great way to block these annoying calls!

WEST ASSET MGMT, they are debt collectors, you have the right to ask them not call again, if they come back, let them know you will made a report to the Federal Trade Commission Comsumer Protection...this is the end. They do not call you again.

Getting call asking for someone who happens to be deseased

I found a solution for these num nut phone calls.
1). Set up a crap gmail account called anything.
2). Set up google voice to this account, where you chose a brand new phone number offered by google.
3). Do selective call fowarding from your home phone to this new google account.
  - My cox digital allows me to selectivly foward 31 phone numbers.
4). This step not needed, but it adds a pleasant twist to everything.
   4a) Set up a contact in your google account you just set up called phone spam, or scum bags. Which ever makes you feel better.
   4b). Click the box next to this new contact.
   4c). Click on 'edit google voice settings'
   4d). Under 'When this contact calls you', click block.  They will receive a message that this number is no longer in service.


Please note that you are setting up a new/crap google/gmail account so that you can delete it any time you want without any worries of lost contacts. your only using it to rid yourselves of these anoying calls.

Also, you can use this with your cell phone. The cell phone I have not done yet.

With my cell phone, I add the numbers of the bill collectors/spam calls to a contact. Then I select a specific ring tone of 0 volume for when they call. Let them call all they want.  

As a followup, you can channel your cell numbers through google voice. I just haven't done it yet, so I can't provide any help on that.

I have just resently started getting calls from this number.  I get 3 or more a day but I don't anwser any number I don't know so I don't know what they are selling or if they are trying to collect some thing or what. And they never leave a message.  One would think if they had to call that many times and it was important they would leave a message

It is annoying, I have been getting calls from them for weeks and its so irritating. I live in the DC area so its weird getting calls from all the way from TX!

I get calls from this number several times a day, and wish they would just get a life and stop!!  Someone always trying to either sell you something or to get your personal information.  just plain and pure harrassment!

My mom continuosly gets calls from this place and when I ask them (because my mom doesn't speak English) where they are from, I cannot understand what she says and when I ask her what the call is about she says is personal and that she cannot provide any information.

I too get in upwards of 2 calls a day yet no message is left. I STRONGLY believe that it is a group of so called "attorneys" that are ALLGEDLY working for a credit compant and are caling on collections.

Almost 4 years ago, I was in a fatal car accident and ended up in a coma. I was hospitalized for MONTHS. I was in college and had charged some books on a credita card however, recovering from the coma, I didnt even know how to tie my sholaces let alone pay a credit bill.....
2 years ago, I was contacted by some "attorney's office (just before Christmas) regarding this bill. I was HARRASSED and pursuaded to pay the bill in full. I could not pay in full so, I made "arrangements" with them and, gave them authorization to deduct payments from my checking account (I know, I know, BAD MOVE  but, as I said, I was recovering from a coma and, not mentally acute).

These guys even called on Christmas eve!!

After making payment 'arrangements", they DRAINED MY ACCOUNT and, there was NOTHING I could do. They made a "paper check" (equivialant to a money order) with no name or depositing account numbers... thus untraceable!
I closed the account and never heard from these 'attorneys' again... until last year.... just before Christmas.... yet 'another...attorneys' office called saying I am being ordered to court.
Well, a REAL ATTORNEY would have sent a CERTIFIED letter! .... I have not returned their cals.... NO LETTER from the county courthouse though!
I strongly beleive this is the same circuit of 'attorneys' running a scam~
Look out for yourself... research the web for legal processes in your state!!!!!!!!!!!

Get calls all the time.  When I answer (sometimes I forget) there is only silence on the line.  Wish they would stop.
