Received a call from 972-443-1960. No one was on the line.
My experience with Fidelity in the past ; when they need to contact you especially regarding a 401 K a letter will be sent through the U.S.P.S.
I would doubt a telephone message is legit. It certainly does not follow Federal Compliance Rules & Regulations.

Same as others - no response when I answered - went straight to voicemail . from Fidelity left a message
800- 544-5315 with an extension - bogus - block the calls

I wish people would stop saying it's legit...it IS NOT legit when they are calling me and asking for my S.S.# and birthdate (I do not have nor have I ever had a Fidelity account). More than likely the number is a Fidelity # that scammers are spoofing ...did you ever consider that?
Nanette 2014-03-25 20:54:57 Unknown
Yup name given to me was Rory Blair and asking for my SSN and Account numbe, well if he is with Fidelity why is he asking me. Told him please sop calling and if you are trying to make a scam call you will never get my SSN. He gave me a number to call 800-557-1900 ext 2439 and no one is at that extension. HMMM

This is the phone number for the Fidelity Investments call center in Westlake, TX. If you call the number back it just gets you to the general 1-800-Fidelity group of representatives. Nothing to be alarmed about! Mostly they call to help with guidance!
Tom 2013-08-16 23:55:10 Unknown
I called Fidelity back with their general customer service number. After looking into the issue, the representative verified that yes, it was indeed from Fidelity, and someone from their department called me this morning.

Got a voice message from someone who said he's from Fidelity. The call was regarding to my account with Fidelity. Asked me to call back 1800-544-3710.
Looked suspicious because I got a spam call from 216-545-8326 the day before. These people are up to no good. Do not answer. If it is legit representative from Fidelity, they should have the info ready for their clients.
Brian 2013-08-14 16:35:07 Unknown
I called the 800 number on the Fidelity site and they said this is a valid number, and someone did actually call me from Fidelity.

Got a call from this number on my cell phone. left a voicemail stating his name and that he worked at Fidelity Investments. He knew my name and the company i worked at... left an 800 # with an ext to call back. I WILL NOT CALL IT BACK.. I will however contact my rep directly and get to the bottom of this.

Got a call from 972 443 1960. It was a SCAM. told me he was from Fidelity Investments..but Needs my account number and security number to confirm. Plus Birthdate.. ! WHAT CRAP! If they were then they should tell me that THEY KNOW the numbers! DO NOT entertain any call. This is NOT LEGIT! BE WARE:.. Called my own Fidelity Investment Funds 800 number...Their number is DIFFERENT..and there was no reason for my 401 K to be VERIFIED!

Seems like it was laura hanna with fidelity investments risk management. they wanted to confirm if I had linked external bank account for rollover, 401K withdrawal, etc

Just opened and finalized a Fidelity account. All transactions visible and accurate on my account website. This # called and said "we" forgot to indicate the full amount that I was rolling in to the account, needed my date of birth and social to finalize it. I asked why it all appears correct on the account site then & they said it assumes so, but need the DOB/Soc to finalize it. No way...told them to have my local representative that I opened the account with call me in to the office to discuss this (I do not live in Dallas, the origin of this number...heck I don't even live in TX!)
Phil 2013-01-18 16:15:11 Unknown
This is a legitimate Fidelity number. The voice mail came from a representative I have spoken with before who helped me roll over some 401K funds into a new account.
Dabuck 2012-10-25 16:08:40 Unknown
Missed call on cell. No voicemail message was left. No messages from Fidelity.
frogdog 2012-10-09 21:32:31 Unknown
I received a call but they did not leave a message; seems a little suspicious from these other postings

"do not answer" - Your accusation is based soley on assumptions and you are, in fact, wrong. This is a legitimate call from Fidelity. They cannot deal with most issues via email because of financial confidentiality.
I didn't answer the earlier call I received from 972-443-1960 and when I returned home had an email from Fidelity that there was a message on my IRA account that I could login to read. Upon logging into Fidelity there was a message that they had tried to call me earlier in the day concerning a question I had raised yesterday concerning my account and they provided an 800 number to call to discuss it.
Your advice is sound but you should not make such blatent accusations without the facts . . . it makes us wonder what scam you're trying to pull.

It's legit and if you can't call this particular number back, if you have a answering service, they will leave info on how to contact them. You may not know that some employer you worked now or in the past uses Fidelity to manage their pension or 401k.
Chris 2012-03-28 17:33:59 Unknown
The call sounds very phishy. If they are really from Fidelity, they should have your A/C info before they call you. Why do they call you and ask for your A/C?
Bob K 2012-03-07 15:24:00 Unknown
I also received a call from this number - Fidelity Investments located in the Dallas, TX area. They were calling to set up a time to discuss options that were available for me to manage my 401(k) investments now that i am nearing retirement age.
It was a legitimate call, I do have a 401(k) with Fidelity.

I just got a call from this number. A woman named Nicki Ferez left a message. Said she was calling from the 401k department about an account I had through "Travel Port, the company I used to work for", but I never worked for Travel Port. She left a call back number of 1-800-557-1900 ex2658. I checked on Fidelities web site and this number is not on their contact list. I think I will e-mail them to find out about this person.

This number was from Fidelity. My account representative left a voice mail. It is a legit number for Fidelity. Don't know why it was this area code. She left an 800 number for me to return the call
Andy 2011-12-07 00:50:21 Unknown
I just got a similar call from this number on my cell phone from a lady "Rosemary Batch" who identified herself as being from Fidelity 401k division.. calling to welcome me to Fidelity. The call-back number she provided was the following: 800-354-9726 x2208. Is this legit?
Jeff 2011-11-02 17:37:07 Unknown
I got a call from this number too. He is asking my account ID which I refused.
