my husband received a call from the 9724604265#.  when i called it back, the recording told me that the person selling the 2005 toyota on auto traders had a block on his phone for incoming calls.  the original message was the same as with previous complaints, threatening, wishing him good luck, blah, blah, blah.  unfortunately we have in the past had to take out some payday loans on the internet.  worst mistake we ever made...NEVER AGAIN!!!!  it's just not worth all of the aggravation and stress that calls like this cause...please make sure, if you do receive calls, emails, etc. from people like this, file complaints with the ftc, the bbb, and the fbi.  someday....they will be caught.  I myself have even received emails regarding the same type of complaint.  I will make sure to forward anything like this on to the proper authorities and hopefully their investigations will, someday, put a stop to it.

I received a message basically saying the same as all above.  Wishing me luck and blah, blah, blah....
First he called me from another phone number 334-539-3240.  How stupid does he think people are?  he is a fruad and a scammer and do not under any circumstances send this person money.

He is some foreigner that has all types of different numbers and you can hear people in the background.  What law office has that.  Like a call center.  My husband is a policeman, and told me the same.  Do not waste your time on this piece of garbage, Trying to intimidate people.

good luck to him, because he soon will be found........

I have been receiving calls from 972-460-4265. During the Christmas holidays, I received a call from a gentleman with a heavy accent, saying that this matter was time sensitive and if I did not return the call, he wish me good luck. He sounded as though he was threatnen me.

I have also received calls from this lady with a heavy accent. She has called me at least 3 times already. She like the gentleman is leaving messages in a threatning matter. I won't return her call. Yes, I do have  padday loans through the internet, but has never encountered anything like this before.

Also, be on the alert from a number of 302-956-9500(ACS Legal Group). I think that is a scam as well. They have threatnen to have me arrested about a payday loan. I called this number  back, and the gentleman was rude and then hung  up the phone on me. When I called back after he hung up on me, he never picked up the phone again.

These people are ridiculous! I received many calls at my place of employment around the 5th of feb. saying i had until 2pm to pay $1500 or i would have a warrant out for my arrest and they would be serving me wiht all papers at my job! I was terrified I told him to let me see what I can do... and I'd give him a call back. I did try everything in my power because I am pregnant and have 3 small children I couldn't imagine going to jail over a $300 payday loan!!! I called him and said I needed more time I couldn't get it all by then, he proceeded to tell me he could only hold the case for one more hour I begged him to give me a week, he kept telling me he couldn't that they were going to press charges at their hearing that day. I was sick to my stomach all day and the next day then he started calling me 10 times a day for a few days I kept telling him I couldn't get the money to do what he had to do, well after all that and some investigating online I figured out he was a scammer or whatever they are and he still calls me to this day I had my coworker tell him I was in a car crash trying to get money for somthing and I would be out for a month or so and he was completely distrought and didn't know what to say I guess he had a lil guilt in him haha... whatever he still calls to this day and says the same BS so im not so worried but I do know I have to pay this loan sooner or later but just to the company not them!! I don't realy know what they are trying to accomplish... but its annoying. OH and when he called the second day I had my husband answer and ask him a few questions he gave him a completely different name than what he gave me! how FISHY!!!

Have been receiving call after call from this number.  They called my place of employment today and harrassed me.  It is totaqlly illegal for debt collectors to call your employer.  The guy has a very heavy accent and is very rude.  I have spoke the the State of CT Attorney Generals officeand they have investigated and said this is a scam and are procedding with an investigation.  Do notlet these idiots upset you.  They need to get a real and legal job like the people likeyou and me.  Let us hope that through investigations these jerks will be caught and hopefully prosecuted.

Please don't give these people any money! This is a common scam. I am a writer and have done several stories on these types of scams after I began receiving calls. They all use the exact same script every time. Even if you took out a payday loan and refused to pay it back, they cannot have you arrested. If they want to take any type of legal action against you they have to file it in the county in which you live and you can check that online yourself.

I know it is scary to be threatened with being arrested but if it makes you feel any better, I have been called off and on for the last two years by the same company every few months. If it was such an urgent matter and they could do anything to me, they would have by now. Their ridiculous English skills is a dead give-a-way to who they are.  They also always try to sound American by using common names like John Anderson, Michael Smith or Mark Watson. Most likely, they are sitting in some cramped boiler room in India.

While most of us are smart enough not to fall for these types of scams, people like my father in-law would be prime targets for these scum bags. He was raised to always pay your bills and if someone said you owed them money, well you did. The internet makes people like him vulnerable.

Tommy,  that caller appears to be just another scammer.  After reading all of these posts,  I certainly wouldn't talk to them or even worry about it.   Just trying to get their hands in your pockets.

On the lighter side,   I too have a last name that is not real common place.   I have taken lots of kidding from the time I was a child and even today.    I usually post a handle as "Casa"......my last name is actually Casanova.  High School was brutal.....I'm still seeing a therapist.  lol lol

TOTAL SCAM!!! Law enforcement officers cannot and do not collect on debt.  My husband received a threatening phone call at work an hour ago (2:45 PM CST) regarding an 'unpaid payday loan'.  When he asked for verification information, the caller stated that she would not be able to provide such information, but that there were 3 charges against him including theft and misrepresentation, and that my husband would face arrest and 10 days in jail if the 'debt' was not paid by 5 PM today.  Naturally our response was 1) "WTF????"; 2) "Pay it off and then seek legal counsel".  My husband was told that he could not use a credit or debit card, but that he could go to Walmart to buy a cash card instead.   What these idiot callers don't know is that my husband is a licensed attorney.  He promptly called the Trade & Consumer Protection Agency who informed him that this was a scam.  We can go to the FBI website and log a complaint (ic3.gov).  Scary stuff, especially when threatened with legal action.  I really hope that whoever is behind this will be caught and unmercilessly prosecuted to the full extent of OUR law.

I just recieved a call at my work of all places from (972) 460-4265 sayinf that I owed $8k on a payday loan.  First of all AZ does not allow payday loans and they were threatning legal action against me and told me I am going to Jail if I don't pay this.  I reported this to the local police dept. Sad that they seem to prey on older people I ahve noticed as well.  Phone they called from had a lot of static and they spoke broken english and were very hard to understand.

The number 972-460-4265 is a fraudulent collection agency that is calling people who may have had a past payday loan.  They call you and threaten you with arrest.  There are several different numbers that these people are calling from.  There is a story out there done by ABC News http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/phantom-debt-co ... ory?id=16512428

review the link and inform all you know to contact Law Enforcement to verify their claims before sending any money.  Green Dot Money Pak is the common request for how to send money do not send money without verifying first.

I have been called at my job, left multiple messages on my phone, even after I informed them that I knew they were scamming & being called a B%#@^, they have since left more messages.  Mr. and Mrs. Brown, who can't speak a Clear Word of English, but they are Lawyers who Sue People over the Phone. I do not know who these people are, but I will inform you that if you have put ANY of your Personal Info on the Internet, these people are the crooks that steal our information, to do what with I'm not sure. Whoever these Crooks are though they were able to read Me the last 4 digits of My SSN. I feel like that is too much for them to know. I plan to have this # reported  with the messages to my Attorney General & I have already reported this # to FTC.

My husband was harassed for a week. They told my husband that he had an loan out for 756.12 from American cash loan and they gave us the their telephone and as I spoke with them, they had no information bout the loan, just his personal info. I called the law firm back and explained that I we weren't able to get any info from the so called loan place and the guy whom was supposed to be an lawyer who had an Heavy accents was very Rude and screaming at us that we could get a copy of the paperwork tomorrow when he would be arrested at his pace of employment. I begin to ask him question that he should have been able to provide but instead he continue to hang up on us; so I ask the guy to let me speak  his supervisor and he stated that that they wouldn't speak to us and we would have to get an attorney and if "I called back then we would be arrested in front of our children instead of at work. So, I did an internet search of the telephone and came across pages of people complaining of scam. So I called Mr. Dave back and explained to him to go ahead in print the papers off and we would wait and if he hang us again I was going to contact BBB. That's when he begun to stutter and I explained that I have done an search and this is scam. I inform him that if my husband credit/employment was put into jeopardy, that I would turn this over to my father whom is Lawyer and we would hunt them down like the dirty dog that are and sew their a** for harassment, fraud, and impersonation an lawyer.

I just got a call at work stating that a law firm has been trying to get a hold of me. I returned the call and was threatening that if I do not make payment on a payday loan within one hour. I would have warrant issued and the police would arrest me at work in the morning. The man on the phone was hard to understand and was very forceful. The man wanted me to go Wal-Mart, get a Green Dot Money Pak and give him the number on the back. I have only received one payday loan and I am current on the loan. I told him that I would retain an attorney and he will handle this matter. The man stated ?what time will he call me? And he better call me or you are looking at some serious legal matter.? To my best memory I have not done anything wrong and believe this is just a scam.

This is the same caller, different number (my phone readout says it is an international call, which I NEVER pick up).  Same script - gives my name (incorrectly) says not to ignore the call, for me or my attorney representative to contact him (gave name as Alfred Anderson  - different name this time), and says that if I don't return the call, he has no control over the situation as it unfolds over me.  The first time I got this call a few weeks ago, the caller ended the call by saying "May God have mercy on your soul."  But this is word for word the same scripted call  - but this voice almost sounds like a computer-generated voice, very stilted with an accent.  Seen other postings here under another phone number (so they use multiple lines), it is a scam.

Took a call today from Jackson Brown also with a heavy accent saying that he was Davenport Lawfirm in Dallas.  That I owed American Cash 523.25, I don't owe any payday loans, but he refuse to listen.  All he kept saying is that I need to take care of this or I would be arrested.  That he had my paperwork in his hands and was going to put down that I refuse to pay.  That I will be arrested and put in jail.  I looked up the Davenport Lawfirm and they deal with Bankruptcy.  I don't know what they are trying to prove but I just wish they stop calling me making treats.
