I agree wholeheartedly with you, Todd.   Charitable Trusts, which is what the Texas State Troopers Association is, helps literally thousands of people across the United States.   With that being said, here's a fact for everyone.  Did you know the gender that contributes the most money to charitable organizations across the State of Texas are Males.   Perhaps that is why fundraisers call asking to speak to the man of the house?   Just a thought.  But, for those of you who truly want Mr. Morici's business address, it is 4343 Royal Lane, Ste. 120, Irving TX.   Can't give his personal residence.  Recommend writing him to protest calling but ultimately you will have to change the law and require the FTC to enforce the law.  Good luck with that.

Charitable Trusts are exempt from the Federal Do Not Call List.  You need to contact your congressman to have the law changed and then contact the Federal Trade Commission to have the law enforced.

I have been receiving calls from this number all day long.  On the hour every hour of the day.  I finally answered a call and they asked for my husband by first name and mispronounced it.  These calls are becoming unbareable since they are calling the house every hour.

New phone number for them is 972-495-8727.  I very politely told the guy that since gas was costing us about $300 extra a month, that we couldn't help.  He told me that everything is costing more.  What that means, I don't know.  He ended the call by saying "well, that's just great", and then he hung up on me.  I'm trying to report this.  Of course I didn't get his name.  I will not ever donate to this organization again.

I've been getting calls from American Eagle Builder Supply.  Came home today to find this one.  Research indicates that this Garland number is actually a land line provided to an Plano address in the 75094 zip code.  No message was left.

Got a call from 972-496-0527 and the caller ID says Statewide Appeal...they must be back at it again.  Guess it was a good thing no one heard the phone ring at 5:31 this evening!

They are scammers.

972-496-1806 no longer is operable.  As stated in other posts, 972-496-2217 rings interminably.  

I recently received calls at my home from Zachary VanMeter's cell phone (469-688-8747).  When asked who is calling, the call is disconnected.  Return calls to VanMeter's cell phone go unanswered and his voicemail box is full, no doubt from curious return callers.

These calls are rude and annoying, but, ultimately seem harmless.

They call at least once a week & never leave a message on the answering machine.  If I answer personally, they always hang up!

We have been getting calls from them also.  Basically, a call every hour to hour and a half.  I answered the phone and they asked for my husband by first name.  When I told them he wasn't here and could I take a message, they said they would call back and hung up on me (very, very rude!)  The sad thing is, I have donated to TSTA (Texas State Troopers Assn) is the past, but will NEVER do it again after this.  As firefighters, we try to donate to fire depts and police depts, however, this is uncalled for.  I hope someone from there reads these posts, because they are digging themselves a hole to be buried in.

Try asking them what percentage of the money received will actually make it over to the charity.  The percentage with them is only 18 - 22% (Or was the last time I answered the phone without checking caller ID first:)

They are at it again, the police fundraising.  I said no to the person that called on 7/31/07 (caller ID shows STATEWIDE 972-496-1806) and then it now comes up under PUBLIC SAFETY SERVICE 713-655-1771, same thing, policeman fund.  Told the person NO, and they proceeded to ask if they could call next year, told them no.  NO means no phone, no email, no smoke signals, no one coming to our door, no skywriters, no mime, no singing telegram, etc.  I also sent an email to the second one and they responded with that it would be removed!

The answers to your problems are simple answer the phone and let them talk to the person they are asking for and the calls will stop.

Statewide is a telemarketer company raising money for the Texas State Troopers Association (TSTA).  I called TSTA and verified that they are, in fact, doing their fundraising for them.  Nathan Adams of the Garland office of Statewide is the one calling our home asking for my husband by first name only.  Today, for the fourth call, I told Nathan I had discussed this with my husband and we cannot contribute at this time and to remove our number from their list.  He was extremely rude and said, "This is the first time I've called and you magically already discussed it with him?  No, I cannot remove your number from our list until I speak with him." Click.  Gave me no time for response.  TSTA gave me the name of Diana (Statewide) at 1-800-237-3053 ext 107 and she will remove your number from their database.  She was very nice and helpful to me.  You can also call the Garland office at 1-972-496-2217 and speak with office manager, Zack, to report how rude Nathan Adams is.  I tried to call the Garland office and the phone just rang and rang.  You can bet I will continue to call until someone answers!!!

Statewide is calling to ask for donations for a fund for the Texas State Troopers Association  Don't know yet if it is a "real" fund-raiser or another scam.
