Got a call with callerid "STATE TROOPERS".  Of course, they wanted money but they weren't abusive.

Caller rang and then hung up after I answered it.

Caller-ID said S.A.I, but they left no message.

Caller ID shows S.A.I. There was no response when I said "hello".

Caller ID says "SAI."  They called without leaving a message, then called again three hours later and did not say anything when I answered.

And why do they call at awkward times and just not say anything at all?

Actually, everthing this office does is completely legal. The attorney general approve it and the company has been around for twenty years. There is nothing against the law about any of it and all of you are stupid for saying it isn't legal. Really? How would they have an office space and approval if it was all a scam?

Called just now on my fax line, just moments after I'd received two calls from a different "Toll Free Call".  On this one the Caller ID was "Public Awareness".

My fax line is listed, but it's also listed on the do not call thing so it's rare I get any unwanted calls on it.  This is odd.

Called at 8pm at night.  I didn't answer and they did not leave a message.

This person or people are stupid they call you and don't leave messages at all. We called the number back in vain no one ever answered. The voice message i accidently got on my voice mail was "is this Chinese because i had a different verbage on beside English".

I sure hope they get caught because they are using the law to get people which is not good at all.

Sorry, but if YOU'd do a bit of research you'd find that this organization is under investigation by the Texas Attorney General's office.  They are a telemarketing scam company and have scammed millions of dollars making people believe they are given to the troopers association.  In fact, next to nothing goes to troopers.  They apparently give troopers a small percentage to appear to be a charity, when they in fact keep the vast majority of the money collected.  These scumbags appeal to your charity, your pride in police officers, your sympathies, anything they can to get you to give them money.  They are the worst kind of predatory sleazeballs.  You're better off driving down the street throwing money out your car window.

Same caller, new caller ID. Instead of showing S W A they are now showing S A I but the pitch and organization is the same. If you try and call the number back you only get ringing until the phone company says to try your call later.

it's not a scam. it's people working just like any other business in america. there's actually dozens of charities for different law enforcement unions/associations or firefighters charities that all operate on the same principle, and that is to call first to ask permission to send a return evelpoe to send a donation. don't want to do it, tell them so. but pouting and posting on this website unfactual and unresearched opinions will get you no where.

I got a call from the number listed above. Only 3 rings, then hung up. No message.

Received this call 972-496-2217 at 8:15 this morning...no one was on the line when we answered. I called back, this time blocking my number from THEIR Caller-ID and no one picked up...it just said "Memory is Full". What Gives?
