Robot calls 6 times daily. Balance was paid to home depot 30 days ago, but calls continue. Attempted to navigate the robot system to report payment, message said please hod for a rep, then call was cut off after 5 minutes of elevator music.. I have cut up my Home Depot card, and gone to Lowes. I am a contractor & spent about 11k there last year. This dispute was over a $93.00 payment...it seems like these guys are real geniuses!

Caller I.D. simply reads "Texas".  No voicemail message indicating the purpose of the call or its intended recipient is ever left by the caller.  I also receive multiple daily calls from the above numbers at my workplace phone number.  According to the website 800notes.com, many people are being harassed or annoyed by this caller.  According to 800notes.com, the business has been recorded by various consumers' Caller I.D. systems as "CTI", "Citicard", "Citicard collections", or some variant thereof, however, as they continue to deprive me of the courtesy of knowing for whom they are calling or for what purpose, I do not feel obliged to answer their calls, or to endure their harassment, which is why I am filing this complaint.

Here is the log of calls I’ve received:
02/07/2008 – 11:32 am from 972-655-0010 to work
02/06/2008 – 6:56 pm from 972-655-0010 to home
02/06/2008 – 4:37 pm from 972-655-0010 to work
02/05/2008 – 8:34 pm from 972-653-1000 to home
02/05/2008 – 4:08 pm from 972-655-0010 to home

I get about four or five calls a day from this # 972-655-0010 and a few days ago I started getting calls from 972-653-1000. Both #'s never leave a message and I haven't had any response when I answer the calls. I can hear people talking in the background, but they never talk to me.

I've gotten 2 sets of calls from this number from 2 different people today. Both were very hostile & aggressive. They seemed to be scam callers trying to badger people into revealing personal information. They hung up when I confronted them. I don't have any reason to have debt collectors call me & debt collectors probably wouldn't be afraid to identify themselves.

We do  know your account number but due to security reason we do not give out your account number during outbound calls. Outbound calls are less secure than inbound calls there for limited information and account changes can be made. If she asked for your social she probably meant the last four numbers not the entire thing. If your still iffy you can always ask for the last four of the account number, they can give out that info or your account password.

Come on people, this is a scam. Never give out your information and if you don't know who it is, don't call them back!  If you have any questions, call the bank directly.  They're basically relying on the fact that SOMEONE in this country will have a late Home Depot or Citicard bill, call back and give out all of their info on the phone.  If someone isn't on the line immediately it's because they're using an automated system to ping the phone calls.

Sheesh.

Debt Collector
I do have a late Citicard bill, but this whole thing sounds like a scam. I know the numbers to call to discuss the payment plan I'm on and this is NOT one of them.
This sounds very similar to a scam that recently got outted by the BBB in August. There is a band of either off=shore or California based foreigners who got a hold of sensitive bank info, ss numbers, etc. They call and harrass anyone about a bad debt, payday loan that's not been paid up, and tell you you will go to jail if you do not give them a cc number to pay up right away. They demand you have your attorney of record call or else you are going to be served with court papers and sent to jail which is b.s. because in the USA you don't go to jail for an unpaid debt. The catch here is they have so much of your personal info you might be scared into paying. But most people react to their harrassment (THEY ARE WICKED RUDE) realizing something is fishy. Especially if, as in the above examples, you do not HAVE any payday loan, never took a payday loan out, or paid one off a while back. Here it seems it has to do with Home Depot. This sounds like these idiots are just at it again trying to scare you into paying them money. THEY ARE A PHONEY COLLECTION AGENCY. THIS IS A SCAM. They call random nos. that's why a lot of us are getting calls for a card or account we don't have. They are simply betting on you being in trouble with an account and wanting to settle it up by paying it off (giving them your account info so you can be scammed out of $$$).
REPORT THIS TO THE FTC.GOV
or to the ic3.gov FBI online
These people are criminal and need to be stopped!

Are these those Nigerian scams?  Sounds like some one is trying to get some money from people, but they don't want to be forthcoming, and that sounds like a scam.  They alleged to be collecting, but have no information on you, and want you to divulge your personal information.  Never give your SS# out to anyone, especially over the phone.  Most banks ask for a secret password, and they don't ask for your SS#, if they are the bank they should know that information already, and they should do everything they can to protect it.
