Caller ID was "ROXBURY TWP." In reading the previous posts, this caller ID is apparently fraudulent.

Scam. The message for me was from Visa with the same concept - that my debit card was now restricted from online shopping because they needed more information. Do not press 1 to continue.

Calling from a bank, said debit card frozen. Don't bank with that bank, but even if I did, wouldn't give them time of day.

Called my wifes cell at 9:15pm claiming her Berkshire Bank debit card was locked and they needed the card number to re-activate it. Classic phishing scam that can be seen from a mile away. One good thing about this is that they are using the Roxbury Township number, after all pretty much all town governments are nothing but thiefs anyway! so at lease it's fitting!

Received call at 8:00pm EST on 6/10/13. They gave the same message as everyone else reported, only the caller asked about my "Berkshire Bank" debit card. Funny thing is, I don't have a debit card from that bank, nor have I ever done any business with Berkshire Bank. I do live in western Massachusetts which has Berkshire Bank branches. It now seems that they are fine tuning their approach and targeting people using local banks to sound more authentic. You have to give it to those scammers they fine tunetheir scams to sound more real. I strongly suggest warning your friends and relatives, especially the elderly, about this scam. Unfortunately, there IS A SUCKER BORN EVERY MINUTE!

I just used my business Credit Card for an online purchase and received a call from this # an hour later. Pressed 1 to see if anyone would answer but it directed me to enter my debit card #. Pushed end call after that. No bank or CC institution will force you to enter your personal information unless "you" initiate the call!!!!!!!!!! IT IS A SCAM AND THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE SHOT!!!

Just an FYI, giving your routing number to PayPal is completely secure. For almost two years, that is how I received my paycheck when I worked for a company overseas. Never once did I have an issue with their services, nor have I ever had any suspicious activity on my bank account or anywhere else. I've made many purchases from eBay using PayPal and have been a happy and completely satisfied PayPal user for well over 5 years. I think the way these people are getting number is simply by starting at the proverbial 1 and going up. My cell phone was called, and then my husband's phone number, which is about 4000 greater than my number, was called several hours later.
| JWilson 2013-05-27 00:58:33 Unknown |
Well, they are still at it; I just received the same call and hung up. SCAM!
