stop leaving message, stop, stop!!!!

Showed up on caller ID, 2/18/09, 6:51 p.m. Did not leave a message.

Recorded message says something about refinancing and I didn't listen to the rest.  I didn't ask for this phone call and I don't ever want to get one again.  I immediately started pressing 0 and all other buttons on the phone trying to somehow get to a real person.  Finally someone answered and as soon as I asked to be taken off the call list the person hung up on me.  How do I get rid of these people?  This is rediculous!  I'm tired of these unsolicited phone calls.  I am already on the DO NOT CALL list.  I have an unpublished number.  How do these people get my phone number?  Will someone please cut them off!

They phoned me twice today - exact same people, but the first time they called their number was blocked. The second time, I got this number. I tried very delicately to learn more information about the company but as soon as I did that they immediately hung up on me. Why are these criminals not in jail??

...The woman who answers the phone actually does sound like someone who has spent some time in jail. She mumbles and she sounds quite stupid.

I am so tired of this. These people have been calling regularly with almost the same message as the one by RIX above. When I called back the girl answered "YEAH?" really obnoxiously and when I said "Hello?" thinking maybe I got the wrong number. All of the sudden she changed her voice and said "Would you like help with your morgage?" when I said "no, I would like you to remov..." she SLAMMED the phone down in the middle of my sentence.
There has got to be something that can be done about this. It is harrassment and should be illegal since they offer no way to have your number removed.
The number they leave as a call back 1-800-378-3124 (the one I called) comes back on a reverse lookup as:

DCB Computers and Graphic Arts Svc, 1190 E. 180th St., Bronx, NY 10460-2401

The message identifies the person as Tim McFadden with "The Loan Modification Dept" and says "according to your file..."

Same thing happened to me this evening - hit the button to be put through to a person, said that I am on the Do-Not-Call registry, started to ask them to put me on their Do-Not-Call list, and the college girl working in that boiler room yelled "Terrorist, Terrorist!" and slammed down the phone. Reported the number to the FTC, and logged it. If I get another robo-call from them, I'll file a police report.

Call and either spam me with a recording re: loan modification or leave a recorded message. We have no need. Wish they would STOP CALLING.

Here is the TELEMARKETER SOLICITATION MESSAGE:

"Hello.  This is Michael Brass calling from the loan modification department with Intracounty Records at 1-800-219-9815.  I'm calling about your current mortgage situation.  The county in which you live in qualifies for our loan modification and payment reduction program.  This allows us to reduce your loan payments and loan balance without having to refinance.  If your payments are going up or you are falling behind, we can assist you in avoiding possible foreclosure.  Call us back at 1-800-219-9815."
