"Do not call" lists don't work in Missouri.

My caller ID said this call came from Wilmington, MA.

The recorded message said it was my last chance to lower my interest rate to 6%.  NO bank/credit card company name was given.

Get calls from these guys all the time.  I look at caller id and ignore.  I think they upped the anted today, as the phone rang and rang and never went to voicemail.  I heard a click in the ring after 4 rings.  This is when my VM picks up.  It clicked and proceeded to ring about 15 times.  They hung up and the process immediately repeated itself.

I recieved the same type call again this morning.  I was told to lower the rates for my Visa.  I do not use a Vias.  I am on the National Do Not Call List, so why they are calling me is a mystery.  I will not give out any information.  Tell were told the same thing before.  I do not have a visa.

I receive annoying phone calls asking me to lower my credit card interest rates.  I don't have a credit card!  I have pressed the number on several occasions to be removed from the list and they continue to call.  Today I tried to speak with a customer service rep to ask to be removed from the list and he, Timothy, hung up on me.  Please help get these people from calling me!

This number will not stop calling; on MO No Call List

I am on the "so-called" Do Not Call list...getting as many calls from creeps as i got before...the latest from 9875702241...THE DO NOT CALL LIST IS A BUNCH OF 'YOU KNOW WHAT!' Its useless, we're at the mercy of these crooks and they do nothing about it. I've reported numerous numbers to the FCC which also goes nowhere...
ENOUGH! WHAT can be done about this?!

I am on the Do Not Call list...but keep getting unwanted calls...last night from 978-570-2441. This so-called Do Not Call list is a fraud...I'm getting as many unwanted calls as I got before...WHAT can we do about this?!

A postscript:
Neither US Federal, or US State law enforcement agencies can do much about these crooks. The electronic equipment to run this tele-scam fits in a couple of suitcases.  The crooks merely get an airline ticket to another country, a hotel room or apartment, and set-up shop all over again.

Best thing: 1) get caller ID
2) get an answering machine
3) simply do not answer calls you aren't familiar with and NEVER call back a strange number.

IF you want some faint glimmer of revenge: try answering them  in a foreign language or even in gibberish.
(I've enjoyed doing a Carl impersonation from movie Slingblade on them; "You talk funny, hummmmm".  "You like mustard on them french fry's? hummmmmm"}

Another Example:
Say -->  "Privet" (means Hi-Hello in Russian)
Then say keep saying ----> Spasiba, harasho! (means "fine ,thanks!" in Russian)
Finally tell them ----> Dasvidania! (means goodbye in Russian)

They'll still call ,but you get to learn some other languages while you mess with them. Try Googling some Japanese or Korean salutations.

They will never stop calling, they will use other phone ID's , there are lots of these scams. Feel glad that YOU know it's a scam.

I have asked that my number be removed from these annoying calls to no avail.  Next step is to my state AG.

LQQK, these calls are made by an automated machine. They pretend to offer some service, or some credit inquiry, etc etc.
If you are curious (or disturbed) enough to "press a button" to speak to a human ... then you have fallen into their trap.

They are often a foreign based gang of IDENTITY THIEVES , thus the broken "Engrish" they utter when they curse at you. They re-route their 'call origin' to mask the fact that the Caller ID is faked. Since they can be calling from a hotel room in the Caribbean, or India, or Malaysia , wherever,: do you really think they can be caught?

They robotically call thousands of phone numbers hoping to hook a person into believing they represent a legitimate concern.

Oh well. Talk to them a while and you will see their goal is to slowly pry your identity information from you. Best bet is to not answer their calls, don't talk to them at all, they will sell your phone number anyway and you will see scores of callers pretending to "collect" something from you ( a survey, an opinion, a utility feedback,  a zombie debt: the list is endless}.

Such is Technology in the 21 Century in the hands of thieves.

"Card Srvc" left a message that it was URGENT that I call them about my last chance to.... and at that point I deleted it.  What good is the Do Not Call registry if no company ever heeds it?
I hope I'm home next time they call, I'm going to tell them I'm recording the call for legal purposes.  Idiots.

It's been a month now, but the calls have started again, with the same message (and caller ID - "Service Message") as before.  Even the originating number is the same.  Once again I've filed a complaint with the national do not call registry, and I would suggest that anyone receiving calls from this number do the same.  Whatever you do, DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!  Don't call them back, don't try to stop them yourselves, because apparently they really don't CARE what you want.  If you establish a business relationship with these people, they are entitled to call you even if you've registered your number.  The ONLY way to stop them - in this case - is to tell them to stop, and if you read the posts here you'll see how eager they are to please.  Again, don't answer their calls, don't call them back, don't try to "chat" with them.  File a complaint. (here---> www.donotcall.gov/)  It may be the only way we, collectively, can shut scams like this down.  JD

I don't know that this does any good.  My calls were from Rachel at Credit Card Services.  If you ask to be taken off the call list, they hang up.  My Missouri Attorney General says these calls originate from Discover Card.  I wrote them today and demanded to be taken off their list.  Their address is

Got another call today at 12:33pm. This time it was from 978-570-2441 "servicemessage".  This is "Rachel' from card holder services with an important message about lowering your rate.  This offer will expire soon so press 1 to talk to someone or press 3 to discontinue further notices.  I pressed 3 and hung up.  I assume another number will start calling.  I am sure the list is passed or sold from one group to another.  Yesterday the same call from "card holder services", but from the number 503-457-1034 which showed up as Pactel (Pacific Bell Telephone carrier) or unknown.  The calls were at 9:47a, 11:53a, 1:22p, 3:25p and 6:47pm.  I answered the last call heard the beginning of the message and pressed "0" for about 20 seconds and hung up.  I suppose that is how I rated a call from a different number.  They also called my cell phone at 1:03pm yesterday - same message, different number (567-225-4427) - unknown caller.  These must be some of the most laziest, unproductive couch potatoes in the world.  Get a real job!!

My elderly mother has received 2 of these calls this week.  She is on the do not call list!

Called 9-1-2011 @ 10:46, asked to press 3 to opt-out from all future offers.  We'll see...

Caller ID stated "Service Message" at phone number 978-570-2441.  Robo call says they want to sell me a home security system.  Got two pit bulls right here - all the security I need.  They said to press 1 to speak to someone about the system, and to press 9 to have your number removed from them calling.  As I'm lonely and really have nothing else to do, I just hung on the line, which eventually went dead.  Even the telemarketers won't speak to me!

I have received 2 of an automated recording calls this morning saying this call was in regards to your credit card, and even though there was no problem with your current balance, you should speak with someone immediately regarding your eligibility to receive lower interest rates on my credit card. You could receives rates as low as 6.9%. Press "1" to speak with a customer service representative. This is my final call about lowering my interest rates. Or Press 3 to be removed off our list.  SCAM!

"Card Services" call, several of them..  No Problems with my card, just want to offer a lower interest rate...  Luckily, never around when they call...

When I pushed the # 3 button which I was told to push if I wanted no more calls from this number,some woman mumbled something.  When I asked her to repeat what she had said her response was"you heard me".  When I responded that I had not understood, she replied"I don't care" and hung up on me.  

Since I don't know the name of the company,I will tell you that it was somehting about a new credit card rate.

Previous postings to this msg board (see: "592joe" & "J. Dyle") are very informative and both are correct. How I want the people to stop calling me is when I get someone "Live" on the phone, I tell them "This call is being recorded. Do Not Call Me Again. Would you like to continue this call?"  Invariably they will say no and hang up.

Repeatedly receive calls from this company.  Tired of hearing about "Rachel from cardholder services".  Asked to be taken off the list and lady hung up on me.  I do not appreciate this nor will I tolerate it.

Constant calls from this number, I would suspect probably from BofA since they recently sold my mortgage to Greentree LLC and I objected and complained since they are a hardcore harassment agency (never late customer). I transferred my CCard balance, closed my checking account and dumped BofA immediately. I no longer have a financial tie to this company and am on the MO and Federal No Call lists. Robo call with no live person, and they have added 11 to their caller ID recently.
Report them and if you have BofA in any portion of your financial life, dump them immediately.

Report him to your attorney general of your state that they call and you advised them you are on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

We have been getting these calls to "lower your interest rates...blah, blah,blah".

Just another rogue robo caller trying to rip people off. We are on both State and Federal Do Not Call List .... but we get at least 2 calls of this type per day.

Don't answer these calls, these rogue telemarketers are known for identity theft and bogus financial scams.

HERE IS AN UPDATED LIST: I have been doing a little investigating on these numbers used for:  "Thomas Home Protection" , "Tom at Home Protection Services" ,
 " Tom with Home Security Group", "Home Tech" and "Home Protect". The  phone numbers are most likely from some unknown telemarketer(s), pranksters, phishing,
or possibly scammers, whatever the case they are a nuisance. As far as I am concerned these constant phone calls seem a lot like  harassment, stalking, and invasion of privacy.

Here are some of the numbers that I have found that seem to be connected with
Home security so far, there are probably many more. Though occasionally some of the numbers are also used for other purposes-lower morgtage, credit card, test drive
a car, computer virus removal and so on, they usually eventually tie back into the "Home Security" line using the same number. Many times they will have a call Identification of   "GRNSEC". or, "OTO"  

You can do what you want but I am not answering any numbers I do not recognize, especially these. "Tom" or whoever it is needs to be stopped, everyone is tired of his speed dial calling all day long.

see if you wanted to test drive a car. Sometimes used the name "Tom". Also has mentioned sign on front lawn- this sounds a lot like the "Home Security" boys.

323-863-7187 Possibly ADT Home Security on this number, could be harmless and legit, but the continuous calls seems to be bothersome to some  none the less.

As you can see these jerks have a wide variety of phone no. to choose from. This list may be just the tip of the iceberg.
I suggest putting a block on all of the numbers here if you are able to. And adding any new numbers that come up in the future
from "Tom" onto this site asap. That way we can block it BEFORE getting a call from it.
