These people have called me repeatedly and even though my answering machine invites the caller to leave a message they do not do so.  I am not obligated to call anyone back, especially those that do not identify themselves.  I have repeatedly asked them to take my name off their calling list and have nicely inform them that this is my number, not the number of the person they are calling about who no longer even lives in my town.  I am also not obligated to help them find anyone.  I am not related to that person.  I have never done business with American Express.  But the calls keep coming.... The comments below sound like collection agency in the flesh.  What the respondent seems to be avoiding is that the caller is calling for someone other than me or my family.  I returned the call to again notify them that this is my number and please stop calling it.  I owe them no other information about me, my address, or other people.  What a crock to say you can trust someone because they are a law office, what a joke.  They break as many or more laws than the general population in my experience.  They often think they are above the law and have grandiose ideas of themselves.  Absolutely I made sure I did not have some debt I overlooked, but when they are asking for someone else I owe them nothing.  I have been courteous and asked my number be removed as I am not that person.  That is all I owe them.

This bill has already been paid and they keep calling everyday. I want them to stop calling us.

They called me and i'm not even the age to even own a credit card or anything. I told the lady to f*** off the first time because i saw it was a unknown number. Moments later the bi*** calls me back with the actual number and says again in higher voice *obviously pissed* "this is a recorded call" and i hung up. Blocked their number.

Why don't you just go throw yourself in front of a train.  Just do it.

You must be a real stand up guy.  Let your credit card debt go to a judgment, then get wages garnished.  Then the wage garnishment gets pushed aside because you neglected your children.   Hopefully you live in a state like Ohio, where the judgment is good for 20 years

Yes they have to go to court to do that . No one I mean no one but the court can allow someone to put a lien or uphold your checking acct or even your pay check. It's 25% they can garnish up to. If you don't get a court date it's BS. I know I went through with it. If you get a date go to court the collectors most likely won't show up because they don't have all the paper work "contract" from your orrinal loan anyway. Judge throws out. Even if they show up go it all works out

They sued me too.  My circumstances are exactly like yours.  I settled with everyone, but they refused, wanted it all now.  After more than a year my case has been disposed.  They are all talk, but when they get to court they come apart.  I got a summary judgment but they filed for a new trial on day 29.  We went to trial and the judge disposed the case in my favor. If they would have been nicer on the phone instead of nasty and evil sounding, I would have settled.  They Pi$$ed me off so much I just denied everything and they could not prove their case because they were sooo unprepared for court.

Or pay your bills,  so you don't have to worry about phone calls?

This morning I received a call from 978-686-2255.  After reading the people's review, I know it is a harassing call.  Just want to remind other people do not answer this number and try to file complaint for harassment.

try getting divorced from a compulsive spender that knows all your credit card numbers and runs them all to the max. then get a decree that states that the debt is hers...(although the cards were in my name) .then she files bankruptcy. the credit card companies swarm on you to pay for every card...that the decree said was not your debt. Wrong..it is your debt ... they do not honor divorce decrees!  heads up everyone. do not agree to a decree that states that your credit cards will be paid by someone else... the law is not in your favor... try paying $50,000.00 on debt the judge said was not your to pay. That is after loosing the house, my life's savings in her annuity (I paid the bills while she placed 16,000. a year in an annuity in her name for the tune of $123,000.dollars. Another mistake folks..  Rather get a settlement, negotiate the sale of the house, or payment from the other spouse through a Qualified domestic order. if possible. be on guard

I have been paying on my debt agreed to by chase every month on time. i am a stay at home wife and have no income. how did my account go to a collection agency when i made regular payments agreed upon. I just got a call which started "this call is being recorded. I'd like to speak to David Noble please."
Since I don't know Mr. Noble I told him so and hung up.

The caller didn't say who he was or why he was calling, but I see from other reports here that it is a collection agency.

This call was from Massachusetts.
