I got a call from this number today 7/13/11 at 12:57pm on my cell phone and when I refused the call they immediately called my home phone at 1:03pm. My caller ID shows Cambece Law. They left a message on my answering machine lady says if this is *my name* continue listening if this in not *my name* discount now. She then goes on talking about how she is with an Attorney's office and trying to collect on a debt

The number they called was not given to a single person that links it to me. They are using phonebook databases in hopes of finding people that owe money. They asked if I was *insert my name here* and I said no. Then they asked if I knew *me* I said no. Then they proceeded to ask if the number as at *insert my grandmother's address* and I said no. (The last part was true.) However, I don't feel I did anything wrong in denying because the number they called does not even belong to me and I've only EVER given it to one person and that person is a friend in Canada....
They claim that they will not call back, we sha'll see since this is the third time they've called and have said it before.

the prior message is in response to the calls coming from 978-826-1288. if you call the 800 # listed above this post it's the National FTC line and they will take your complaint over the phone.

file your compaint with the FTC 1-800-771-7755, I just got off the phone with them and they said the callers were in violation of the FDCPA Laws, which I figured as I'm also unemployed ... layed off bill collector so I know the laws about collections. Call the 800 # and file your compaint right over the phone.

Called yesterday regarding a past due bill. Told them I was aware of it but have been unemployed for 3 years. Also informed them I just found out yesterday I have cancer, my husband has cancer and we have a child to raise. No sympathy what so ever. Wanted me to make payment arrangements. Told them I need to worry about getting well and raising my child. Drilled me over and over again. Finally hung up on them. Thinking of filing complaint for their way of collecting.

Got a call from this # on both my home and cell # 978-826-1288, Say they're a Law Firm Attorney Anthony Cambece and have mailed me 3 letters regarding a debt. Refused to give me a phone # (got it from *69) or an address, had to fight with the guy to get the name of the supposed law firm and the name the person who called. When I wouldn't talk to him without an address he passed phone to another person (said it was a supervisor) who also refused to give phone # or address said "it doesn't matter". Would not provide any information but wanted money from me over the phone. A legitimate debt collector would provide this information, by FDCPA they have to provide this information. "IF" they are a law firm and collecting on bad debt they're going about it in an illegal way, I think they're a scam trying to scare people, both men I talked to were very uptight and aggressive on the phone trying to scare me.
