They will call for years.
Going to court is not that bad,they have you fill out a form about your other bills and how much you make a month.They do not check the info you give them.Lets say you make 400.00 a week and all your bills add up to 300.00 a week,They compensate your gas,food,entertainment,ect..

If you owe 10,000 to a company,they might ask if you can afford 20.00 a month until it is paid.
This is an example only,but paying 10.00 or 20.00 a month is a lot better than paying hundreds a month.

You can not go to jail for credit card debt!!

It's not only shady people (as you call them) that receive harassing calls from creditors/attorneys.  It's people like myself---who is receiving harassing calls--because my boyfriend had a business that went under years ago.  They were given my number by his ex-wife, because she is a very disgruntled woman.  This should be illegal for a) someone to give your cell phone number out to anyone (especially creditors; b) for atty's/creditors to call someone who has absolutely nothing to do with the debt, etc. that they are trying to collect on.  Where are the laws that protect the innocent...

It is a shady debt collector.  Probably trying collect debts from other shady people.

I do the same with all unsolicited calls.  Answer the call, say "please hold" put them on "hold" until they get the message.

Cambece Law Office is what the Caller Id says...They keep referencing the wrong name.  Sounds like BS to me...They haven't given up they call all the time and won't stop for about 2 months now

They collect for bank of america, Otherwise known as Skank of America. They called me up, and I told them, "Get a Bailout!," then I hung up. Best tactic to use with all collectors. :)

What you may want to do is send a certified letter along with the supporting docusments showing you are correct and they are not to the Attorney Generals office in the state this law firm operates in.  Also, file a dispute with all three credit reporting agencies.

Collection agency of some sort. All I could get out of the person.

This is the Cambese law firm who buys Bank of America loans and then goes hardcore on its old customers... I have proven to both these people and the bank manager that my loan was paid on time and even the bank manager can't figure out how to stop this... Once they sell a loan, even if their wrong, they have no way of stopping this firm from adding huge charges and then going hardcore with the harassment.. I've tried showing all paperwork to both bank and these jerks only to hear them say oh well... It clearly shows the loan paid on time at the branch with teller and time stamp... B of A has no comment and the harassment continues at all hours...

I got a call at my work phone from this number, no message, they also called my work cell number.
