Got a call from this yoyo today claiming to be with the U. S. Attorney's Office (if I understood him correctly, working with the FBI) stating that I was going to be arrested tomorrow morning if I didn't go to Wal-Mart or somewhere and wire $ today.  When I asked who the debt was owed to, he mentioned Cash Advance U.S.A.  This company and others just like him have contacted my sister, my husband, my kids, friends, my job.  I have reported it to the Federal Trades Commission (however, they are currently a part of the federal shutdown), the local attorney general's office, district attorney's office, and other entities.  However, it doesn't appear it has done any good.  This continues on a daily basis.  I have gotten calls from 3 different numbers today.  The other 2 numbers are 877-312-1109 (Hawkins & Johnson Litigation) and 855-312-1109 (N.I.P. & Associates).  How many companies buy these accounts from payday loan companies and continue collecting even after they have been paid in full?  How can I stop this harassment?

i received two calls from this number one with a voicemail stating his name was john williams with the attorneys office and claimed i had a debt of $500 for a loan an claimed to have my ssn then told me i i failed to comply an pay that the police would be at my door in the morning in texas so i corrected him saying i dont live in texas at which point he got rude telling me that i do infact live in texas these idiots use magic jack to clone numbers to collect money from unsuspecting people by useing the threat of jail which is scary to most but know that if you have anyone reguardless of the number i they dont sound like an american then its a scam dont be fooled people ive been dealing with these a** clowns for years the best was as i was waiting to get onto a bus to go to iraq one called saying he was FBI and i owed money or im going to jail they dont care who you are hell have fun with them if anything i get a kick out of it so why not again dont be fooled by these thieves

Just got the same type call on my message machine...Indian accent, can't really understand the guy at all, can hear others talking in the back ground.  I did hear the word arrest in the rant, but the connection seems bad..He spoke very quickly.  Left a call back number.  He didn't have my correct name,so I am a little puzzled.  Also, I have never went for a loan.  Only one call so far, but I work with someone who had this same routine happen to them and they were calling our work as well.  He went to the police, who called the number and the guy hung up on the cops.  Cops then reported it to the FBI because the calls continued (harrassment by phone).  Finally stopped after a week.  Best advice is ignore them.

I have received 6 calls in 2 days now.  Same guy with a thick accent, telling me I'm going to be arrensted.  I think I'll call him back and tell him HE is being arrested!

My husband came home from work and informed me that he received 3 calls today, it was a man with and Hindu Accent asking for me and that hes an Attorney General Attorney. So of course I called and this man with the indian accent says to me that I have a debt and that it needs to be paid off. That I need to write down on a piece of paper and that he will explain exactly whats going on and will be happening. Something was suspicious about this man because what he didnt know is that I NEVER give out my husbands phone number but only to my Doctor or Hospital info. Something clicked and i googled this number and BINGO, to my surprise I found I was not the only one this man was calling . Those B*****ds !! We need to stick together and inform others immediately. Who should I call to report this number ? Please lets stick together!!!!

Got a call today from an unknown gentleman with a strong Indian accent.  He said I owed money to a pay day loanh account - I have never executed any transactions with.  He did not accept credit cards ony wanted a GreenDot card with $ 533 on it.  I did not comply

This dude with an indian accent called and said Cash Advance USA was opening a court case against me and that if I didn't settle out of court the county sherif would come and arrest me.  WTF!

Received a call from Greg Henry stating I owe 400.00.  I ask him for a statement and he told me I could get the statements in court.  I kept demanding a statement to be faxed to me and he hung up.  Next voice mail I recieved is I would be arrested so be at my door.

Got a call from this number saying it was Greg Henry an attorney saying my husband would be arrested . We reported it to the local Sherriffs dept , the State attorney generals office and the FBI . . I called him back called him a thief a ********** a terrorist a t**** head and a c**** jockey . He called back my husband talked to him . Couldn't tell my husband his SS number or an address . . Ive been calling this prick for two days now and leaving nasty and sometimes funny messages . Screw him he harassed us first . He picked the wrong bitchs husband to mess with . WTf is he going to do file a complaint against me ? HAHAHA I suggest everyone call this a***ole and harass him for days weeks or months.

Well same as you peeps I had the same number call me 3 times so far saying he was from the Federal Attorney Generals Office. Said his name was Greg Henry saying I took out a loan in 2012 for $400 and that I would be arrested tomorrow if I didn't talk to him. Well needless to say I didn't give him any info and when asked to speAk to his boss he lost his cool and started yelling at me lmao. So I proceeded to call the Texas attorney generals office, my states attorney generals office and the FBI. The guy said the loan was from a company called cash advance so beware you all. This all happened in Maine so their going all over it sounds.

I received the same calls since February until now. I was called by my banks fraud department stating purchases up to $3,000 were declined in Texas and Louisiana. After I confirmed that I was not in those states and that I did not try to spend $3,000 at a sporting goods sore and $350 at a uniform store  they closed the account. About an hour later I received a call from an "unknown" number and it was that mans voice asking for me. I kept him on the phone without saying anything and could hear him speaking in his language to another man. It sounded like they were in a busy place like an airport. They have called several times since and I have not answered. It's only been a couple of days. I'm really frightened that these people have my card number and scared they have my old address. I have reported the number to as many federal agencies I could think of. I would love some help in this matter because at this point I'm scared of their next steps-If I'm in any danger etc. I would really be careful with these calls. Take them seriously and take the appropriate action.

Why is this person calling me at least 6 to 7 times a day?  It is very annoying.  It is a guy with a heavy indian accent named John Williams. He says that I am going to get arrested tomorrow morning at my home if I do not return his call.  I am so annoyed!! How can these people get away with this.  Someone is going to believe them and give them all of their information and find out that they are getting robbed.  I am going to call my local police and see if they have any suggestions. I am sick of this person.  A few months ago it was from a California number with a woman with a chinese accent saying the same exact thing.  FYI phone callers.....I still haven't been arrested!!!!

Received call from this number. Thick, almost sounds indian or spanish accent. Says they are atty who have my name and social security number, and something about a court case. He says to call for details.

Got a call this morning from this number. Said his name was John Williams, strong indian accent. Said he was gonna be at my residence tomorrow to arrest me. This was all on a voice mail. These people are crazy. i appreciate the others who have left comments regarding this number. What a scam!

i dont know who this person is and where they are calling from. i ignore the calls. he recording says that im going to jail tomorrow. and tomorrow. and tomorrow. smh. i will block the number.

4 messages from Mr Williams today while at work.  The accent is so thick that can't even understand what is being said.  I am glad I Googled the number and found all this information.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I was just called by this  John Willams as well and I did have a payday loan ,but i paid it in full. This is very sad.Its hard enough out there and to be scammed is not right I hope they catch his scamming behind and bury him under the jail.

I had the same call.  Had a voice mail yesterday from John Williams.   When they called today I answered and said it was John Williams, then said he was transferring me to his boss Greg Henry and sounded like the same man.  neither spoke at the same time and was a strange call transfer like they didn't put me on hold and was same phone.  So I suspect it was the same person.

He said the same thing.  I had to pay $369 on a $550+ loan, (could not give exact amount)  and that the Sheriff would be here Monday to arrest me.  

He was belligerent and rude and demanding, telling me what I could and couldn't live off of and that there was no way for me to have little money at the end of the month.

My call was the same as all of the rest. The man said his name was John Williams from the Attorney General's office in Texas. He would not give me any information about himself or what he wanted me to do, but he kept stating that I had an outstanding payday loan and that there was a warrant out for my arrest. I asked him to verify my address, and he recited a correct former address, but not my current place of residence. He hung up on me twice, but I kept calling back trying to figure out if he was a fraud. I hope no one gets scammed into sending him any money. I am very aware of my accounts and my credit rating, and it's awful to know that there are people out there who would try to jeopardize that.

Ive gotten 4 phone calls in the last 3 hrs from this number. I couldnt hardly understand what he is saying because of his very thick Indian accent. Told me I was involved in a legal case & asked me if I knew anything about it said he was going to put me on hold to get someone else on the phone..."ok" & he did & I hung up at that point. Like I said it was hard to understand him because of his accent.

Got a call from a man with a thick indian accent, said he was from the attorney general office. And a payday loan company was going to have me arrested for being default on a loan.  Never had a payday loan, this is a fake, just trying to get money and your info.  Be smarter than this idiot.

I received two phone calls from the same guy with the thick accent. Lol! So glad I looked him up 1st. He used the same story as he did on you all.

It scared me for a second but I keep close track of all my loans & the amount & name he gave me wasn't right.
