I received a letter stating I owed 289.99 with regards to a past account. I had not sent a cancellation fee. Due to the privacy act to please call them for any additional information. If this is ignored,your fees could multiply. I haven't heard of the company they said I owed money to. I ignored.

Received the letter from NRS - Collection Agency saying I owed them $189.99.  Same as everyone else...for a magazine subscription that I did have several years ago.  The address for the company is 1750 Highway 160 West Suite - 101-197, Fort Mill, SC 29708, but the address on envelope is 11056 Renaissance Dr STE #220 Davidson, NC 28036.

I answered the call.  The woman's name is Julianne, or so she says.  She is calling from a bogus collection company called NRS.  I contacted NRS and the letter doesn't match theirs and I am not in their files.  She might have sent a letter saying you owe money, usually 189.99.  The address on the envelope is from the UPS store.  The address on the letter was different, from a contractor.  If you get this letter do your homework.  Do not pay or send money without checking it out for yourself.  I would report to the NC police and the post office.
