Got call from 989-623-6505 claiming to be credit card service.  I don't even have a credit card.  When I told them I was on the do not call list they said they are exempt from that list.

I'd love to use NoMoRobo, but AT&T won't enable simultaneous ring, and they couldn't care less that their customers are being harassed by telescum.

I'm on the list to get Google Fiber (5Mb/second for FREE), and it should be connected before summer's end.  After that, it's VOIP (via Ooma) for me and goodbye AT&T!

As I understand it, Ooma has their own blacklist continuously updated by Ooma subscribers - similar to NoMoRobo, and works the same -  ie. your phone won't even ring if the number is on their list.  Plus you can block area codes, partial numbers with wildcards, etc. just like phone tray, and the better blocking devices and phones often mentioned on this site.

There's light at the end of tunnel.

"Cardholder Services" robo-call. I wish NoMoRobo and Comcast would get their stuff together so that I can finally use it for my home phone. My cell is SOL, as it is Verizon.

You are referring to ordinary call blocking on Comcast. Comcast may not have it in your area, and you may not be able to set it up even if they do, but you should investigate the possibility of using Nomorobo to screen your incoming calls. I've had it less than 2 weeks and it blocks an average of 3 or 4 new robocalls every day. It's a free service for individuals and it constantly adds telemarketers' numbers to its list for blocking as soon as they are reported. It can keep up with telemarketers a lot better than we can as individuals.

Go to https://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/phone/nomorobo and see if Nomorobo is available in your area and read about how it works. It may not be something that you will like, but it's certainly worth investigating. I like it so far.

I've received more than a dozen "Last Notification" calls from a certain robocaller (not this one -- today is the first time 989-623-6505 has called me). Makes me wonder if robocallers can count or keep track of what they've said earlier. Of course they don't count or keep track of what they've said earlier. They just let a computer dial the numbers and wait for someone to answer. And then they either press a button to let a recorded message run or speak in person, depending on which arrangement the robocall firm uses.

These scam calls seem to come in spurts, you get several a day from different numbers then they stop for a few days. They give Credit card Services as the company name. probably fake.

I am so mad at myself for answering. I never answer these calls if i dont know who it is but I was expecting a call from the Vet!  GRRR! There has to be someone in our entire country who can figure out how to stop these calls. I dont even want a home phone anymore.  No one answered when I picked up.

Got a call from this number, just now. Bad Axe MI?  *Really?*

I don't pick up long distance calls if I don't know the caller, period. No way a credit card scammer will ever get my account number anyway, since I haven't had a credit card since 1997, lol. So, it's a double irritant. Blocking.

Just got the message from Sarah.  Press #1 for person, or #5 to be removed.  I have pressed #5 enough already.  Pressed #1, and got Kelly who asked if my credit card rate was over 9.99%.  Of course.  And do I have a balance of over $2,000?  Yes. (but I pay it off every month).  She said they could help me, but she would have to transfer me to her manager.  I asked why I couldn't contact my credit card company myself.  She said I could, but they would probably only lower my rate by 1%.  I asked her if she got paid every week.  She said' "yes."  I then asked how her company made enough money to pay her.  She stated that she never asked herself that question, and was only asked to forward qualified candidates to  her manager.  I told her that I had had this same call from Sarah about 6 times in the last year, and I was tired of being harrassed by a robo call.  She said she would put my name on the Do Not Call list.  Yup.  That's for sure.

i replied to my own post because I called the # again and asked the person who answered if she got a paycheck on it that says Card Services. She said yes. So, I looked up "Card Services" in an internet search,  I found this: http://www.ag.state.mn.us/consumer/Publications/CardServicesScams.asp

The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card numbers to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!

I got a call from this number today. I called back and a woman was very rude to me and told me she would take me off their list, but she would not tell me the name of the company. So, I called back again and asked for the name of the company. This woman said it is Card Services. I pressed her and asked if that is the name that the company uses to file their taxes with the IRS. The woman said that she doesn't file the taxes for this company. I told her that someone had called me and hung up. She said that I was supposed to get an automated call and then be told to hold on the line to talk to someone. These card member services calls come here a few times a day. I have excellent credit. I do not need to lower my interest rates because I pay off my credit cards every month. Donald Duck does not mess around. Call and keep these operators on the line for as long as you can. Make them spend money to pay these people who man the phone. I do not have the time to be interrupted several times a day just because I work from home.

The company name tells you everything you need to know.  No legitimate company would have that name just from a PR standpoint.  Low level intelligence at work here.
