Could not really hear who they were looking for but once i asked who was calling they said they had the wrong number and hung up.

Hubby just used a calling card to call me from hotel in Cancun.  Same number.  Called me again an hour later...same number.

Yes, got a call from my son in Cancun from this number. Said he was using a friends phone. Must be some sort of clearinghouse number. Weird.

Received two calls from this number.  Didnt answer either time and no messages are being left.  Its a mexico number and I put it on my rejected list on my phone but they still keep getting through

I also got a call from that number, it was my son saying he arrived in Cancun

My brother was vacationing outside of the US and his phone carrier temporarily assigned him this number. Turns out its probably been assigned to hundreds of different people over the years.

Yeah, my grand father who is in Mexico right now just called me from that number.... Weird!

It shows up as unavailable.  The person is heard saying my name, as if on a speakerphone then mumbles and I can't make out anything else.  The call only lasted about 7 seconds.

FYI - my boss is vacationing in Mexico and just called me from this same number. it was a completely legitimate phone call. So this can be a scam but it might not always be.

Also got a call, then a text a couple minutes later from my sister.  It was her calling from Cozumel, Mexico.

So this is actually BOTH a) random normal people on vacay to cancun calling you from their USA personal cell phones and apparently b) ALSO shows up when yucky scammers call, wrong numbers, pranks calls originate from a cell (and maybe landline/don't know) in cancun area.  It's like a # calls/cell calls apparently go THRU to USA.  
But guess what?  New use: just confirmed what I basically knew...my spouse is THE BIGGEST LIAR/CHEATER/other??? on the face of the earth!

This number is known to be connected with a phone scam in which the caller advises that a relative is in Mexico and needs money.  I think that it's interesting and depressing that there are people (or a person) who has come to this site and peppered it with entries indicating that it is a real number and not connected to a fraud.  If you pick up a call from this number and listen to the person on the other end, you're a sucker.

It was a call from my brother in Cancun calling from his own mobile...apparently, everybody calling from Cancun shows up as this number

Haha.  Same thing here.  My stupid and insecure ex told our 4 kids that he was going to Texas when he actually took his girlfriend to Cancun.

just got a call from this number at 10:59 pm central left no message...can't get a caller id on it ? it totally freaks me out?

Just called and hung up.  Couldn't understand voice in background.

I got a call from this number when I called my sisters cell phone while she was on vacation in Cancun. (she didnt answer) Someone called me back from this number and said that they just missed a call from me.

I received a call from this number, let it go to voicemail, and got a voicemail with no voice on the end, just some rustling. Helpful to know here that it was a scam
