Who is this???????

Received a call from man with Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft Corporation.  I could hear alot of commotion in the background with other phone conversations being overheard.  He indicated their customer service dept was receving electronic notifications indicating over 287 potentially harmful junk files on my computer and if I allowed him remote access he could assist me with cleaning up my computer.  I told him I was not giving him any person information or access without verification of who he was and requested a telephone number to verify who he was.  He gave me a telephone number and his name (Steven) and gave me his license number (which amazingly matched my telephone number).  I did not feel comfortable with the telephone number he gave me as I know that all large business customer service departments have 800 telephone numbers.  I called the police department and while on the phone with them, the guy called me back.  I was instructed by the officer to tell them I had reported them and that I was aware it was a scam and requested they do not call me back. I got no response...just a hang up.

My phone has rung 3 times a day from this number. I never pick up if I do not recognize the number... I just want them to stop calling...

just got a call saying i got a 7,000 u.s. treasury grant but wants me to send them some money when i questioned them on being fake toldme he will just put me down as not interested

I just got a call from 234-567-898 and they said they were from the US Treasury Grant Department and I was going to get a $7,000 grant.  She hung up on me when I continued to question her. I said I guess I'm finally getting the free money obama promised!?!?!?!?!?

I don't know who they are. But they are harassing me. They made the comment that they know where I live and that they were coming for me. I called the ftc. and made a complaint.

I GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER TWICE. IDIDN'T ANSWER

I HAVE BEEN RECIEVING THESE CALLS EVERYDAY AT FIRST THEY WOULD TALK IN THERE LANGUNGE AND I WOULD TELL THEM I DIDN;T UNDERSTAND THEM SO I WOULD TALK TO THEM IN SPANISH AND CUSS THEM OUT AND THEY WOULD HAND UP, YESTERDAY APRIL 19,2011 THEY CALLED AGAIN AROUND 5:00 PM HERE IN EL PASO,TEXAS AND THEY FINALLY SPOKE TO ME IN ENGLISH AND I ASKED THEM WHAT THEY WANTED AND HE DIDN;T SAY ANYTHING UNTIL I CUSSED HIM OUT IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH AND HE SAID THAT HE WAS MY GOD FATHER AND I TOLD HIM THAT I DIDN;T HAVE A GOD FATHER AND CUSSED HIS BUTT OF IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH AND THEN HE HUNG UP AND HE ALSO CALLED THIS MORNING WHILE I WAS AT WORK AT 9:35 AM BUT I DIDN'T ANSWER I HAVE BEEN CALLING MY CELL PHONE SERVICE PROVIDER TO BLOCK THEM BUT I GUESS THEY HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO THOSE INDIAN GUYS R VERY SMART WHEN THEY UP TO KNOW GOOD THEY SUCK AT SPORTS BUT VERY SMART AS DOCTOR'S OR BUILDING BOMBS AND TAXI DRIVERS AND BUILDING BOMBS THAT'S WHY I'AM STARTING TO HATE SOME OF THEM NOW JUST THESE PEOPLE THAT UR DOING THESE PRANKS TO US, I HOPE WE CAN CATCH THEM SOON THNX FOR U TIME AND HOPE THAT NO ONE FALLS FOR IT I KNOW I DIDN'T I ALREADY BLOCKED MINE AND MY WIFE'S ACCOUNT I'AM NOT THAT DUMB.........

Yeah really I mean how can these a***oles be tracked!!! That's we need to be able to find out with a lil collaborative research. I'm a college student that almost fell for the sham. Weird thing was this Indian-accented dude said the same BS about a 7000$ US grant and verified an old address of mine which was were I registered for the US census. When I asked who he was affiliated with he rattled of some name of a NYC bank. Then like previous statements; tried to tell me he was was based out of WA DC. I really want to know how these scumbags get phone numbers. I'm a college student, I don't own any credit cards, s*** I have my mom pay most of my bills so I just don't understand how my info could of been leaked onto his list.

I recieved a call a few mintues ago from some asian lady stating that she worked for the government and i was one of the names picked for a grant of $7000 tax free...I was like, " what is this, some kind of fraud?" and she was like "what". I mean I knew it was fraud already because the phone number was fishy.

I have been receiving calls from this number for over 2 weeks now. It calls me everyday (with 1 or 2 exceptions in the last 2 1/2wks) sometimes twice a day. I just now noticed today that it was actually in order...123456789... Of course on my phone it's 1-234-567-898. There's not even a last digit. But all I noticed was that it was a weird area code-- Not in dallas where I live. Of course I don't answer numbers that I don't know. I have never answered and they have never left a message. The fact that there's no message left makes me think it can't be a bill collecter. From what I've read I guess it's somebody calling via the internet. I guess you can choose whatever number you want.... But WHY do they continue to call???.....*sigh..

In my birthday I recieved a call from this number (123-456-7898) the guy in the oder line identified himsel as Charles Nayton with the employee I.D. 20669529010. He said that he represent the US Government Grant Department, he even gave the web page www.usgovernemtgrant.com. He told me that the U.S. Government is going to give $7000.00 no taxeable and no payable. At the first time I beleived him because I recieved grant from the Government as a student, so I gave him my debit card information. After that, he gave me  a reference number JE167 and instructed me to call Mr.Alex Rubio at (202)684-6695 which I did. Mr Rubio (emplotyee number 2587AW)told me that I had to go to Western Union and send money to either India or Sri Lanka. Under that knowledge about the government grant I sent money to India to a guy named Vigal Yadav. During that process I recieved a call Miss Nancy Smith (employee number NS786), she represents the U.S. Federal Bank of New York (315)657-4550. She told me to send the money to Mr. Vigal Yadav. Once I did it, Mr. Rubio contacted me again and told me to send a security deposit of $325.00 to trhe same guy in India He also told me that I was going to recieve this money back. I asked him why? And he did not give me a clear answer, so I started to do some research. What did I find? that those motherf....ers are scams. I tried to make them tell me more information about them and I called the F.B.I. Also I noticed that those guys have and Indian accent and they get confused when you use fast English or ask them hard questions. The F.B.I. told me to call the Federal Treasure Commerce at 1877-382-4357 which I did. It is my hope that this son of a bi****s get caught and hang out by their testicles. I will be more than happy to testifie against them if I need to. I apologize about my bad language but I feel so fool.

Just got a call from this number.  Number looked phony, let it go to voicemail.  They left no message.  This is the fourth junk call I have received this week - all from different numbers.

I have received a call from this number for the past 2 days. They called yesterday and I didn't answer. Today they called and I picked up. This foreign guy asked for me and I asked who I was speaking with. He then told me that he was calling from Washington D.C and when I said "what can I help you with?" He hung up on me. I'm glad I ran across this website so I can give them a piece of my mind the next time they call!

I got a call from 11234567898 three times today, i didnt answer the first time the second time i answered and they asked for me, i asked who was i talking to and he hung up.. the third time they told me they were calling from the US treasury dept in Washington DC and i won 7000 dollars from the government and i told him no thank you which he was shocked and just hung up. This is a total scam, foreign people trying to get peoples social and bank info to screw them over. Dont fall for this scam people, how could the government give 7000 dollars wtih the way the economy is!

Yes, as February 26, 2011 today at 2:30pm....this [removed:lang] decides to call me about government grants as well...and asked for Angry Williams, and i said you guys always call me asking for this person take my name off your list. And i also responded who would name their child Angry Williams??? he responded so your lying and u know that person, and i said no, never heard of the person, and he told me if i am lying i will go to prison because he works for the IRS or some crap!!! i told him do not threaten me, im telling the truth now [removed:lang]....and he hung up

They call me ALL THE TIME! I curse them out, tell them I wasnt born last nite etc etc. OMG ppl, how gullible can you be to fall for this stuff? COME ON! This is AMERICA, aint nothing free my friends. DUHHHHH I told the Indian sounding caller that I smell bullsh** from a mile away, come on now & stop calling me. They still call but hang up. I cant WAIT to get them on the line again & just mess with them. They deserve it. Scammers should be fined & jailed.

I was called today from this number 11234567898 at around 5:00pm and I spoke to Jaqueline.
She gave me the same story everybody else is telling about the 7000 grant money that the government is giving away. She said I was randomly selected and was one of 15000 Americans. She then gave me a grant approval number and told me to call Mark Wilson at this number. 202 470 0949. I was unfortunate enough to fall for this SCAM and called. Mark Wilson was supposed to be the person to verify everything was correct and he told me to go to Western Union and pay 100 as a one time fee and that this was going to go to charity. I went ahead and did just that around 7 and 6 minutes later it was picked up. Too late for me to get my money back. :( I hope my experience saves atleast one person from making the same mistake I made.
