Hi, I am getting lots of call, the first msg i got was i txt now they ring at least 2 times a week always a different person with the same msg which is this is an urgent msg for my full name please give as a call back on 1300003849 and quote your reference number it is really important that we speak to you thank you.
Does anyone know who these people are? I think it is a scam as why don't they say what company their from

I had a private number call then a message left by them (which I have set to convert to text message) and it said it was a important call for [my name], they need to speak with me ASAP, a reference number and their business hours. The end of the message said "it is important to contact us during these hours, thankyou" but there was no mention of "opt out" which is what has made me want to find out who the caller is. I don't want to return the call without knowing if it's a scam. Has anyone found out who the caller is?

Had a ball with these scam artists!!  I now make it a personal mission to make these guys stay on the line for as long as possible.  Today I managed a PB of 10:09 until I got hang up on without disclosing any details! I think the best bit was where I claimed they'd rang through to a certain Big Four Bank Fraud Line and I would now need to speak to a supervisor....just gold!

Got a card in the mail asking to call asap on this number. Didnt say what for or what company just a ref number.

I rec'd the above SMS sent to my mobile, so I replied back, Pse note u have sent this SMS notification in error. I have nothing to do with your company.

Pse note... this is a prank SMS don't even attempt to call this number, moreso one knows whom one has payments with!

I got a message on my home answer machine on the 1st August that there was an urgent message for a Douglas, please call 1300003894 before 8pm. i missed the 8pm mark so rang next day as wanted to know what and who they were. When i called after 8am, a girl replied, 'D and B, good morning can i please have your reference number'. A reference number 23 million, 751 thousand...was left with urgent message, and i asked who are you looking for as wrong first name of Douglas but exact last name called to my home phone. They said they could not tell me if it was me looking for urgently unless i quote the reference number provided. I did, and now i read all these forum comments and worried like hell. I let them know I would involve police if anything suspicious and they insisted it was not me they were looking for but a Douglas. I googled info on Dun and Brad Street being Debt collection and credit reporting. I am more concerned now about buzzing noises on my home phone line and now a txt message to my mobile also claiming my mobile chosen and i have won 1,000,000 pounds and to claim,email:  frmpromo@gmail.com

For the past month I have been receiving calls at least four times per day from a blocked number. Every time I answer it, they stay silent on the line for a bit, then hang up. One time I actually got someone who sounded foreign (maybe Indian) it was very hard to hear and understand him. He asked for my details and when I asked who it was, and why they were continuously calling me, He said he was "calling from a company who does alot of things for alot of companies in Victoria," I refused to confirm my details as he would not tell me specifically who he was or what company he was calling for.... then he stated "because you haven't confirmed your details, this call is being terminated and you will be called at a later date" and he hung up! I have since received numerous voicemail messages from this number stating that "some matter has arisin and I must call 1300003894 and quote reference number blah blah blah...." I still have no idea who they are, and in the voicemail messages it is EXTREMELY difficult to understand what they are saying.

I got a telegram from "cassandra" too....
I don't even want to know about it, if it is legit they should be a bit more professional and write a letter, email or make a phone call.
Definantly won't get my attention...  I'm going with its a scam

Dun and bradstreet is a legitimate, worldwide company that does debt collection, sales and marketing and credit reporting. if you have recieved a text message saying urgent matter call and quote reference number it means that one of their clients has sent a debt under your name to them, if you feel you do not have a debt then it is even more urgent that you call to dispute it because if you ignore it they will credit list you and why should you have to be credit listed or have legal consequences taken on you if you don't owe money. They ask for your details because they have to by Australian law. No company can discuss any accounts matter with you before verifying at least two points (eg DOB, ADDRESS or FULL NAME) Like when you call you bank and they make you verify your details. If you have any sense you will call this company and get this matter sorted before it has any effect on your credit rating. At the end of the day, Dun and Bradstreet don't buy your debt so they don't really care if you pay it cause it's you that will get knocked back for a homeloan, phone contract, car loan or whatever else you may apply for in the next seven years. Pay your debts peopl and if you can't afford it call and and negotiate a payment arrangement, you'll be doing yourself a favour!

Hey everyone, I too have been contacted from these people regarding and urgent matter which they will not disclose until I confirm my details.  They said they were from Dun and Bradstreet, so what I did was contact Dun and Bradstreet myself via email to check whether it was a scam or not.  Turns out it wasn't, was just an old electricity bill that had been incorrectly charged to me that they were chasing up.  

I'd suggest if anyone isn't sure if someone is who they say they are, contact the company yourself and find out.

Same! I don't know why i actually have this. I've already talked about my certain debt with someone from my bank days before I got this telegram. What's strange is that I have 2 duplicates, one was sent to my older brother who lives far away and one being sent to me.

Why do you say it's debt collectors, when Dun and Bradstreet tells me they are not associated with
1300 003 894

Also this number is not listed on their website. Their number is a 13 ** ** or a 9828 **** number not a 1300  number.

I thought so, but they have insisted today, it is now the second day they've called me. In same manner as everyone else... with urgency!!! Both callers had Indian accents, ringing from 1300 003 894, quoting reference a number... Thanks to this website and further search I've done on Google I can now feel more relax about it and ignore the busters. Never the less, don't give out your private information to anyone calling you, they trying to still your identity.

got this cal sayin contact anna urgently on above numbe and quote refernce code bla bla.... rang em from privet number and an indian guy answered the phone.. wanted my details etc.. i said you should have em in front of you. he says yeas but for security reasons they need it.. my mobile number is private so how they got it i dont know. and told em i am not givin personal details like address and dob to some strange number i got via text with nothin to prove they are who they say they are.. the say they are dun and bradbury a debt collectors in victoria but i doubt the authenticity as they have foreign people anwserin phone.. dont risk it.. i contacte my mate that works for dep of fair tradin and he said he has heard a lot about this and it is a scam... and not to give me anything..

they also  rang here trying to tell my partner she had outstanding phone bill wich we know was paid just ask them for there number and you will get back to them or ask them to ring another number like the locsl police station with the number you give them
