I just got the same call from a gentleman with a strong, and hard to understand, Indian accent. He seemed to be saying that my computer was running slow and that he had a fix.
I said that my computer was doing just fine, thank you very much. Click.

Edited for brevity...I actually kept him on the line for a while, for my own amusement and education...
Him: "I am calling from Windows Technical Support. We are getting error messages from your computer."
Me: "HOW are you getting those error messages?"
Him: "Your computer is connected to your local server. Your local server passes the error messages to us."
Me: "Who do you work for?"
Him: "South End Enterprises. Could you please turn on your computer and press the keys I tell you to, so I can see the error messages?"
Me: "No, I'm not going to do that."
Him: "OKgoodbye." (very quick!)
Well, of course they're not calling from Windows Technical Support; they hope you will hear "Windows" and think "Microsoft".

AT 3.40 pm on 14/1/14 this person rang but as it showed up as overseas on my caller ID I didn't answer. I am getting overseas calls frequently to see when I answer or if I am at home. If I do answer by mistake it is from an Indian sounding voice and some times male or female. I don't know if the overseas number is always from the same person/company but today it showed the number when I left it long enough. The other overseas number I have had recently is from 2533974654, again if overseas comes up and I have my glasses on I do not answer.

Got a call from this un-real number this morning. I was surprised when the answering machine started recording, but I think it was an error on their part.  All I heard was lots of background noise, telemarketing boiler-room style, with some Indian-accented voices audible. There was no message, and at first I thought it was an a*s call, but apparently not. The fake tech support scams are still operating: my elderly step-mom fell prey to one about 18 months ago, paid $500, but we managed to get about $350 back. Then we took away her computer, LOL...

Got a call from a man with a stong Indian accent who said he was calling about Windows.  There was a lot of noise in the background as though there was a whole room full of people making calls.  I interrupted him and told him I don't even have a computer.  He said "Oh" and hung up.

Just had one of these calls, told him I don't have a computer.

I got this call today in the morning, claiming they were from 'Windows' and wanted to get me to pay them to remove viruses from my computer. Allegedly they were from 'India'.

Got a call yesterday afternoon and again at 4:00 A.M. from this number in regards to Windows.  Not a happy camper.

This is the 4th time this guy has called.  Says my computer is giving him alerts how in the heck does he know it is giving him alerts.   He says he is from Microsoft and I need to get on my computer and let him have access.   DUH NO!!!!!!

Received a call from this number.  Indian accent. Once again my computer is infected. I told him I had
already received three calls alerting my to this nonexistent problem and to get a decent job and not try
to scam people.

Got a call from an Indian lady who claimed she was calling about Windows and some sort of problem with my computer. Obviously a scam. I told her to "forget it" and hung up. I use a Mac (and only rarely use Windows (XP) for old programs but hardly ever for the internet).   Shouldn't Microsoft send out some alert re: these scams?

I had a call from a man with a very strong Indian accent today from 1-145-897-4624. I know a lot about computer networks, so I asked him if that was the case then he should  know what my IP is. He gave me an LAN IP that is not associated to any of my PC's. When I asked him for my IP that he has for the first time I wrote it down, I let him know that I could not understand him so he tried to repeat it, but it was a different number. Still no match. I caught him in his act. He needs to work on his scamming skills. LOL

you can always call the cops on him.

They have been calling my Dad and stepmother who are in their 80's.  My parents weren't sure whether to sign up or not, so told me about it.  Of course I googled the number and got this site as well as information from other sites.  So my parents know now not to answer this, but how many other people in that age group are getting taken advantage of?  And, then tonight, I got a call from this same number!  These people are truly scum.

All the same as you say above. Total scam! Indian man thick accent asking about my windows 7 and getting errors. He said "someone" was trying to hack my computer. I asked who but he refused to say and demanded I answered him if I had windows 7 or not! I played with him a bit cause I knew he was a con-artist. At the end I told him at this point he's full of crap because I have a Mac running OS. Then he called me a F'ing Bloody B*****d twice and hung up on me.

Some foreign women called said they were from window's and my computer had a virus etc. told here I had just had window's doing a search and installing new softwear and didn't need what ever she was selling,so she said I will be sorry when virus attack's my computer and she put the phone down !!1

They claim they they do not have a do not call list, which is bogus because a company has to have one by law. This company has to be shut down, they have been harassing me 3 times in the last month.

Called here and Canada daughter said not  doing as ask as know they are scam he said I will find you and rape your whole family she said not before I show you my gun you want it in the mouth or up the a**.

I think this number was from India and said to me my windows on my computer has problems. He said he would call me back at 7:00pm tonight being Friday July 5th.

He did call me and I told hom he's a fraud and a phony. I told him he was not from Rogers and I checked with rogers earlier today. Then he started to yell at me and I called him a stupid Indian and I would report him. I then hung up on him.
He never returned my call this evening....

Same here.  Some man from India called my mum and had her looking at how many errors were on her computer.  Her computer has been telling her to download and buy some virus software ever since she clicked on something online and the computer  simulated a scan and told her she had x amount of errors.  Mum is not very computer literate so the story I hear tends to be a bit garbled and I have a Mac so don't know what she is talking about most of the time!  Anyway I suspect the two things are related.  Mum is 75 and was convinced she was talking to Microsoft - the only thing that saved her was she could barely understand the thick Indian accent and told him to call back when I could talk to him.

I told the caller that I had an Apple computer, and he said "F--- You"and he hung up. Wha....?
