I am writing to inform you my gratitude for all the effort & persistence to correct the issues I had with my PC's my operating system.
All work was carried out very efficiently & everything that was asked was completed with great satisfaction. I cannot
comprehend how I managed to 'get by' without 24/7 PC CARE before. I would say with 'great confusion & headache'.
Personally, I would suggest & recommend to anyone who cares about maintaining their computers to sign up for this
PC care & excellent customer service which is available anytime of the day, every day of the year!
It is for sure given me a piece of mind to know that my 'prized possession' is looked after a group that is so
professional !
Many thanks for all your hard effort & patience today, Max Dixon !!!

I received a phone call from (161) 408-4448. They called my phone several times today. It was an Indian man saying I had a virus. I told them if they were going to be a solicitor not to call a computer geniuses house. They are persistent. They have tried to call back several times.

It's a scam.....I don't even run Windows so there is no way they could be from Microsoft or any affiliate. Don't give them any info.
| Ian 2011-08-18 10:57:38 Unknown |
They tell you that there is a fault with your computer/internet.
Then they try to get you to allow them to remotely access your PC.
Goodnes knows what damage they may do - so they can 'repair' it!
DO NOT LET THEM REMOTELY ACCESS YOUR COMPUTER
Best thing is to ask them where they found your number, instruct them to delete it from their records and then hang up - Or, if you have time, ask them numerous pointless computer qestions till they get bored and hang up!

This number is a SCAM. They called me last night from 1-000-000-0000 also. They used this number today, but when I answered, they hung up. They tell you your computer has a virus and that it is very important that your software be updated. It is corrupted. Said that my comp had been hacked and that they would fix everything for $129.00. ... not to worry! They said they were from DELL and that my computer had sent them a code that alerted them to the virus. It was a "courtesy call."They did have some of my information correct. I say "they" because I spoke to 3 Indian men. I was actually FOOLED at first because of the info, that they gave me and I did let them have access and run a "scan", but when they got to the $129. part I said NO. I would call Dell and find out first. They use AMMNY remote ... which was my first clue. Dell uses dellconnect. The person ran the "scan" then said that the software needed to be updated. It was out of date and that was when they asked for the money too. After I said NO, the person removed all of my desktop icons to the recycle bin and was about to delete them, also was trying to click the MY COMPUTER folder!!!! I clicked no, as he was clicking yes and immediately did a hard shutdown on my computer.. I was so thankful that I saw what he was doing and shut my computer down before he had really messed it up. I called Dell and IYOGI software support (The people that Dell contracts with) they fixed my computer. Luckily, the scammers had not done anything to permanently ruin my info yet and they didn't get my credit information. DO NOT USE THE PEOPLE WHO CALL FROM THIS NUMBER IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR COMPUTER!!!!! They are VERY persistant. The people that are commenting on here and are saying this number is legitimate speak broken English. That should tell you something!
