I CAN NOT BELIEVE THE IGNORANCE DISPLAYED HERE BY SO MANY OF YOU SO CALLED EXPERTS ON SCAMS!!!
I have used 4 lots of the DRU vouchers offered by this Australian firm, over a period of 5 years now and not once have I had a problem. That should give me some expertise from which to comment- yes?
The company DRU acts purely as a promotions agent for the biggest sudo time share group in the world called Wyndham Resorts International. Look them up! Many other hotel chains are now copying their model because it is so successful and flexible. DRU simply sells promo vouchers which entitle the bearer (as they can be given away as gifts) to a limited stay at one of the many top class Wyndham Resorts. The length of the stay allowed, varies depending on the resort you wish to visit. The only stipulation is you must attend a presentation while staying at the resort, during which, Wyndham Resorts will endeavour to sell you an interest in their program; which quite frankly is a pretty good deal. It is Wyndham's way of letting you experience one of their first class resorts for very little cost, in the hope it will help to clinch the deal. You are under NO OBLIGATION TO BUY!! IF YOU DON'T WISH TO-- THAT'S FINE BY THEM. Once you decide which resort you would like to visit, all the arrangements re the booking are done via Wyndham- NOT DRU- all they do is try to get people to go there by offering the low cost vouchers on behalf of Wyndham. For once it really is "to good to be true"!
My wife and I have stayed in their magnificent resort in Fiji twice and have never had a problem with the booking other than the usual availability problems. These resorts are so popular that you have to book at least 4-6 months in advance. Reason- Wyndham's own MEMBERS are booking from all over the world!  Even then they have gone out of their way to accommodate us by allowing us to book into one room and then move to another during the time we wanted. Both multi room apartments were fantastic! But hey $99 for 5 nights in a 4 star resort- count me in! Cheap at 5 times the price. What's more, as a "voucher visitor" you can extend your stay at hugely reduced rates.
My wife and I were baled up in the street by a German guy while staying at Patong Beach Thailand about 18 months ago. "Hey you guys you just won a T shirt" For a laugh we attended the sales pitch cos it included a free lunch and drinks at a ritzy resort, in air conditioned comfort- anything to get out of the heat that day. It was a scam but we got out of there with a full tummy, well irrigated and we still have our T shirts. The reason that so many of them operate in Thailand is their laws re selling time share have no cooling off period and little or no accreditation checks. Hope this helps. We intend staying at Wyndham's resort in Tassie next year using, you guessed it, a voucher.

I really am confused when ppl say they have trouble contacting the company. Maybe I am dealing with a different mob. Every time I ring or email I get a response. I just bought another pkg of 2 trips with a bonus android tablet which I am writing this post on.  It arrived in a week even tho they told me 10 days. They had a cpl of camcorders from a previous special so I thought "wot the heck" and bought another 2 x holiday pkg and got the bonus camcorder - came in same delivery with tablet. Not sure how I will take four holidays in the 3 years required -will be some happy family members I reckon. I will be the first to complain if I get scammed or get poor service but so far so good. Will post again after my Bali holiday in Aug which will be  my third DRU holiday, first 2 were great. Do hope u get yr holiday sorted out. :)

I purchased 3 holidays through DRU, bookings took a few weeks to organise but nothing too problematic.  With the first one, I thought I would probably end up at some dodgy run-down place, but with the price of the package being less than it would cost to stay at a backpacker venue, I thought "give it a go".  I was stunned - it was a 4.5 star resort that was only a year old.  Had a great holiday.  We went to the 90 minute presentation, politely said no at the end, no pressure whatsever.  Took the second holiday last month, again it was excellent.  We are now booked for 7 days in Bali in August.  We have been asked to provide evidence of our booked flights so that the resort doesn't hold a room for a "no show".  Fair call I reckon, given our booking is in peak season. Bring on the faxes I say, it is the best bargain I have found in my life!  And no, I don't work for the company and have no vested interest in giving them a plug, just in letting people out there know they are silly to miss out on a great holiday on the cheap.

I purchased a holiday package from DRU that was faxed to me and also there was an android tablet for first 30 callers. They said I won it. I purchased the holiday package without knowing that it was only meant for australian and nz resident. I wasn't told about it until I paid for it. Later when I call hotel to book for the room they said I am not eligible. Now its been more than 4 months. I cant use holiday package because i am uneligible and nor do I have tablet. they said they posted it already but when i go to post they have no idea.

i have heard about these holidays.
you do a timeshare seminare at the start, which lasts for a couple of hours then you just say you are not interested and you are welcome to go on your way and enjoy your very cheap holiday.
i haven't done it but i know people who swear by it.
you are not restricted to how many days you go for it says 7 nights but you can just do 3 or 4 or 5 etc. if that suits you better. i think that you just cant go in peek time.

Not 100% sure about any of this. I have only heard about it second hand from friends.
im seriously considering it.

This company is legit. I used to work for them.
What we did, is sent you a certificate in the mail after your purchase, and you can choose destinations in Aus, NZ, Fiji, Bali, Thailand. The resorts are either from Wyndhamvrap.com.au or absoluteresorts.com
Theyre 4-5 star hotels.
The only little nig, is that you attend a 90 minute seminar and listen to people trying to sell you stuff, but after that you can enjoy your holiday.
If you need more detail, call them up and theyll be happy to detail the resorts, ensure you that it's legit, etc.

I sent my parents over to Wanaka (NZ) to the Wyndham resort there, and they loved it. the 90 minute thing didnt even bother them because they got such a good deal.

Everyone is wary of telemarketers, and fantastic deals like this. I would like to remind you that we live in a modern age where credit card scamming is almost non-existant because of the Australian laws. If you ever get scammed, your bank has to refund you and will chase up the scammer.

I quit this job because I moved on to a manager position at a Clothing retail store, but I loved to work here because we got a  lot of happy feedback, the environment was great, and I really loved and believed in the product I sold.

Is there somewhere that you can read their 'conditions and exclusions' fineprint before making a purchase. Like to see things in writing before purchasing.??

These offers have been coming thru for years. They are genuine. The pros: a cheap holiday and 3 yrs to book it.
The cons: you have to sit for 90mins and hear a speil about timeshare and resist their selling pressure; you may have trouble finding an available week that suits you when you try to book; you don't find out where the actual resorts are until after you purchase the offer, so they may not be exactly where you would have liked to stay; you may have to spend a certain amount on food/beverages at the resort as part of the deal; "conditions and exclusions apply". Caveat emptor.

Golden Bough Pty Ltd, ACN 128814040 does exist and at the same street address (40 Young St Frankston) and same domain name registration details as Prospect Marketing, see http://www.prospects.com.au/

I didn't trust the unsubscribe website so I called Prospect Marketing on the number on their web site 1800 08 04 01 and spoke to a nice woman who said she would be happy to remove my number from the lists they manage. Now to see whether the faxes stop...

When you respond to an ad these days, you're taking a risk. There have been complaints on this thread about this company. If you are feeling unsure about this, trust your instincts and don't take them up on their offer. The testimonials could be from the scammer himself or one of his associates trying to do damage control. Play it safe. I've read posts about other travel companies on whocallsme that try to extort money from their customers after they paid the advertised price.

it is not a scam but you have to attend a promotion where they try to get you to buy into time share holidays.  The reorts are normally fine but usually a bit away from the tourist centres which may or may not be what you want.

Hi.. I got the fax and called them and paid the $99.00 as requested. I then got the vouchers mailed to me within a week. I then booked a 1 BR fully equiped apartment at Mantra Circle on Cavill Gold Coast for 3 nights, 4 days. Only issue was that I needed to attend a 2 1/2 hour presentation - they even had free child minding service for our son. This was a pleasent experience for me and I will do it again. In fact, I was looking at their latest offers now..!

I am quite sure that at least one of the directors of The Golden Bough (Ken Warren) is also a director of Prospect Marketing who have been sending this type of fax for years. The holidays are provided by Destinations R Us (director: Malcolm Ford). It apprears they prefer to take money for the holidays but it hard to book it even though some who persist to get the holiday. By Law, they should be including an ABN number as well as the the number they are sending to when faxing.

$99 holidays to Thailand do exist. I just would not buy from them unless I was happy to stuggle to make a booking later.
