I got a phone call from this number and once I picked up, all that happened was 10-15 seconds of silence followed by a lady saying "goodbye" and hanging up.

They called me today, he was disgusting. When i called him out on his scam he called me a bit** an said he wanted to F*** me. Im sickened by this. Called me back from a second number to harrass me some more. 984 578 3173

These scammers make me sick.

It is a scam call, who says that they are from Microsoft and trying to access your system. Please do not share your computer.

This looks like a scam to get access into our system. On their second call, just to educate myself, I talked to the manager (supposed to be) of the initial caller. The supposed to be manger were initially courteous, and apologized for mentioning that they are from Microsoft, later he agreed that they are 3rd party and not from MS. I asked for their business model of making money. Once we accept, they will run an initial scan on our system and if they find any holes on our system (naturally they will find), they sell their tools as a protection. Still I did not convince and asked them stop calling. Since then, he raised his voice, and used un-parliamentary language when I said I will report to FCC as my number is is do not call list.

Please don't answer to this call, and spread the word.

The caller ID came up as long distance.  I told him what he was doing was illegal and that I was going to call the police.  He responded by telling me I was doing illegal things with my computer and he was going to call the police on me.  I will be contacting local law enforcement.

I go this call from 184-578-3173 and nobody was on the other side and yes the caller ID showed Rod Jones I think it is a scam

did not answer at first, then try to answer but the person on the other line would not say anything the name on caller ID is Rod Jones

Just received 2 calls from this number.  The first time, the caller id just displayed 'Private Caller'. When I answered, the guy gave me the same idiotic story about a malicious virus on my computer and asked me to go to my computer.  I told him, 'No' and hung up.  When he called back a minute later, the 184- number appeared on my caller id, so I answered it.  He then apologized for our call being 'disconnected' and asked me if I was at my computer. I told him to leave me alone and get lost!

I got tired of calls like this from several different numbers so I bought a whistle and have hopefully burst a lot of Asian criminals ears. If you have caller identity, keep track of the numbers and when one calls, blow your whistle when they speak. If we can get more and more people doing this, hopefully it will stop or slow down the calls. Good Luck

Received two calls this morning and ignored both
because I was suspicious of the area code.

Just got a call from this number and no message was left.  Came up on Caller ID as follows:

184-578-3173

I also got the same call telling me they wanted to take over computer as I have a virus or something. hard to understand if you know what I mean. I told him he was full of s*** and hung up.

Well first time they rang I told then not a chance he then ask to talk to my wife I said no he then ask me if my wife was sexy I'm like what I hang up on him he they rang a ferther 7 time sadly I was not inpressed and got a little violent now I get one phone call same thing different number about 3 times a week

Same experience for me as reported by others.  They are not very slick but seem to be trying to get information about or access to your computer.  

It was a man who called and my husband answered first and the man did not say what company he was with to him, just that he wanted to commando our computer system because an erroneous program.  He said he would not allow that and hung up.  A minute later he called again and I answered and the man told me he was from Microsoft and needed to fix a program that was causing issues and I told him it was not going to happen and I was going to report him.  I told him I was not using a windows platform for internet and he's like oh, what do you use?....I told him again I was reporting him and he said ok and hung up.

Well, if Microsoft hires 3rd world criminals, who call you trying to take control of your computer, & steal all your personal, & financial information - then NO, it isn't Microsoft. It's 3rd world criminals calling you trying to take control of your computer & steal all your personal & financial information.
