001885645782 is from a spammer wanting to take over your PC.

Just got a call from this number. When I told him my husband, an IT guy, would look into all 5 of our computers he said thank you and hung up.

I got a call from these ppl last night.......I played with him a bit then told him I didn't even have a PC so what did he really want.......He sounded very confused by this point..........OH WELL When they call it always says private caller.....

An Indian (or Pakistani?) called from "Microsoft Technical Department" saying that my computer has been sending error messages for the past two weeks and this indicates that a hacker is attacking it.  He went along baiting me, telling me that they can "fix" it.  (This is the same outfit that planted a worm in my elderly Dad's computer!!).  To "fix" it, I'm supposed to press the "WinDoZe" key and the "R" at the same time.  Tried this quite a few times, getting fresh instructions each time.   Hmmm...  Wonder why nothing happens?  Can it be because this computer has been running Linux for the past two years and doesn't know what WinDoZe is?  Anyway, after meekly following his instructions to the WinDoZe-R stage, he couldn't figure out why "a little box" did not appear....  So I decided to help him out:  

"You stupid $hit!  This computer runs Linux! Go to &ell!!" and hung up.

There's nothing that says you have to be courteous to scammers using the phone for breaking & entering.
